And my parents were as attractive as ever.

I made sure I avoided Gérard’s expression at the dining table to make it more alluring filled with tension, though I knew he was eating, and then I began eating the pasta which was well prepared.

“You look so attractive, my daughter.” My mother seemed pleased and admired me from head to toe. “And so beautiful, this dress brought out your curves, your future husband wouldn’t be able to take his eyes off you.’

“Thanks, Mother.’ I murmured with a smile.

“Wow, you bleached your hair. It’s beautiful, and it suits you more than your previous hair.’ Jessie exclaimed.

“Thanks, Jessie.’ I forced out a smile and looked over at Gerard, who wouldn’t stop staring at me, and I was kind of happy about that.

“Welcome, princess Oceana, you look lovely.’ Emily beamed.

However, I ignored her, acted like I didn’t hear her. I didn’t have her time. She must have been embarrassed, and that served her right.

She should stop acting like she owns the place just because she is married to Gerard.

Anyway, glad I dressed myself up, I didn’t want to look like some depressed vegetable in front of them, especially Gerard and his wife. I loved his posture.

“But she is still beautiful with her red hair, though, especially the time when she hasn't shapeshifted yet.’ Carmine added, but I just rolled my eyes at him.

“That’s the beautiful daughter I gave birth to. None of my children are ugly.” My father said with pride and also acknowledged me, went close to my mother, and kissed her on the lips. “All thanks to my beautiful wife here who gave me adorable children.’ My mother's beauty filled his gazes with passion.

My mother laughed. “Not in front of the kids, dear.’

Carmine pouted with a tease. “Hey, father, we are still here and some of us are single.’

Everyone laughed, except for me.

“That’s why you have to get married as soon as possible, so you can enjoy what I’m receiving from my wife.’ My father chuckled.

‘Exactly, he is getting old, Father.’ Alex giggled.

“Hey, shut up little lad,’ Carmine butted in.

My mother joined in. “But it’s the truth, your brother is not lying, you need your mate by your side, he’s already a man preparing for the future, can’t you see he has found his mate already?’

‘Exactly, a handsome Alpha like me.’ Alex beamed with pride and I felt like throwing my fork at his stupid face.

“That’s right.’ My mother laughed.

Carmine chuckled and raised an eyebrow at him. “I hope you haven’t started touching your mate at this age. You wouldn’t wanna be a father at this age like the handsome Alpha you claim you are.’

“Come on, brother, I can control my hormones. Trust me, I’m not like those perverts out there. I’m a well-respected Alpha in the entire realm and everyone loves me for it.’ I could imagine it, seeing his nose swelling and getting long with a bunch of lies on top of it. What an act.

“Oh, really,’ Carmine smirked. “How old were you again?’

“Have you forgotten my age, my brother? I’m so disappointed in you, how you forget your younger brother’s age, that’s not fair.’

I knew Carmine remembered his age, but he just wanted to pull his legs. “How old are you? Don’t stress my head?” He emphasised as he rolled his eyes at him, taking a sip from his coffee.

“I’m fourteen.’ He replied confidently.

“Weren’t you the one I saw kissing Lucy on the mango tree three days ago, the blonde little princess?’

“Huh.’ He reacted with shock.

“You better don’t stick your dick into her and get her pregnant. She is still young or else I will have your head.”

Everyone burst into laughter at how Alex’s face turned bright red.

I focused on my food, dismissing their chattering, eating, not knowing what it tasted like, if it was sweet or bad, I don’t know, but just kept stuffing the pasta in my mouth.

I suddenly just lost my appetite seeing these two in front of me and how Emily kept feeding Gerard in his mouth as if they were the only lovers in the world.

“We are all gathered as a family today, I am so excited to see all of you because it is a great honour to see all my children getting married and all grown up, it felt like it was just yesterday you were brought to the world.” My father preached and I could hear laughter from him and the rest of them as well.

What were they laughing about, anyway?

I know they were praising him. He is proud of being a father to us, blah, blah, blah, blah, and all, but I was just not interested in all that.

“I’m so happy seeing all of them as well.” My mother added. “They are all grown up, living a healthy life, and about to get married, our reputation, and generation is the greatest of all and I can’t wait to meet my grandchildren if only I will able to see them right away, I will sincerely appreciate it and my shout will be the loudest in the realm, making people gasp with envy.”

My father laughed. “Yes, the Alphas and elders of the council will be blessed to see how high, powerful we’ve become in the realm.”

“Yes, and no one will dare defy me in this clan.” My parents laughed at their words. I took the fork and kept digging into the roasted chicken absentmindedly.

“That will be great. After all, this clan is the best.” The witch, Emily added with a smile. I don’t want her to get on my nerves, but ever since she got married to my brother, I began hating her so much and my feelings grew even more with envy.

I know I shouldn’t loathe her, but I can’t help it. She stole my mate.

My mother turned to me. “Do you like the food?’’

I was about to reply when Jessie spoke the words I will so much loathe to hear. “I love the food. Emily is a splendid cook.’

“Wow, you cooked this?” Carmine quizzed with excitement.

“Yes,” she laughed. “Glad you loved it, Alpha Carmine.’

“You are such a splendid cook.’ He answered cheerfully.

My mother smiled, agreed with Carmine and at that moment, I pushed the food away from me in annoyance.

“I don’t like it. It tastes terrible and shows a lack of ingredients, prepared in a haste.’
