This is madness and I think it’s a bad idea to go to the clan.

No, I should stay here and not go anymore.

I grabbed my phone and called Carmine, who opened the door behind me as soon as I started calling him.

“You are not ready yet?!’ He closed the door and walked closer to me.

“I don’t want to go anymore.’

“Why? Did something happen?’

“I don’t think I should see Oceana. We are fated mates. It would be a bad idea to come across each other again. How am I going to react once I set my eyes on her?!’ I sighed and sat down on the large white furry couch beside the bed as I folded my legs on the other.

“You are nervous.” He uttered and sat down on the bed. “What happened to Emily?!’

“She is angry with me. She hates the fact I don’t care about her, which is not true.”

“Is that why she walked out of the hotel like a raging animal?!”

“Hey, stop that, Carmine.’

“Listen, we have to go home. You can’t avoid it this time.’

“I can.’ I cut in. “Just tell our father something came up and he would understand.’

“Gerard.’ he called my name and faced me properly. “Pull yourself together.’

“Pull myself together?!” I snapped. “Do you have any idea what I’m going through right now?’

“You are going through a nervous breakdown. That’s what’s happening with you. You are going through a nervous breakdown." he said repeatedly. "That's what's happening with you. You wouldn’t be able to gain control over yourself once you see her. Come on, bro, she has suffered a lot too. Oceana is also going through a lot. She wants to look for her mate. She goes through pain searching for a mate and once a wolf turns eighteen and doesn’t make an encounter with her mate, they see it as she is not fated to have a mate. Either she falls in love with someone or the clan or her parents arrange an alpha for her to mate. Oceana is going through hell because she doesn’t have a mate. That’s what she thinks, and her mate is right here with me. Why don’t you tell her? At least, let her know, even if she can’t get you.”

“What’s the use of letting her know? If I had my way, she would never know at all. I don’t want to see any pain in her eyes anymore and I’m sick and tired of seeing those pains in her eyes.’

“Carmine, I’m fated to Oceana. It’s all this not bothering you at all. Aren’t you disgusted? I’m a monster, Carmine.”

“You are not a monster to me. Don’t call yourself that name again. You are Gerard Daciana, and that’s what you will always be. So, drop the crap and face reality head on. Running away or avoiding her is not helping. The truth will surely prevail. I don’t care if she is our sister, you are her mate, and that’s all that matters.’

I got up and walked to the window with glowing deep-blue eyes, facing the view of the city.

“Gerard.’ I could sense Carmine getting up from the bed and walking up to me. “You are not the only one worried about Oceania and the realms. I’m also worried too. But I gotta do what I have to do.’

“Stop talking to me as if I’m some weakling…”

“I’m not talking to you like a weakling. You might be powerful doesn’t mean you don’t have a weakness.”

Suddenly, I felt my lungs tighten, and my breath seized.

I gasped and held my neck. Panting and gagging and gasping painfully.

“What is happening?!’ Carmine quickly rushed to me and I held his shoulders and shook my head multiple times.

“Are you having an asthma attack?!’ he shouted and rushed to where I was pointing at and he quickly opened my bag and took it out.

He came up to me and pointed the inhaler at my nose.

I took it from him, and my body relaxed. I felt a little weak and sat down on my bed.

“Why are you having an asthma attack when there is so much air in here?!”

“I don’t know.’ I shrugged, and after a few minutes, I sighed and closed it.

Carmine also sighed and got closer to me. “Dress up and let’s get going.”

“I know.’ I muttered and almost rolled my eyes at him when he mentioned Emily. “What are you going to do with her?!”

“She’s coming with me, but I’m not showing her to Oceana yet.’

“Why?!’

“Oceana can’t find out she’s my mate and I’m telling her I’m getting married. That would be a lot to take in. She has to know about us being fated mates and then…”

“Okay, if you say so. Just prepare for the worst that’s gonna happen.’

I laughed and felt a slight pain in my abdomen.

“Are you okay?!’

“I’m fine.’ I nodded and looked at him. “Thank you for always being there for me, brother.’

“What are siblings for? Of course I will be there for you, scaredy cat,’ he teased, and I got up and threw my pillows at him. He ran away and dodged it.

“Hey! What are you? A kid?!’ he laughed, and I smirked and grabbed more pillows.

“You know, I never lose, brother, when it gets to a pillow fight.’

“Oh. Oh. Oh. Don’t tell me you are serious about this?’

“Of course, I’m serious, Carmine. Pillow FIGHT.’

“How can an grown ass Alpha like you be playing a pillow fight?!’ he stuck out his tongue at me and I laughed and sneakily threw one pillow at him.

It hit his forehead as he winced. “I’m not doing this with you.’

“Of course you are.’ I laughed so hard at his red face and before I knew what was happening, he threw one at me. I staggered and hit the back of my head on the wall. Wanting to throw another one at him, he was gone.
