Chapter 295 Letting Go

"It's Peter." Veronica told Nick who kept giving her cold glares.

"Where did the other five children come from?"

"I adopted them."

"Do you want me to check it out?" He asked.

Veronica was shocked. She didn't understand what he meant. She then wondered why he'd ask her a question like that even after knowing Peter is his son.

Maybe it was also because it's weird to adopt five children, she thought.

Nick took out his cell phone and put it on the coffee table with the spray bottle.

"It's under investigation abroad. If you say it before I tell it to them, I'll give you a break. " Before Nick Cage had finished his words, his phone vibrated, deepening the tension.

Veronica's heart was pounding.

How could Nick not investigate the matter of giving birth? As long as he had the slightest doubt, he'll certainly investigate thoroughly.

Nick glanced at her coldly. He picked up his phone and was ready to answer when Veronica shouted.

"Sextuplets!" Veronica blurted out in a panic.

Nick suddenly dropped the phone he was holding, and he couldn't believe what Veronica had said.

"How many?" He asked, his bubble was about to burst any minute now and he wanted answers.

Veronica simply frowned and said nothing. She thought there was no need to say it again.

The phone was still vibrating, so Nick picked up the phone and answered.

Veronica saw that Nick was dead silent as he furrowed his eyebrows.

The person on the phone was talking, but it was inaudible. She couldn't understand it at all.

Nick suddenly threw away his phone. Veronica felt that everything that has happened flashed before her eyes as Nick suddenly slammed her against the wall.

"Damn it! I can't believe you gave birth to children behind my back!", Nick yelled at her.

Veronica felt like her neck was going to break.

"Let go!"

"Dead without Daddy, huh?" Nick mocked her.

"I-I didn't mean to..." Veronica widened her eyes in shock. She didn't think he'd remember that.

Nick kept gripping Veronica's neck as if he really wanted to kill her right then and there. He couldn't believe Veronica had five children behind his back and that infuriated him.

"Since you like to run so much, keep running!" Nick yelled at Veronica then let her go. He then turned around began to leave.

Veronica reacted and hugged his arm.

Nick turned to Veronica and glared at her. "Do you want to die?"

"You want to take the children?" Veronica asked and looked up at Nick.

Nick snorted as if he just heard a joke. "What do you think?"

"Fine. You can take them all, but I have one request." Veronica pleaded. "I want them to meet me any time they miss me or when I miss them."

Nick didn't want Veronica to take the children at all. He understood why Veronica began pleading like that, but he didn't want the same thing to happen again.

"You'll never see the children again!" Nick told her mercilessly. He then pulled her hand away and tried to leave one more time.

Veronica immediately stood up and walked in front of Nick, attempting to stop him for the second time. "I gave birth to all of them, Nick. Isn't that a bit ruthless?" Veronica pleaded once more.

"I just want to see them whenever they want to see me. Is that all right?" She added.

"You deserve to be punished for giving birth to children behind my back and running away with them." Nick said as he gave her a stern look.
