Chapter 325 I Can't Be Their Mother

Veronica Parker continued watching him as he opened his mouth as he chomped into the meat.

She startled for a while. He ate six big chunks of meat already.

His face was inscrutable. He was hard to read. He looked like he was someone who has an easy life.

She thought of not to care too much about what he was thinking for as long as he does not take his kids for granted.

Isabella watched them as they eat. She was delighted to see how they were today and hoped they could stay like this moving forward.

After dinner, Isabella started to make the bed for Veronica Parker. The children were still playing with the toys Veronica Parker bought them.

"You don't have to do this", said Veronica to Isabella.

"I am not doing anything when I am paid 100,000 dollars a month just to take care of the children", Isabella said.

"It is not easy to take care of these children", Veronica Parker laughed, "Let me do that".

"I am overjoyed taking care of the kids. Look at them, they are so adorable. They also do not need too much attention so I thought I should do something else. Let me take care of this," Isabella said.

Veronica Parker could sense her affection for the children. She stared at them for a while and could not describe their happiness. She brought her attention back to Isabella and asked, "

"Mr. Cage was not complaining about his children. He slept with the children last night and I am sure he didn't get good sleep when I saw him this morning. I think he just finds it difficult taking care of them," Isabella chuckled.

Veronica Parker now understood Peter's attitude towards him.

"He was a bit snappy to Peter sometimes, but I think he is a good father," Veronica Parker said.

"Yes, that is what the housekeeper thought, too", Isabella paused for a while, "Peter acts normal when he was at school but acts differently when he is at home. He keeps asking for his mother, especially during the night. Do you think maybe you can fulfill his emptiness?"

Veronica Parker was silent. She does not like the thought of being with Nick Cage.

It was impossible for her to like him. She was afraid of having him around.

She stood, asked the children to take a bath, and send them to bed. She kissed and hugged them one by one.

"Mommy will just take a shower. I will sleep with you after I am done", Veronica said to the children.

"Promise?" Peter said.

"Yes, sweetheart", she replied with a smile.

She was in her room when the door suddenly opened. It was Nick Cage.
