Erik’s POV

Vincent left some papers containing some information about the Alphas who are going to visit. Some of them are on their way and will arrive this evening.

I lifted my head when I heard some knocking on the door, I fixed the papers and set them aside. “Come in,” I said. The door opened and I saw Tia enter.

“I need to ask for permission,” She said, not wasting any time. She sat in the chair in front of my table.

“Permission in what?” I asked, raising my brow.

“You saw how my former place is, right?”

I nod at her. I clearly remember her place when we went there. The forest was full of life and anyone would love to live there for sure. Clara was so amazed that she talked about it for days.

“What about it?” I asked using my Alpha tone.

“I’ll be doing it here. I’ll make your land my domain to strengthen my powers. I could have defeated her but because I just came here I cannot use my full power” She explained. I got confused at what she was telling me and I could only give her a questioning look as a reply. She sighed and faced me properly.

“Our powers came from the earth. It is connected to nature, it is what you call, energy. If I connect my energy to the energy of this land it will surely boost my powers. The energy of this land will boost my power while my energy will become fertilizer for this land. I can make a barrier to the whole territory like the barrier you encountered at my former place. My powers will not be limited if that is the case” She explained.

So that's how it works I thought. “If you can boost your powers using the energy of the earth, why didn’t you do it before the war?” I wondered why she didn’t do it when it could be a great chance for us during the war.

“Because it could take a month, I need a place where no one can disturb me. The full moon is getting near. It is a perfect time to start” She said using her most serious tone.

I started thinking about what part of our territory would be a great place for her.

“And,” She said, breaking the silence. I looked at her and she smiled. “It is the perfect time for your coronation,” She added. My eyes grew big at what she said and held my chin to think about it. I haven’t got the chance to ask Clara about the procedures, thinking maybe her parents told her something.

“Don’t think too deeply about the procedures. Don’t forget, I lived for a thousand years” She said reading what I am thinking. Yes, she lived for a thousand years so she knew about royals more than we do.

I smiled at her. “I’ll think of a perfect place for you. I’ll contact Vincent when it is done” I said.

“Um,” She said, feeling awkward.

“Why?”

“It is a good idea for you to just call me here. We um, we are not on talking terms” She explained, hesitant to tell me their situation. It must be about the thing that Vincent was complaining about earlier.

“Is it about the marking?” I asked.

Her eyes grew big, surprised that I knew. She sighed and scratched the back of her neck, feeling nervous.

“Yes, it’s not that I don’t want to but,” She said, swinging her arms in the air and standing, she started pacing around in front of me.

“But?” I asked.

“If he marks me I can feel all of it and I’ll be connected to the pack link right?” She asked while looking at me awkwardly.

“I need to close my mind and emotions while I am connecting my energy to the earth. If I am connected to the link, It will just hinder the process and I will start all over again” She explained.

“Surely if you explain it to him, he will understand,” I said, curious at what she will be telling next.

“I tried but he stormed out of the room and always came back late, telling me he’s busy at work and suddenly he stopped talking to me,” She said, feeling frustrated that she can’t even explain properly.

I sighed at what she said, Vincent can be so sensitive at times.

“Anyways, I need your help on something,” I said, using my Alpha tone. When she saw me looking serious she calmed herself and sat down.

“What can I do for you?” She asked with full of seriousness in her voice.

“Countless Alphas will be coming for a visit and since you’re the beta female it will be your task to manage this sort of thing aside from Luna,” I said. She just sat there and listened to every word I said.

“Make sure that the house will be decorated appropriately, which can make them intimidated. Where they can say that they are in the place of the Royals” I explained.

She smirked and clicked her tongue. “I know what you mean, don’t worry. Leave it to me” She said and hurriedly left the office feeling excited about her task. She must have been doing this in the past. I said to myself.

I continued scanning the papers Vincent had provided me and when I finished checking the information on the different Alphas, I started doing my paperwork.

Clara’s POV

I woke up and felt that I was wearing clothes, I remembered that I slept after we did it. My eyes grew big, suddenly remembering the scenes that happened earlier. I covered my face using both of my hands, feeling embarrassed. I looked at myself and I was clean and wearing fresh clothes. I smiled, feeling thankful for my mate.

“Angeline?” I called out for her, trying to check if she would respond. I would like to talk to her about what happened but she still doesn’t want to respond.

I just smiled for myself and forced myself out of the bed. I stood up but couldn’t move, my legs felt weak and my privates hurt. As I was trying to stand up, someone knocked at the door. “You may come in” I shouted, enough for them to hear.

The door in the room opened and I saw Lia pushing some sort of cart with the food on it. It must be Erik I thought. I smiled at Lia who was entering the room and pushing the cart full of food in front of me. She gave me a knowing look and smirked at me. I felt embarrassed and I knew my ears were red now.

“How is it?” She asked, sitting beside me in the bed. I smiled, jokingly pushing her away from me. “Whaaat, I just wanted to know. Even if you try to deny it, your scent is mixed with his” She said explaining what she was smelling. My eyes grew big and surprised at the new information, I chewed the food that I put in my mouth hurriedly.

“Really?” I asked her, my voice higher than usual.

“Everybody was talking about it, they were happy that both of you finished the mating process, they say Alpha’s scent is now mixed with yours, and being close to you right now confirmed it,” She said, shrugging her shoulders.

Am I the only one who is feeling embarrassed about the situation? I facepalmed, trying to calm my embarrassment until I suddenly thought of something and faced Lia. “When you and Ian, um, you know, did it, do it, um, hurt?” I asked nervously.

Lia laughed and hugged me tightly. “You are so cute,” She said while hugging me. I pouted at her when she broke the hug. “Of course it does, but don’t worry, it won’t hurt next time,” She said while standing up, hearing her say next time reminded me of when Erik and I did it. I felt my face is hot and knew that my face was red like a tomato. She winked at me and waved her hands as a goodbye, my eyes followed her until she left the room and I inwardly screamed. IT IS SO EMBARRASSING! I thought.

I shook my head and just continued gobbling the food that was served to me.

I took a shower after finishing my food. I had trouble standing up at first but I managed in the end. I wanted to go outside and roam around or talk to the pack in the kitchen but my privates still hurt when I walked for long. I tried to go back to sleep or rearrange our clothes in our walk-in closet but I am still bored. Even though it still hurts, I forced myself to walk toward my library. As I went out of the room, I saw Ian standing outside. He always follows me around, sometimes he is following me secretly thinking that I don’t know but I always feel his presence around me.

I shrugged my shoulders at my thought and headed straight to my library. The smell of books greeted me when I entered and I instantly felt excited. Erik always changes the books at my library, which is why I am always excited to read new ones whenever I come here. I picked one and positioned myself in the chair to start reading.

Erik’s POV

“Come in,” I said when I heard someone knocking and I saw Tia smiling confidently at me.

“That was fast,” I said.

“Who do you think I am?” She must be proud of what she prepared.

“And, what can I do for you?” I asked, curious at the real reason she was here.

“I prepared your clothes and Clara’s, for this evening when you greet the guests,” She said. I was about to say no need when I knew that she knew better.

“Thanks for that, you can just leave mine there on the couch while sending Clara’s dress to our room” I ordered. I knew that she was already awake, I felt her feeling embarrassed countless times earlier.

She is thinking about our sex I thought.

“Don’t use formalities later on when you greet them. I’ll instruct Clara later because I will be helping her with the dress” She said and stood to leave the clothes that she prepared for me.

“Yes ma’am” I replied sarcastically. She just raised her brow at me, giggled then left my office. I turned my focus to my paperwork until they arrived.

“What time would they arrive?” I mind-linked Vincent.

“I am on my way to meet them near our territory, Alpha” He reported.

I looked at the time and didn’t know that it was already late in the afternoon. Time flies when you are focused on working. I slumped my back to my chair and pinched the bridge of my nose. I rested for a while and then started to change.

I was surprised to see what clothes Tia provided me. It was a formal suit with a robe that is colored red and embroidered with gold. It was long enough to call it a gown. It has a rope in the chest part to connect both sides to keep it from falling. I am truly amazed at the design of the robe, you can feel by seeing that it is for royals.

I quickly changed and headed towards our room, excited to see Clara's look in her dress, if my mine is this amazing I am sure that hers will be too, even though I know that she is beautiful in every dress that she will wears. I fixed my robe and knocked on our door.

“Oh come in!” I heard Tia shouting and I opened the door.

Clara was standing, her back facing me, when she heard the door closed she glanced back and I was stunned to see her. She was so beautiful. Her gown has the same design as my robe, it was an off-shoulder gown with a sexy neck.

There was only one thing that is on my mind right now, it was to tear her clothes and claim her at this moment.
