Chapter 1451: Chapter 1451
"That’s more like it. We’re all roommates in this dorm, we should help each other out in the future."
The woman nodded with satisfaction, awkwardly glancing at Li Xiaoli, Wu Xiaoxia, and Ma Jiaran, "I have a small request. My daughter loves cleanliness. I wonder if any of the girls on the top bunk would be willing to give up their bed. We’ll definitely repay you handsomely in the future."
Upon hearing this, Liu Mengting and the others realized that the woman’s main point was about the bed exchange, but her approach was impeccable, offering gifts before making her request. Those on the top bunk would feel embarrassed to refuse.
Wu Xiaoxia took off her headphones, wanting to speak.
"You can have my bed."
Before Li Xiaoli and Wu Xiaoxia could say anything, Ma Jiaran couldn’t wait to shout, then quickly tossed her things down from the top bunk.
Mu Zixin expressed her gratitude.
"No worries, we’re all roommates, helping each other is the right thing to do."
After Ma Jiaran climbed down, she responded warmly.
Seeing this, Li Xiaoli snorted disdainfully.
"Hey, move to Wu Xiaoxia’s bunk, I want your bed."
Ma Jiaran looked at Liu Junmei with undeniable authority.
"I’ve just organized my spot, why should I move my bed?"
Liu Junmei protested unhappily.
"Exactly, you’re doing a good deed, why bully Little Mei?"
Li Xiaoli got angry, climbing down from her bed, ready to start a fight.
"You took the benefits, can’t you just move?"
Ma Jiaran glanced at Li Xiaoli, impatiently looking at Liu Junmei, "I’m too lazy to move my stuff, you have less, so move quickly."
"Ma Jiaran, don’t go too far, I..."
"Forget it, I’ll move."
Liu Junmei didn’t want any trouble, quickly stopping Li Xiaoli, reaching out to push Ma Jiaran aside, "Move away, I’ll move."
"That’s the right attitude, those who know how to adapt are wise."
Ma Jiaran smirked coldly and then looked at Mu Zixin, "Xinxin, let me help you move your stuff up."
"No need, they’ll handle it for me."
Mu Zixin shook her head, glancing at the men in black behind her.
A group immediately stepped forward to remove Ma Jiaran’s mattress and began setting up the bed.
"Miss, please step aside for a moment."
While lifting the mattress, the man in black signaled Ma Jiaran to make way.
Ma Jiaran quickly stepped back, but bumped into the corner of the table, and the kettle on the desk fell and landed right on her foot.
"Ow, ow, ow. It hurts so much!"
Ma Jiaran cried out, holding her foot in pain.
Liu Junmei cried out distressfully.
"Hey, Ma Jiaran, you broke Little Mei’s new kettle, how are you going to compensate for that?"
Li Xiaoli immediately shouted angrily.
"Her kettle fell on my foot, I haven’t even settled my score with her, what do you want me to do?"
Ma Jiaran glared angrily at Li Xiaoli.
"Of course, you should compensate her for a new kettle. We need to be reasonable, right?"
Li Xiaoli stared righteously at Ma Jiaran.
"I’ll pay for it. How much is that kettle?"
Mu Zixin quickly spoke up.
"No need, I’ll compensate her with mine, no need for you to spend anything."
Ma Jiaran immediately smiled, then glared fiercely at Liu Junmei, "My kettle will be yours, I’ll buy myself a new one later."
Liu Junmei shrugged. Her kettle was already broken, and now she got a new one, such a gain!
Soon, the group in black set up Mu Zixin’s bed, with beautiful mosquito nets, down sheets, silk quilts, and hand-embroidered warm pillows. Every item on the bed cost at least a few thousand dollars.
"Isn’t that over the top?"
Li Xiaoli sat on Liu Mengting’s bed, speechless as she looked at the small castle on the opposite upper bunk, completely out of place with the dorm room’s style.
Ma Jiaran’s eyes lit up as she stared at Mu Zixin’s bed, every piece of it was what she’d dreamed of owning. She could deduce that Mu Zixin’s background was definitely not ordinary. If she could latch onto her, life would be carefree in the future.
"For now, this will have to do. Once darling gets through freshman year and can move off-campus, you’ll immediately move into the family villa. We can’t have you suffer."
The woman looked at the bed, grumbling in dissatisfaction.
"I got it, can you leave now?"
Mu Zixin urged impatiently.
"That’s not going to work; you all haven’t eaten lunch yet, have you? Today, as Xinxin’s guardian, I’ll treat everyone in the dorm to a meal."
The woman looked warmly at Liu Mengting and the others.
Ma Jiaran nodded repeatedly.
"No, we’ve arranged to meet some other classmates."
Liu Mengting quickly refused.
"Yeah, a few of us high school classmates all got into Imperial University together, we’ve already planned to have lunch together. We can’t ditch them."
Li Xiaoli also nodded repeatedly.
"No worries, invite your friends along too, and their friends as well. College life is all about making friends."
The woman invited grandly.
Li Xiaoli and Liu Mengting found themselves in a dilemma.
"I’ll make a call to ask for their opinions, alright?"
Liu Mengting looked uncertainly at the woman.
"Go ahead, the meal’s on me anyway."
The woman nodded with a smile.
Their dorm wasn’t the only one unsettled; Tang Ming’s dorm wasn’t peaceful either.
When Tang Ming returned to the dorm with his mattress and a pile of stuff, he found his bedding and belongings thrown on the floor, while the other members of the dorm had already arrived.
Tang Ming put down his mattress, frowning as he looked around the room.
The bed he chose, number four, was already occupied, with a thick mattress and corresponding bedding all set up.
"Hey man, you in dorm 137 too?"
A handsome guy on bed two, holding a green magazine, grinned at Tang Ming, "I’m Meng Xianjun. We’ll be roommates, take care of me. What’s your name?"
"I’m Tang Ming. Who threw my stuff on the ground?"
Tang Ming glanced at Meng Xianjun, asking in confusion.
A frail guy wearing glasses, sitting on bed three and surrounded by antique books, glanced at Tang Ming and pointed to the bathroom.
"That was me, so what? What’s with the shouting?"
At this moment, a bulky young man with a dark face, wearing a red basketball jersey, came out of the bathroom, wiping his face, and looked dismissively at Tang Ming, "I want to sleep on bed four, but I was a bit late. I’m just asking you to give me the spot."
"You threw my things on the floor without my consent; is that your way of doing things?"
Tang Ming looked coldly at the dark-faced young man, "Move your stuff away and put my things back, and I’ll let it go this time."
