Chapter 25: Chapter 25

Clara's POV

I woke up still feeling dizzy. I looked around and remembered that I had rushed to my library earlier. "Are you busy, love?" I mind-linked Erik. I was hoping that we could eat lunch together.

"A little. Why what's wrong?" He asked. Worry is evident in his voice.

"Want to eat lunch with you," I said.

"I won't be finishing this work until late afternoon, sweetheart."

I felt dejected, it's been a while since we ate together, so I was hoping we could eat lunch today. "How about we have a dinner date? Hmm?" He added. My feeling of loneliness changed into excitement.

"Of course!" I said. I was not hiding the fact that I was happy at his invitation.

I felt Erik being relieved, and I giggled. "I'll tell you when you have to get ready," He said. I stood up from my sofa and went to the kitchen. I saw Angela chatting with Melissa, sitting at the long table.

"Hi, what's for lunch?" I asked, sitting beside them. Melissa gave me a plate, and Angela served me some food.

"Melissa made some pasta," Angela said, smiling at me.

I tasted the pasta and couldn't help but eat some again. "It's delicious!" I exclaimed, looking at Melissa. She scratched the back of her neck, feeling bashful. "Alpha, I gave some orders to set a romantic date for you," Melissa said, bumping her shoulders to mine. I smiled happily, showing my excitement to them.

"It's been a while since we had a chance to eat together," I explained.

"Anyways, what about your plans?" I asked her if she was planning on traveling before the war, but now that everything is returning to place now, she could travel more safely than the last time.

"I won't be traveling anymore," She said. I stopped eating and looked at her properly.

"Why?"

Angela and I looked at each other, worried that something had happened to Melissa that caused her to stop pursuing her dream to travel.

"I, uh, met someone," She said, feeling shy. She turned her head, avoiding our stares.

I squealed and hugged her. "Who is it?!" Angela asked, getting excited.

"You'll know it soon," She said, looking down at her hands.

"Our little Melissa found her mate! Does Erik know?" I asked, getting worried. Erik is somewhat overprotective.

"We will be talking to him later after he meets with the Alphas," She explained. So he was at the meeting, a little busy, huh? He is so busy! Well, Erik won't promise something that he cannot fulfill.

"I am happy for you," I said, telling her my genuine feeling.

"He must be from another pack, seeing that you both need to talk to Alpha," Angela said. My eyes grew big, realizing my words to Angela. Melissa needs to move there if her mate has a position in the other pack.

I looked at Melissa, frowning. "Don't be like that. I'll always visit you guys," She said. Confirming that she would indeed leave the pack.

Angela and I forced our smiles on Melissa and hugged her both. "We are happy for you, and we will miss you so much," Angela said.

"Don't you dare forget to visit? That's an order from your Queen," I said, smirking at her.

"Well, you are now using your authority, huh?" Melissa said, touching her chin. Angela laughed, and I crossed my arms, smirking at her playfully.

Melissa rolled her eyes, and we all laughed. I continued gobbling my food, and Melissa said her goodbyes, saying she would now prepare the thing Erik ordered. After finishing all my food, I talked to Angela a bit more and went to our room to look for something to wear.

I picked the dresses Erik bought for me that I hadn't used. This pure black dress will show my body's shape, and this white dress looks like it should be used for a wedding. Then I saw this backless red dress and tried wearing it. The dress clings to my body more than the black dress, and it looks lovely on me.

I peeked outside to see if Ian was there, and he was standing at the side of our door, looking all serious. "Hey, let's go for a run?" I asked.

"I'm sorry, Luna. It is dangerous," He said, and I frowned at him.

I still walked and headed straight outside, knowing that he would follow me in the end. "Luna, Alpha will be furious!" He exclaimed, and I stopped walking to glance at him from behind. I sighed and rolled my eyes at him.

"We will be running through our grounds. It won't be that dangerous," I said and continued walking until I reached outside.

Ian became wary at every movement he could hear and feel around us. I smiled at him, thankful that he was protecting me with all he got. I want to have a run and feel my wolf. Angeline stopped responding, but I could feel her presence. I don't know if something happened to her or if she is avoiding me. I shook my head to remove my silly thoughts and shifted to my wolf form.

I became more prominent than the last time in my wolf form, and my pure white fur was highlighted with gold. So I don't need to introduce myself because if one looks at my wolf, they can instantly know it's me because of the color gold on my fur.

I ran with all my strength causing me to taste the air. I can hear the twigs that I stepped on breaking on the ground. I swiftly avoided the rocks and trees.

When I was tired, I signaled Ian to return, and we started running to the pack house. Ian ran behind a tree and shifted. He showed himself minutes later, wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt and holding an oversized t-shirt, passing it to me. I went behind a tree and wore the shirt.

I went to our room to shower when I saw Lia and Melissa outside our room. I gave them a questioning look, confused, thinking maybe something had happened while I took a run.

"What's wrong?" I asked when I got closer to them.

"Nothing, we will be helping you to prepare," Lia replied. I felt relieved that nothing wrong had happened.

"Is it too early?" I asked, opening the door to our room.

"We need to make sure that everything will be perfect," Melissa said, pushing me inside the room.

"You go and change before coming back here," I heard Lia ordering Ian.

I giggled at how Ian gets nervous whenever Lia orders him around. It was apparent that he was somewhat scared of his mate. "So, what will you wear?" Lia asked, closing the door from behind.

I walked towards the bed, picked up the dress, raised it in front of me, and showed it to them. "It looks wonderful," Melissa gasped, and I smiled.

"Now go and take a shower," Lia said, getting the dress from me.

I opened the shower and brushed my teeth while waiting for the water to warm. After brushing my teeth, I removed my shirt and entered the cubicle to take a shower. I enjoyed every drop of the warm water on my skin. Closing my eyes, I felt my headache again. I shook my head, trying to remove the pain. It ached for a while, but then the pain was gone like it was never there.

I finished taking a shower, wore my robe, and looked in the mirror. I thought I saw someone from behind for a second, so I turned and looked around, but it was only me. It was a beautiful woman smiling at me. Confused at what was happening, I went out to the bathroom and focused on getting changed for my date with Erik.

"Go and wear the dress. We will be waiting," Lia said, giving me the dress she had taken earlier. I took it and entered our walk-in closet.

I went out, feeling anxious about their reaction. I looked at them. Lia gasped and covered her mouth using both hands while Melissa kept nodding.

"How do I look? I think it's too much," I said, starting to regret my decision.

"Are you joking? It's perfect," Melissa said, pulling me towards a chair.

"Sit down and let us do the rest," Lia said. They both became busy doing something on my hair and face.

After half an hour, they stood in front of me, eyeing me from head to toe. Lia nodded and clapped her hands. "You're ready," She said. I stood up and walked toward the mirror to look at myself.

"Wow," I said. It was the only word that I managed to say.

I looked back at them and smiled. "Thank you," I said.

"Enjoy your night," Melissa said and winked at me. I blushed at what she said. They said goodbye and left the room.

I kept staring through the mirror, asking myself if it was too much since we would have dinner.

"Are you ready, my life?" Erik asked, mind-linking me.

"Yes, I am."

"Can you come to the place where it all started?" He said. I thought of a place where everything started.

I smiled, remembering the first time we met. I was looking and enjoying the scenery when suddenly he came.

That's how we met. It was that place. I smiled and held my gown, rushing to go where he was. I walked carefully, trying not to ruin the dress until I found a path. It was not there when I last came here, but someone made a path so you can walk properly.

I followed the path, and I saw rose petals on the way. I carefully scanned the area, looking at the scenery. I continued walking, following the rose petals, and then he was standing beside the table with two chairs.

Erik smiled. I was on the verge of tears when I remembered that Melissa and Lia did their best to make me look beautiful. Erik offered his hand when I got closer and supported me while sitting down.

"Angela cooked this for us," He said, removing the cover of the food. I gasped when I saw the food. The food looks so expensive that it would be a waste to eat it. Erik then sat down in front of me and served me some food.

"It's been a while since we both ate together," I said, feeling the loneliness again. He was so busy, and the war happened. So much has happened in the last couple of weeks that we haven't had the chance to be together for a long time.

Third Person's POV

The couple is eating happily, discussing everything they can think of. Clara felt lonely and depressed at the recent events, and Angeline, her wolf, stopped responding to her. She was so happy that she thought her heart would explode. Everything was perfect for her: the night, the scenery, the weather, and the handsome mate sitting in front of her.

After eating and telling stories for a bit, Erik stood, grabbing her hand of Clara for her to stand up. They both were standing, holding each other's hand, facing each other.

"Ever since what happened to my family, I got scared to build my own. So I focused on our pack to be the strongest and a good leader. I never thought of looking for my mate, but now I regret not looking for you," Erik said.

Clara looked into his eyes, trying her best to stop her tears from falling. She squeezed the hand of Erik and looked him straight in the eyes. "I am thankful I met you and found out that you were my mate," Clara replied. Erik smiled at her and kissed one of her hands.

"You are the best thing that ever happened to my life, and even if it all starts over again, I'll always pick you. I've been in love with you from the moment I looked at those beautiful eyes," Erik said. Clara couldn't stop her tears from falling, her heart beating fast to his words.

Erik wiped tears off Clara, kissed her forehead, and kneeled on one knee. Clara's eyes grew big, surprised at Erik's sudden movement. She lifted her arms and covered her mouth using both of her hands.

"Clara Lee, my Luna, my Queen, Will you marry me and spend the rest of your life by my side?" Erik proposed, getting a small box from his pocket and opening it. A ring was inside the small box, a simple, elegant ring with a big stone in the middle.

Clara sobbed, nodding at Erik non-stop. She cried like tomorrow would never come. Erik put the ring on Clara's finger and stood up to kiss Clara. They kissed passionately, their loved ones revealed themselves, some of them were crying while the others shouted, and they clapped and congratulated the engaged couple.

Vincent was sobbing at the side, couldn't accept that her one and only sister was getting married, but deep inside, he was so happy for his sister and best friend.

Everyone was happy, hugging each other and congratulating the couple. The girls flock beside Clara, praising her ring, and the boys cheer their glasses for Erik. Everyone was so happy until something happened.

Clara shouted. Everyone was surprised and shocked to see Clara crying and screaming. Clara hugged her head, trying to lessen the pain. Erik let go of his glass, causing it to break on the ground. Everyone rushed to Clara's side.

Clara was shouting hysterically. "Agh! My head! Make it stop, make it stop!!!" Clara cried, begging them to stop the pain that she was feeling in her head. Tia tried some spells, but her spells were no use.

"Something else is causing this! It keeps on rejecting my spells!" She explained to Erik.

Suddenly, the shouting went down. Clara was trying to catch her breath, and Erik supported her when she tried standing up. They were about to go back to the pack house.

The intense high-pitched ringing was heard in Clara's head. She shouted and collapsed. Luckily Erik caught her. Seeing Clara unconscious, Erik gritted his teeth due to anger.

"CALL ALL AVAILABLE DOCTORS AND FIND THAT BASTARD WHO CAUSED THIS!" Erik shouted, releasing all of his aura, mixing it with so much killing intent. Everyone trembled, scared at what their King could do. They bowed and dispersed.

Erik rushed to the pack house while carrying the body of her unconscious mate.

"Please be okay, please," He pleaded.
