Chapter 639 Owning Hearts

"The children are being noisy at home. They were always quarreling," Nick Cage said as his eyebrows furrowed.

"They were noisy? Did you say that they were fighting? Why were they fighting? " Veronica Parker is not convinced at all by Nick Cage's reasons. She could hardly believe that their children were not well-behaved, "They were lovely! They wouldn't fight"

Nick Cage stared at her with his deep dark eyes.

Veronica Parker suddenly ran out of strength as the almost naked Nick Cage walked closer to her that her face immediately felt heated.

The tall man suddenly pressed his body over Veronica Parker as he leaned for a kiss. She was stunned for a moment.

After he had let go, Veronica Parker asked blankly, "Nick, why did you kiss me? "

Nick Cage dismissed her question and instead asked, "Why is your face so red. Did you drink?"

Veronica Parker took a few steps backward and her face became even redder, "Why would I go for a drink?"

Nick Cage turned around and went back to the room as if he hadn't heard her.

"I'm going to get my clothes and take a shower."

When the cupboard door opened, she was stunned. Her clothes were squeezed to one side of the cabinet and the other half contained men's clothes.

A hand reached out from behind her, gently squeezing Veronica Parker's body.

At the cabinet in front of her, Nick Cage took out some men's pajamas and wore them. Nick Cage's smell dominated the apartment and that disturbed Veronica Parker's mind.

Veronica Parker turned around and she looked at Nick Cage who was in his pajamas and she asked with her voice filled with confusion, "Why are your clothes in my cabinet?"

There were not only pajamas there but also several sets of shirts and suits. There were also a few pairs of leather shoes at the bottom.

"Because I need to wear them," Nick Cage replied with a sheepish smile.

Veronica Parker looked at him, what nonsense was he saying? She knew that those clothes were meant to be worn but why did he need to bring them to her apartment?

If his clothes were there, then did it mean that he was going to stay there for a long time? Did he want to own both Veronica Parker and her wardrobe?

"Go and take a bath," Nick Cage said before he turned to the bed.

Veronica Parker looked at the man lying in her bed and her face flushed red.

"Don't you want to take a bath?" Nick Cage's black eyes narrowed slightly.

Veronica Parker took her clothes and she headed to the bathroom.

But before she opened the bathroom door she glanced at Nick Cage for a moment.

Veronica Parker blushed again at the thought of what might happen after she got out of that bathroom.

When she finally entered the bathroom, Veronica Parker looked at herself in the mirror. He was right, she indeed looked like she was drinking. Her face was hot as if she just drank a whole bottle of wine.

Veronica Parker was still very surprised that Nick Cage was in her apartment. When she used to see Nick Cage in front of her, she had always looked afraid. But now, that fear had watered down a little.

She looked at her face in the mirror for the second time. Why was she blushing?

Veronica Parker was frightened by her own thoughts.

She didn't like Nick Cage, did she? It's impossible. Otherwise, that was a terrible idea.

Veronica Parker placed her hands on her flushed and feverish face. She squeezed it lightly and her little mouth pouted pitifully.

She started to ask herself in the mirror, "Veronica, you didn't like Nick Cage, did you? You're only deeply connected with him because he was the father of your children, right?"

Indeed, it was just the feeling of being deeply connected, she finally told herself.

Veronica Parker took a bath, dressed up, and walked out of the bathroom. She glanced hastily at the room where Nick Cage was and decided to sit down on the sofa in the living room instead.

Before she could even enter the room, her heart felt like it was about to jump out of her chest.

The purpose of Nick Cage was so obvious that even the blind could feel it.

Now her room is like a cave of a wild beast and she would be swallowed as soon as she got in.

It was scary to even get close.
