Dear Diddy,
Everyone knows me as the love child between Chris Matic - yes that super hot actor from the Revengers movie and my mom is Kendall Brentwood – yes the Kendall Brentwood and guess what? Chris’s legitimate daughter is in my class! She wants to make friends with me but I can’t help but feel she’s trying to trick me into becoming friends with her just so she can easily bully me. What do you think I should do? I feel guilty already that my mom made her dad cheat on her mom!
_ HELP!
Dear HELP!
She might genuinely want to get make friends with you which means there’s no cause for alarm. She mostly likely sees a kindred spirit in you. You both are kids and you aren’t responsible for your parents cheating on each other. But I will advise you to be cautious about your friendship with her since you have nothing to lose by being careful. That way you don’t set yourself up to be bullied.
-Diddy.
“Where were you yesterday night? I was looking for you!”
Siobhan nonchalantly licked the butter off her fingers and reached for the jam on the dining table. “I was busy. Why are you so worried?” She raised her green eyes to look at me and for a second I saw the selfish Siobhan that could sometimes rare its ugly head. “Why are you so worried?” she asked again.
I lowered my head to speak while still keeping an eye on the table of raucous Class 1 Juniors. Aaron was holding the fort but I wanted to make sure he didn’t need my help. “Your boyfriend came looking for you yesterday night.”
“Andre?” her eyes sparkled. “Oh my God, what did he say?!”
I cast a glance at the table Andre and his newfound friends sat at. Every Class 3 senior wanted to be friends with the new boy while they ignored his twin even though she was just as pretty – okay so she was quiet and more reserved than the almighty Andre Rios. I felt sorry for her just seeing her sitting there by herself eating her breakfast.
“Hey!” Siobhan tapped my arm until she got my attention. “What did Andre say?”
Well, where do I even start?! He said a lot and made it clear I wasn’t to keep you away from him. But I couldn’t tell her that because I know my best friend. Siobhan would dump the whole idea of trying to get him if she knew he threatened me. Besides, there was still the business of figuring out where exactly she was last night. I nudged her aside so that she made space for me to seat.
“Not until you tell me where you were last night.”
She rolled her eyes. “Does it matter?!”
“It does if you want to hear what Andre had to say.”
She pouted her lips in a typical Siobhan way. “Alright fine. I was hooking up with someone. I wasn’t in my apartment though.”
“And?”
“And what?”
“Well, who were you hooking up with? I thought you wanted to get Andre’s attention? How do you want to achieve that when you’re hooking up with someone else?”
“Oh, poor sweet Bianca. That’s the rule of the game, don’t you know that? I want Andre to know I’m into him but not too much that he thinks that I’m desperate. I want him to know I have other options so he knows what he’s missing.” She glanced at Andre. “For now he’s confident he has me, but I’ll get his attention one way or another.”
“How will you do that?”
She thought about that for a while then snapped her fingers and smiled. “That’s it! A party!”
“A party?” Shewa asked coming closer. She had just gotten her tray of toast and eggs.
“It’s the beginning of the term, Siobhan we can’t…” I started but she put a finger to my lips and shushed me like a kid.
“All the more reason to assert my dominance as soon as possible. I’ll throw the first party and I’ll be known as the girl who threw the first party this term. That’s a solid message to the competition. And,” she gave me that sly Siobhan look she always gave whenever she needed a favor. “As Head girl, if you help me plan this I’ll have more power on my side, don’t you think?"
I didn’t know what to say because I just couldn’t believe she would do all this to beat the competition for a guy who already had eyes for her and only her. I guess she’s just trying to solidly stake her claim.
She was looking at me expectantly, waiting for me to say something.
“Fine,” I agreed because I know there is no way I’m walking out of this one. “What do you want me to do?”
She shrieked and hugged me drawing attention from the other Class 3 seniors’ table. Andre’s eyes drifted toward us and I looked away quickly before our eyes made contact.
“Spread the word, darling Bianca, and watch me get the man of my dreams.”
Shewa threw her hands up. “Wait you guys I know we are talking about a party but are we trying to get someone’s attention here?”
‘’Yup. Siobhan is trying to get Andre’s attention.”
Shewa laughed. “Good luck with that. I heard Eva was already making her moves last night. Janet saw her knocking on his apartment last night.”
Siobhan’s eyes were wide. “That bitch!” she cast an evil glance poor Eva's way. “Did he open up?”
“Aaron opened up. You know they share an apartment for now until his apartment is ready. I didn’t see Andre come out if that’s any consolation.”
That’s because he was in my apartment, I thought to myself. God, I need to get these two together as fast as possible before I get myself in trouble.
“If you are going to get his attention,” Shewa warned. “You better do it as fast as possible because he is hot on the market.”
Siobhan looked desperate when she glanced at me. “They are out to get my man. That party is happening this Saturday. And it’s going to be hot!”
