Chloe POV

Axel is waiting for me outside in the parking garage. He is standing there looking at me, and I feel as if I might be drooling looking at him. He is a sexy man. He is definitely a generous lover. Fuck, I have to talk to him about what happened between us. Yes, we probably are mates, but should we ease into this situation. I just got out of the worst relationship, and up until last night, I was a virgin.

Now, here I am bending over for a man and calling him daddy. Oh my goodness, how embarrassing. I cannot believe I did that. I heard the woman on the observation deck saying it, and it just felt right. It seemed to turn him on so much. Enough freaking out about it, time to face him.

I get out of the Audi. As I am collecting my things from the car, I can hear him walking toward me. His boots click and clack on the concrete, making me excited, knowing he is getting closer to me. I feel him behind me. I smile and turn around to see him smiling at me.

"Hi," I say. It is the only thing I can get to come out. I want to ask him a million things and talk to him about last night, but I am suddenly calm.

He touches my face so softly. "You look upset," Axel says. I shake my head.

"I am, but I am okay. I may need your help later," I say. Axel looks confused.

"Well, we can talk about it when you are comfortable," Axel says. He pulls me into him. I lay my head on his chest. His scent sends my body into overdrive. I can feel myself getting wet and wanting him. I take a deep breath of him, not wanting to let him go.

"Sorry, I guess we need to go into the building; we do have work to do today," I say.

Axel clears his throat. "We can stay here as long as you want. I do not mind at all; in fact, we could skip work today," Axel says.

I look up at him and realize he is serious. "I cannot skip work today, and I have a thief to catch," I say. I start walking in front of him. He follows me slowly. I can feel his eyes on my ass as we walk into the office. I swipe my key and wait for the elevator, and Axel stands right behind me.

The elevator door opens, and we both step into the elevator alone. Axel presses me against the wall of the elevator. "I only want a kiss before we begin work," Axel says.

Axel's lips touch mine, and then his tongue slides into my mouth slowly. Our tongues dance as our bodies pressed hard against one another. I want him, right here and right now. A small moan escapes my mouth when he lets go of me. I lean against the wall as he moves away from me. The elevator door opens, and I go out the door first and walk straight to my office.

I sit down at my computer, boot it up and log in so I can clock in for work. I can feel so much wetness between my legs. He is making me crazy. My phone begins to buzz. I smile before looking, thinking it is probably Axel, but it is Cane texting me.

*We need to talk, Chloe! It is about Jesse. She is going to lose her job. I know you are the one looking into the theft! * Cane texts me.

Axel comes into the office, and I hand him my phone. He reads the message. "Only three people know there is a theft investigation. Only told marketing that there is a problem but not theft, so I am guessing your trainer yesterday told her friend, Jessie," Axel says.

"Well, my brother is losing his mind," I say.

Axel stands there for a moment. "I will call him and talk to him," Axel says.

"Do you think my brother is involved?" I ask.

The way Axel looks at me, I already know the answer. "Your brother is a drug addict. I have put him through rehab and cleaned him up several times. I try to help my employee, but Cane and Jessie have done beyond my help this time," Axel says.

"I should probably find another place to live and fast. Good thing I did not unpack," I say.

Axel leans over the desk. "Have you seen the executive apartments across the street?" Axel asks me, smiling.

"No, but they are probably out of my price range, Mr. Arden," I answer.

"Well, you will be my wife, so with that being said, I will get you the apartment," Axel answers.

"Why?" I ask him.

Axel smiles at me. He pulls one of the chairs close and sits down beside me. "I know all of this wolf-mate stuff is not something you are used to, but I want to be with you. For now, I am willing to wait until you are ready. I want my future wife safe and away from harm. If Cane is using drugs again, he could lash out at you. Please allow me to get one of the apartments across the street for you," Axel says.

"You are so kind. Okay, but you cannot spend the night," I say. He looks at me disappointed, but he should know that I am not being serious. I am not sure I can control myself around him. I want him right now, but I know I need to cool it. I have to calm myself and learn to control the urge to lift my skirt and sit on his cock.

The door opens, and it is Andrea. "I wanted to check in on Chloe to see if she needed any help. I thought I could help with the theft investigation of Jessie's accounts.," Andrea says.

"What investigation?" Axel asks Andrea, cutting her off fast. He knows she is the one that went to Jessie last night.

"I saw the report, and you told me there were some discrepancies," Andrea says.

Axel oddly tilts his head toward Andrea as if to let her know how stupid she sounds. "Discrepancies, no one said anything about a theft, Andrea," Axel says.

"Oh, I am sorry, I thought that was what was going on; I did not mean to cause any problems. Do you want me to take it over? You know, since Chloe is so new. I would be happy to look into all of it for you," Andrea says.

Axel smiles. "I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I will be conducting the investigation myself. Since you brought it up, maybe I should be looking into a theft. Thanks, Andrea," Axel says.

Andrea stands at the office door, looking stunned and shocked. "You can go, Andrea. I believe I can handle my own today," I say to her.

She does not even blink as she walks out of the office. "Do you think she will tell all of that to Jessie?" I ask Axel.

"Probably not, but I am going to call Jessie in today and talk through some of this will her. I want to know what she was thinking and why," Axel says.

"Do you want me to keep looking into it?" I ask.

Axel takes a piece of paper and pen off my desk and writes down something, and he then hands it to me. "These are my credentials. Use them to investigate Andrea and anyone else you think might be stealing from me," Axel says.

I open up the accounting program and log in with Axel's credentials. There are a lot more options. I smile at the possibilities.

"I thought that would make you happy. I will be by at lunch. We will go look at the apartments and grab a bite to eat. If Andrea or anyone asks what I have you doing, tell them you are reconciling old accounts for write offs," Axel says.

"Got it," I say.

I cannot wait for lunch. I might have to taste him when he shows me the apartment. Down girl, you need to calm down and take things slow.
