Chapter 18: Chapter 18

I came home and found my brother eating with Megan, and Zach must have gone to sleep. I sat next to my brother and started looking at him with anticipation.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” he asked

"I'm waiting for you to say something. A while ago I was with my friend in your office and I haven't heard your opinion yet."

"Alpha William is a good guy at his job, his whole flock always praises him, and I know he can protect you, Alison, but I'm more worried about you not being happy with him."

" Why?"

"Because he has a very difficult personality, which he has suffered in the past, he will not open up to you easily and that is what worries me."

"Don't worry my brother, he opened up to me even if it was just a little, but I know that it will work out. I'm his partner in the end."

Well, if you are confident, then I wish you happiness, and don’t forget that you have a family here and they will always be behind you.” He said to me, feeling my tears began to gather, I got up from a chair and hugged him tightly from behind.

"I love you brother" I told him

“Me too, you bitch.” He answered me while I was still hugging him to see Megan crying while watching us. I went to her and hugged her too.

"What's wrong with Megan? Why are you so sensitive Are you pregnant or what?" I said while joking to feel her body stiffen in my embrace and to see that she was looking at Austin in shock, who in turn was looking at her with the same look.

"Mall, are you really pregnant?" I asked her

"I don't know, I mean, I'm not sure, but when you mentioned it, I started to feel like that."

"Let's go to the hospital right now." Austin stood up and walked over to her

"Have you gone mad at this time to not feel sorry for the members of our flock?" she told him

"It's their job, let's go."

"I won't go now, I'll go in the morning, calm down," she said, holding his hand and returning him to the chair and sitting next to him while he smiles and looks at her stomach, although they are not sure yet, but there is a feeling and the feeling does not lie. Suddenly I felt like the third person intruder here.

"Babe I'm still here I mean I also don't want to ruin your moment but I'm someone who's leaving tomorrow and wishes to spend some time with his family" I said and they smiled at me and opened their arms to hug me, they are the best family to me.

Allison's POV

“This is the last box,” I said to William, as I gave him the box. As soon as he caught it, he went to the trunk of his car to put it in with the rest of my things.

“Alison, did you take it all in?” asked Megan, who is standing next to my brother Austin

“I gathered all my clothes and wrote that what I need,” I replied

"Okay, so I guess it's time to say goodbye," Megan said, feeling tears starting to form in her eyes. She hugged me tight.

"Be happy, Alison, we're always here," she told me

"You take good care of yourself and my nephew," I said, looking at her belly. I went this morning and confirmed that she was really pregnant. I looked at my brother to hug me and I stressed his embrace. He was like my father and mother all these years. It was hard to be separated from him.

“Brother, thank you for all these years, I love you ,” I told him

"Me too, let's go, it's getting late." He said as he walked away I looked at Zach I explained it to him in the morning and promised him to come visit so he's not too sad I hugged him to stay away from him I saw my brother coming forward in front of William

"Take good care of my sister," he told him

"Don't worry," William reassured him before looking at me

"Ready?" he asked me

“Yes, come on.” I replied, got in the car , and drove off

" Are you well ?" he asked me

"Yeah fine don't worry" I replied let's fall into a long silence I want to break but I don't know how there are still so many hours to arrive I looked at William who seems focused on his driving with his expressionless face again

"What are you thinking?" He suddenly turned his gaze to me as I was watching him and I felt embarrassed to look away so quickly

"Nothing, but if you want, I can help you with the drive, it's a long way," I replied, trying to change the subject

“No, if you feel hungry, tell me to stop and eat.” He said to me and I nodded. The warmth of his attention to detail filled my heart.

Our journey lasted for three hours and there was still another hour. When I saw William walk into a gas station to fill the car before he stopped it in the restaurant garage, I saw the clock on my phone and saw it was eleven o'clock at night.

"Come on, let's eat. I know you won't tell me that, and I'm not thinking of making you starve to death." He said to me as he came down to smile and I followed him. So these restaurants stay open at night.

“We ’ll be there around midnight, I have to tell Andrew.” I said while holding the phone

"I told him to wait for me and not to sleep until I got there, but now I feel sorry for him."

" when ?" William's voice is really cut off to look at him

"Why did you ask him that?"

"I thought I'd stay at his house until you accept it. We can do it slowly. When you feel ready to accept me getting closer, I can move over to your house. "

Bring the food, start eating the steak in front of me, the food was delicious.

" What is the matter ?" I asked him when I noticed he kept looking at me

" On what ?" Answer me with another question

"I noticed you were looking at me so I asked you if there was something" I explained to him

"Nothing...Does it bother you?" he asked me

“Of course not,” I replied, shaking my head in the negative, before I looked at my plate again and finished my food

After we finished, we headed to the car and set off to continue our journey, and after an hour, the road to the herd and the trees surrounding it began to appear, and when we reached the entrance to the herd, William's car did not enter the garage, but took a road on the right.

"William, we've made it past the entrance," I asked, but he didn't answer me. Just keep driving. I know it's for the herd too, but where does it lead?

After only    minutes, his car stopped in front of a two-story house that was beautiful

William got out of the car to follow him. I watched the house, which is surrounded by nothing, only the forest. His house is far from the herd. That's what I concluded.

I saw William standing in front of the trunk and taking out my bags and heading towards the door to open it and enter, but I was only still in my place in front of the car only seconds and I saw him come back to me

"What are you doing there?"  he asked me

" I am waiting for you "

"Let's go in."  He told me to follow him.  I stood in the doorway until William closed the door and I looked at him, waiting for an explanation

“You will stay here because your place is here,” he told me

Just ??  Is this the explanation?  I'm happy I admit, I'll stay by his side but I was waiting for him to express why I'm staying here more but I don't think that will happen.

"Come, I'll show you your room. It's getting late, and tomorrow you can find out the house."  He said to me, and started walking toward the stairs to follow him.  He stopped in front of a door to open it.  I went in and found a little room with a bed, a closet, and a communal toilet.

"Sleep now and we'll talk tomorrow," he told me to get out of the room. I sat on the bed and then I saw him come in with my bags and put them in the room and before he came out he looked at me and I looked back at him

"I hope you don't regret it"

“Never.” I answered him to get out and shut the door behind him

The next morning

Allison's POV

I opened the door to the room after I completed my preparations to find William standing looking at me. Was he waiting here?

"Good morning" I told him

“I will show you the house, on this floor, with bedrooms, and in it.”

My office," he told me, pointing to one of the doors, meaning it was his office

“Now let’s go downstairs.” I gestured to him to follow him. I saw the living room and the large kitchen with a dining table and its chairs.

"Sit."  He pointed to one of the chairs for me to take and I watched him come forward to the place cooking and grab two plates.  He walked in front of me and lowered one of the plates next to me and put the other down in the place opposite me and sat there to start eating.  I found the food delicious.

“This food is delicious, who cooked it?”  I asked him

"I."  He answered me to look at him

" do you know how to cook ?"

"Yes"

"Then from now on I'll cook for us" I told him to look at me

"No need for that, I know you're bad at cooking."  I opened my eyes in shock, how did he know that

"You..of course Andrew I'll kill him" I said angrily and William gave a small and quick smile but I caught her

"I'll try to learn to cook" she muttered softly

"Didn't you try to learn before?"

"No.. I mean...yes, but they were unsuccessful attempts."

" Tell me "

" On what ?"

“About your failed attempts,” he said while waiting for me to speak

"It's just boring attempts. Why would you want to hear that?"

"I want to know everything about you, whatever"
