Chapter 73: Chapter 73
Bianca’s POV
It’s hard not knowing what your abductors want from you.
Well, I wasn’t blindfolded so I could see everything going on and one thing I realized was there was no way out for me. There was nowhere to run to when we were on the road and when we bypassed security and got to Mainland, Carla pulled out a gun and made sure I kept my lips shut as we made our way to town to a house she said belonged to Andre’s dad. It was a nice house but as we walked past rooms and halls I could see that it was lacking financially.
How many more lies, Andre?
Thinking about him broke my heart because I didn’t know what to think. Just last night we confessed our love to each other and found comfort and pleasure in our bodies. What was he hiding even then? Why wouldn’t he tell me?
Even though my heart fought hard against my doubt it felt like everything was a lie. He and Carla – if her name is Carla at all, had it all planned. The ease with which I was taken out of school shows careful planning. Also, since we arrived here at Andre’s house there have been a group of people coming and going downstairs, talking in hushed tones. The man who had held me so tight while dragging me to the hole they had made in the fence for their escape, Dez, was the only one Carla allowed to bring me food and water. He referred to her as Carol and that makes sense given the tattoo on her wrist. How had I been so foolish to fall for her lies? How didn’t I see through her sad dead sister story?
How many more lies?
Once I heard her and Dez talking and Dez suggested she moved me to another location to which Carol disagreed.
Since she handed me over to Dez’s care she has come in to check on me and I was beginning to wonder if she would come to explain what exactly they wanted from me because if Dez comes into the room with another box of pizza and bottled water I might just scream!
The night passed and the next day Carol finally came into the room dressed in a pair of black jeans and a flannel shirt.
"Are you going to kill me now or what?" I asked.
“Bianca Davies, this is nothing personal,” she smiled.
“Liar!”
She laughed and dropped the pepperoni pizza she brought with her, her eyes drifting to the other boxes I had pushed untouched into a corner.
“You aren’t eating?”
If my legs were not restrained with cords I would have thrown myself at her and fought her with all of my strength. But since I had no way of doing that I swallowed my anger and forced myself to calm down. “I’m pretty sure you would have a hearty appetite if you had been forcefully taken from your home and brought to a strange place for unknown reasons.”
She chuckled. “You always did have a smart mouth, didn’t you? But you were also always very pathetic and false.” her voice dropped to an imitation of mine. “Let’s be friends, Carla. Oh, I’m so sorry your sister died. Come join the cheer team, blah blah blah.” She grimaced. “No, Bianca Davis, I didn’t want to be friends with you and I did not give half a fuck about the cheer team, I wanted to kidnap you. Now eat and sustain your strength because you will be here for a long long time.”
“No. I am not eating anything so you better kill me now and forget about it,” I forced myself to sound strong even though for the second time in 24 hours my heart was breaking. Why do I keep trusting the wrong people? “And if you hope to get some sort of ransom from my parents you will be sorely disappointed.” Poor Mom and Dad. They must be worried right now thinking about how to get me back. I was worried about them and how they would raise the money to get me back. Well, how much does Carol want? She hasn't mentioned her price and I found that strange.
Carol suddenly came to squat in front of me. Her flannel shirt was bunched up at the side and I could clearly see her gun. Loaded or not, I am not taking any chances by getting shot while trying to escape so I sat there and watched her.
“I don’t need your money, although that would be a nice addition but from what I hear Siobhan is the one with the money. I need my boyfriend back.”
I frowned. “Your boyfriend?
“Yes, I need Andre back because you stole him from me.”
I would have laughed at the stupidity of the whole situation if I didn’t think she was serious. But a lot of things became clearer. Her insane obsession with him, her anger at Siobhan for being his girlfriend, and the constant creepy glares directed my way…she must have known about Andre and me even before we accepted our feelings for each other.
She chuckled again and tapped my cheek. “I always knew you were a smart one, Davies, from the look on your face I see you’ve already grasped the situation. Yes, Andre is my plaything and playthings should easily be discarded but unfortunately, when a plaything becomes a favorite, it must be kept forever. I want Andre back and if you must go back home he must come back to me.”
I couldn’t believe my ears or the truth ringing in my head. I knew it was true yet I didn’t want to believe it. “All these while…was it just me? Where did Siobhan come in in this sick game of yours?!”
“Don’t you dare raise your voice at me, Bianca, you are my prisoner remember?” she asked raising a brow to make sure her warning was clear. “As for Siobhan, the plan was the lure her here. Bring her here, demand a ransom. That was always the plan until Andre had to go ahead and fall for you!” she spat with hate. “Twice! Twice he could have brought her here but every time he failed because of you. Because of Bianca Davis! The girl who stole Andre from me!”
My throat was tight with unshed tears as it dawned on me that she wasn’t just bluffing, I might be here for a long time.
My only source of salvation was Andre. If he tells anyone about the whole story, that would be the key to finding me.
Now the question is; will he?
How do I know I can trust him anymore after everything that has happened? How do I know I can trust him when his arrival at Edwin and Co. was based on a lie from the very start? Would he be willing to sacrifice himself so that I can return home?

Andre’s POV
A feather could have dropped right at that moment and it would have been loud enough to raise the dead. I don’t know who was more surprised. Anton? Bianca’s parents? Me?
Everyone stared at Edna Hayes as she shook her head vigorously as though trying to convince herself of something. She clasped her hand to her heaving chest and glanced at Michelle Davis again. The smaller, petite woman though she had tears in her eyes, didn’t look half as surprised as the rest of us.
“What are you talking about Edna? Have you lost your mind?” Anton asked as he took a single step back.
“I haven’t,” she wheezed. “I-I can explain and…it was very selfish of me but I can explain.”
“Edna?” it was the first time I heard Cole Davies call her name and it was also the first time he looked her right in the eye. Since arriving with his wife, Bianca’s mother, he only passed her flitting glances. Maybe I noticed this because I am the outsider here and no one but Siobhan was consciously aware of my presence.
Edna glanced at him and looked away quickly while wiping fresh tears from the corner of her eyes.
“Cole, Michelle,” she said in a soft voice. “It seems like this is the second time I will break your trust.”
“Fuck yeah, Edna and you better start speaking!” Bianca’s dad was getting exasperated now. It seemed like for the moment everyone forgot about the matter at hand and were now more interested in understanding this new development. “What do you mean Bianca is your daughter? That can’t be right. There were two girls, one for me and the other for you. Siobhan and Bianca, they are not twins so what are you talking about? If Bianca is your daughter then where’s my daughter?! Michelle, did you know about this?”
Bianca’s mom cried, her shoulders shaking violently. “I wasn’t sure but…but I had my suspicions.”
“Mom?” Siobhan asked. She was the most confused out of everyone. “Is there something I should know?”
Edna nodded.
“Then you better start speaking before I lose my patience,” Anton warned. “First you drugged Cole and fucked him now you steal his child?!”
“I was a desperate woman okay?!” Edna yelled, her hazel eyes shimmering with tears. “I was desperate that’s why I did what I did and why I had to…I’m sorry!”
