Chapter 509: Chapter 509
At the moment the No. 1 fighter jet was swallowed by a black hole, the diamond patterns on the backs of Gu Qiye, You Ruirui, Oda Ehgo, and Garfield’s hands suddenly emitted a deep blue light.
Immediately after, their figures were engulfed by the intense light and disappeared from the fighter jet’s cockpit.
After a while, when they regained consciousness, they found themselves brought back beside Urushibara Ryuri, inside the No. 2 fighter jet. The cockpit space was limited, considered cramped. But the five of them still had to squeeze in together, as there was no way to kick others out.
Garfield sighed, controlling the No. 2 fighter jet to immediately leave Nameless Island. Departing from the island’s edge, it flew straight towards Osaka, Japan.
During this time, the fighter jet maintained camouflage mode, so there should be no worry of being caught up by the Bee Race.
You Ruirui was the first to look at Gu Qiye, reaching out to pull the fainted Gu Qiye towards her and creating an ice pillow to support the back of his head.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
Gu Qiye couldn’t respond. His body still hadn’t shaken off the effects of Qiao’s poison, currently immobilized like a vegetative state, with only his brain seemingly functioning normally.
After thinking for a moment, You Ruirui simply removed the ice block under his head, letting him lie on her lap.
"You’re so slow. If we had died there, how would you have explained yourself?" Garfield turned his head from the pilot seat and gave Urushibara Ryuri a cold glance. Tʜe sourcᴇ of thɪs content ɪs 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝⚫𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖⚫𝕟𝕖𝕥
"The signal on the island was poor, by the time I got your message, it was already too late." Urushibara Ryuri smiled.
Oda Ehgo hadn’t yet recovered from the surprise attack earlier. He slowly calmed the gloom on his face, sheathed his sword, and sat down silently.
Just before leaving, he used his superpower to draw a void that swallowed hundreds of Light-Eating Bees, ensuring they would be lost forever in the chaotic currents of time and space.
If Urushibara Ryuri hadn’t sent them away, he could at least have exterminated half of the Light-Eating Bees on the island.
But the issue lay with those four Bee Princes.
Just the physical prowess displayed by the Great Bee Lord Qiao was formidable, let alone the fact that the other three Bee Princes hadn’t yet taken action. Who knows what extraordinary abilities they might awaken after devouring the superpower users.
Everything remained uncertain. If they rushed into battle, they would undoubtedly be the ones suffering losses.
Urushibara Ryuri turned her head to look at Gu Qiye and curiously asked, "Is he poisoned? Or is it the Bee Prince’s superpower?"
You Ruirui remained silent.
"Most likely both." Garfield said, "The poison carried by ordinary Light-Eating Bees doesn’t have a significant effect on the human body, as confirmed by researchers. Therefore, this poison might be a superpower of that Bee Prince."
"It seems we shouldn’t engage in close combat with those Bee Princes. The first Bee Prince to attack us had incredible physical strength." Oda Ehgo mused, glancing at Gu Qiye, "Additionally, simply touching its body will result in being poisoned and immobilized."
"Not necessarily, it could also be from contact with its blood." Garfield said, "The newcomer just used a hand blade to pierce the Great Bee Lord’s palm, and the poison might have spread at that moment."
"Let’s discuss it later." Oda Ehgo pondered, "For now, the priority is to get the newcomer back and check his physical condition."
Garfield raised the collar of his sweater to cover his mouth, "I’ll go full speed then, since the reconnaissance mission is already over."
"I’m not sure if the poison will be harmful to your body, so I’ll freeze you first to keep your blood in its current state." You Ruirui looked down at Gu Qiye and softly said, "Once we return to the association, I’ll unfreeze you."
With that, her right hand was coated with a layer of ice, which she slowly slid over his body.
Meanwhile, in a remote bookstore in Osaka, Japan, not too far from the island.
Su Wei unlocked the bookstore’s door with a key and then pulled up the shutter door.
He carried a suitcase with his right hand, while Gu Zhuo Case behind him also carried a suitcase. Under the blazing sun, the heat was oppressive. The two walked into the bookstore, then found the power switch.
After turning it on, they immediately used the remote control at the counter to turn on the air conditioning, to avoid being stifled in this large oven.
"This is the accommodation arranged for me by the Exorcist Association, we’re safe here." Su Wei put down his suitcase behind the counter, took off his glasses, and wiped his sweat with a handkerchief.
"Another bookstore?" Gu Zhuo Case asked.
He knew that his father-in-law was a significant hidden figure within the Exorcists and at the same level as Lake Hunting, so having such treatment was not surprising.
"Reading more books is beneficial for you... When I was young, I often let Su Ying read too, but she didn’t have the patience." Su Wei put his glasses back on and smiled, "By the way, they said there are rooms upstairs where you can choose which suits you."
At this point, he suddenly paused, "Looks like our young friend has arrived in Osaka."
Su Wei turned his head, his gaze towards the ceiling of the bookstore.
"Young friend?" Gu Zhuo Case muttered.
Although he couldn’t sense the presence of the uninvited guest, Gu Zhuo Case also noticed a change in the air flow, causing him to look up at a corner of the ceiling.
A gigantic, pitch-black cocoon slowly emerged and cracked open as Black Cocoon stuck his head out. He used a restraint belt to place the book "My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute" on the shelf, then hung upside down, looking at the two of them.
"Long time no see, Mr. Ghost Bell, and... um," he coughed twice and quickly corrected himself, "Mr. Su Wei."
"Black Cocoon..." Gu Zhuo Case frowned and squinted his eyes.
After so many days, he finally arrived at the master mind who had been secretly guiding everything.
"Mr. Ghost Bell? Mr. Su Wei? Do you really need to be so formal?" Su Wei smiled slightly, looking at Black Cocoon through his glasses.
"Uh... It’s correct to maintain distance between collaborators; if the relationship is too close, it wouldn’t be called collaboration." Black Cocoon said languidly, "How to maintain boundaries with others in interpersonal relationships is a philosophy. I’ve been improving these abilities in the past few months."
As he spoke, he used the restraint belt to pick books from the shelf, finally taking out a comic of "Attack on Titan."
Su Wei chuckled silently, sat down behind the counter, and opened a suitcase.
He bent down, took out a thermos, unscrewed the lid, and took a sip.
He said, "This bookstore has been closed for a long time, not operating. You can take any book you want to read without my permission."
"Alright." Black Cocoon raised his eyebrows, "Then I won’t be polite. By the way..." he pointed upstairs with the restraint belt, "Is there a room for me upstairs?"
Gu Zhuo Case looked up, glaring at him with eyes that could almost shoot fire.
"No room then, why get so angry?" Black Cocoon shrugged, "It’s like I’m going to steal your rice, although I usually eat it openly."
"There’s a room for you upstairs," Su Wei replied quite differently, "Choose any you like."
Gu Zhuo Case couldn’t understand why his father-in-law was so polite to this mysterious character.
"Mr. Su Wei, thank you for your kindness, but considering there’s a rampaging bull living next door, suddenly I don’t want to stay here, so forget it." Black Cocoon spread his hands.
"How is Qiye’s side?" Gu Zhuo Case asked.
"He hasn’t gotten back to me yet," Black Cocoon said, "But the entire Rainbow Wings should be in this city; they’re currently investigating the Light-Eating Bees."
He paused: "I won’t say much, but I have a friend who is also investigating the Light-Eating Bees, so he decided to join our operation."
"Don’t be in a rush, he’s almost here. Our little prince is more punctual than anyone."
After saying that, Black Cocoon glanced at the time on his phone.
He looked up, suddenly lowering his voice mysteriously, "Before he arrives, let me introduce my collaborator. He is... the Third Prince of the Whale Royal Court, the King’s designated heir, a genius Anecdote Envoy seen once every few hundred years, the human form of the Blue-Eyed White Dragon with white hair and blue eyes. He can be both serious and cute, and he’s also one of the five generations..."
Black Cocoon was interrupted just as he was speaking.
"There’s no room for so many people in my bookstore." Su Wei said irritably.
"Alright, then I’ll just say one name." Black Cocoon raised a finger, looking at Su Wei and then at the impatient Gu Zhuo Case, "Doctor Zelcy, you guys know this one, right?"
"Doctor Zelcy...?" Gu Zhuo Case frowned.
"Oh, Zhuo Case mentioned it to me; he said it’s a highly capable Anecdote Envoy capable of regenerating severed limbs," Su Wei looked up and said.
"That’s right, it’s him." With that, Black Cocoon suddenly extended a restraint belt, pointing to the door.
In the summer sunshine, a white-haired teenager walked in slowly. He was wearing a T-shirt and shorts, carrying a brown backpack, and holding a bottle of Ramune soda, seemingly bought on the way.
Cezar took a deep breath, tugged at the front part of his T-shirt, and to avoid his hair getting wet with sweat, he tied a small ponytail like Li Qingping.
"Who is this?" Gu Zhuo Case asked, evidently having never seen Zelcy, the doctor’s true face, nor believing that such a masterful Anecdote Envoy could be just a child.
Cezar looked up, smiling warmly at Su Wei and Gu Zhuo Case, "Hello, Mr. Su Wei, Mr. Ghost Bell, I’m Cezar."
As he spoke, he unzipped his brown backpack.
As the zipper was opened, a round shark head popped out right away, grinning at the three people in the bookstore, revealing a row of small sharp teeth.
Cezar patted the top of the little shark’s head and introduced, "This is my good friend—Yaguba, and it will help you along with me."
The little shark rode the black tide, flying out of the backpack and landing on Cezar’s shoulder.
It hugged its fins, looked up at the three people in the bookstore, and squinted mischievously, "What are you gaping at? Aren’t you going to welcome Shark Shark?!"
