Chapter 9: Chapter 9

I took the bottle of water and gulped nearly everything since I was as tasty as fuck. I was done. I took the sword beside me and threw it at him.

“Take care of it, Andrew. I need to go take a clean bath.”

“Alright, Oceana.’ He replied and bowed before me.

My back was killing me.

Anyway, I’m not so beat and a coward.

That’s how strong I have become and till now, I have heard nothing from my brothers, nor did they care to speak to me.

I wish I could see them, just have a word with them and ask them a lot of questions.

There are some things that I want to ask them, especially Gerard.

Why did he also avoid me? Did Carmine tell him what I caught him doing a few years ago?

Eight years had passed and I still can’t forget about that day.

He was hot.

I strolled along the hallway. A guard ran towards me and bowed.

“Lady Oceana, the Alpha asks for your presence.”

“ Where is he?’

I wanted to take a cold bath. Why is it this time he is calling me?

“In his Chambers, Lady Oceana.” He answered as if he could read my mind. “Now, please.’ He pointed at the door.

I sighed and walked straight to his chambers, opened the door, saw a lot of elders sitting before him, and they bowed the minute they saw me.

“Alpha, I heard you summoned me.” I strolled towards him after bowing before the elders.

“Yes, Oceana.’ He agreed and tossed a paper before me. “We are going to be invaded by the blood venom pack soon, raiding us with their dark power. What should we do, Oceana?’

I looked at everyone, sighed and glanced at the paper in my hands for a couple of minutes, and smiled. “We need to put a powerful force on our defences, strengthen the warriors. We don’t need to go to war with them. Let’s show them what we are made of. That way, they will back away from us and see us as a powerful shield and give us the respect we deserve. If it doesn’t work, which I know it will, we are the pride, the rulers of the ten realms. We will have them dealt with. The other packs will have no choice but to surrender to us.” I elaborated and put down the paper before them and bowed as a sign of respect.

One elder stood up and solemnly stared at me. “What makes you think that strengthening our defences will scare them off? What if they have other plans and we suddenly get a sneak attack at night because of your plan, Alpha Oceana?”

I knew he was trouble, yet I’m smarter than he thinks I am.

“The blood venom pack is no fools. They know they are coming to their grave if they dare attack us. They are the ones at a loss. Because we are the shield of the ten realms, they are the third in rank, so they will never try it. Imagine the thousands of warriors, the powers we’ve got. No, they will never do it and I can bet my life on it. They will think twice before taking such an action.” I boldly uttered, and suddenly they all stood up and clapped for me.

What was going on here?

“I told you that my daughter is no weakling. She’s as strong as the rumours say she is.” My father laughed as he continued to praise me. “She is the best daughter I have ever had, the best of all.”

I’m his only daughter, though. I smiled.

“You are right, Alpha, within this large mansion, they will never dare speak against you and Alpha Oceana is fit to take the position and rule if she were the firstborn in the family.”

Another elder added. “Exactly.” He agreed and turned to my father. “When are Alpha Gérard and Alpha Carmine coming back? I’m yet to see them? It’s been eight years, and people are missing them.”

“They will be coming. As soon as Oceana gets married to her betrothed, the Alpha of the Blood Pride Pack, he desires to have Oceana as his wife and he loves her very much.’ My father uttered with pride.

I will be that bastard’s wife?

Who does he think he is to say he desires me as his wife? He must be stupid in the head. Is he mad?

If only my father had any idea how I so much despise that Alpha, he wouldn’t say nonsense to me.

I wish I could drag the bastard’s head into a dump like the man whore that he is, and I don’t know why no one is talking about that part about him? Everyone thinks he’s so good and responsible.

And Gérard, Carmine. Both of them. Are they coming back for real?

I miss them and I could feel the excitement grow in me.

“Oceana, I can see you just came back from your training. Why don’t you go take a rest and have a good sleep?”

“No worries, Father. I will do that when I’m back from school.”

“Good. Good.’ He nodded, and I bowed once more and exited the chambers.

I stink terribly, with my sweat dripping, and I also had to hastily get ready for school.

I was on my own now, but I lived fine and didn’t bother anyone. I didn’t have to depend on anything. I was in my final years in high school. No one played shit with me, and I was an Alpha.

An Alpha’s got to do what she’s got to do, and no one can stop me.

I was just arriving at my stupid locker that refused to unlock. My day was getting fucking boring and stressful. It’s like time stopped moving.

I checked my wristwatch. I can’t believe that all this time I had gone to the toilet, read a few books in the library and it’s only been five minutes.

What in the freaking world was I thinking, and why wasn’t the time ticking so fast?

Oh man, can’t this day get any better?

Oceana,’ she sang.

I knew Jessie was behind me the minute she covered my eyes with her hands. Her scent, most likely her perfume, soft hands, and her voice gave her away.

“I know it is fucking you, Jessie.’ I laughed.

She immediately took her hands away from my face, giggling.

‘What’s up, wanna go to prom?’ She asked excitedly.

I know what the prom is like.

And, I’m not ready to waste my time because I want to go to some prom. Besides, I don’t have anyone special to go with, except for Jessie. Too bad she’s not a guy or else, I would have told her to accompany me.
