Chapter 99: Chapter 99
Mia Redgrave watched as Seraphina Redgrave maneuvered gracefully among a dozen burly men without a scratch, teeth gritted in anger.
This bitch, spending three years in the restricted zone, actually learned such skills.
Watching Seraphina’s agile figure, Mia was even angrier. She looked around and saw a vine several meters long, as thick as a baby’s arm, hanging from a tree.
She walked over, yanked the vine from the tree, and swung it at Seraphina.
Seraphina, hurry up and die!!!
Seraphina saw something flying towards her, instinctively raised her hand, and caught it with ease.
Mia’s breath hitched.
How did it fail to harm Seraphina?
What else is she incapable of doing?
Seraphina glanced at the object in her hand, then at Mia, and smirked slightly.
Before Mia could react, Seraphina swung the vine, sending two bodyguards flying.
The vine in her hand danced fiercely, making it impossible for anyone to get within two meters of her.
Mia was utterly dumbfounded, eyes wide as if Seraphina were a man-eating monster.
Suddenly, Seraphina accelerated, dashing along the perimeter at a speed visible only as a blur to the human eye. In the next second, the dozen bodyguards were tightly bound by a vine, unable to move.
What kind of bodyguards did Jonathan Redgrave hire? They’re not even as good as that boxer from the last gangster hideout.
Seraphina peered at the trembling Mia, tugged a section of the vine from the bodyguards, and cries of pain began to echo from the bodyguards.
"Are you coming over, or shall I go?"
Seraphina’s lips curved in a smile, but her eyes were filled with coldness.
Mia looked at this version of Seraphina, her legs weakened, she inadvertently tripped over herself, unable to move: "Get away! Get away!"
Why let go of such a great opportunity?
Seraphina strolled over slowly, not forgetting to swish the vine in her hand as she walked.
Mia screamed in terror, her face a mess of tears and snot.
Seraphina casually grabbed her arm, and Mia couldn’t struggle anymore. Seraphina wrapped the vine around her twice, then tied her up with the other bodyguards.
"Ah!!!!" Mia’s eyes were wide open, "Seraphina!!! Why don’t you just die! Die, die!!"
After finishing everything, Seraphina turned around to leave.
Suddenly, a car drove in through the school gates and stopped in front of Seraphina.
Seraphina paused, watching as someone hurriedly got out of the car—a woman clad in luxurious attire rushed over to Mia’s side in panic: "Mona!"
Lena Lynch had arrived.
Seeing Lena, Seraphina froze in place.
Mia wanted to rush into her mom’s arms, but couldn’t move at all.
Lena ran over, carefully untied the vine wrapped around Mia.
Seraphina clenched her fist tighter and turned to leave.
"Seraphina!" Lena unbound the ropes that restrained Seraphina, immediately calling out to her, "I have something I want to say to you."
What do they have left to say?
Seraphina sneered, intent on leaving, but Lena spoke again: "If Jonathan falls, the Redgrave Family is truly finished, we can only die. If this is what you want, then Mona and I will die in front of you. I’ve already brought poison."
Mia was stunned, what did mom mean?
Seraphina wanted to leave, but her body wouldn’t obey, still lingering in place.
Soon after, Seraphina found herself with Lena and Mia in an empty study room.
Seraphina sat casually at a desk, while Lena slowly approached to sit in front of her, placing a vial in front of herself, then looked fixedly at Seraphina and finally couldn’t help but speak: "Seraphina, you’re becoming more beautiful."
Seraphina remained expressionless.
Mia, however, was displeased and glanced at Lena.
"Mom, why are you praising her?"
"You be quiet." Lena’s voice was gentle, yet it shut Mia up. She looked softly at Seraphina: "Seraphina, don’t overdo it, alright? Jonathan at least raised you, how about you say those videos are all your fabrications, and we pretend nothing happened, okay?"
Seraphina spoke decisively, there was no room for negotiation. She wanted to eat another piece of candy, but her pocket was empty, there was nothing left.
"Do you really have to do this?" Lena’s eyes filled with sadness.
"This? Which part?" Seraphina looked at Lena, suddenly finding it funny, "How did the Redgrave Family treat me? What I’ve done is not even a tenth of what the Redgrave Family did."
Who would have thought that someone could use an innocent child as a shield for their own daughter, send her to an old man’s bed once she came of age, and then throw her into a restricted zone when she failed.
If they committed such atrocities, can’t the victim even struggle?
That logic doesn’t exist.
"Is the Redgrave Family so bad in your eyes?"
Lena spoke sorrowfully.
"The evil that Jonathan did, whether he spends his life in prison or dies, is what he deserves."
Seraphina spoke coldly.
"How dare you say such things, Seraphina!"
Mia was so angry her eyes turned red.
Lena was not as agitated as Mia, she pressed down on Mia’s shoulders, telling her not to scream and shout, then pushed the vial to a more prominent position, firmly stating: "Seraphina, I’m grateful you’re still willing to speak to me, but today we can only have two outcomes. One is you admitting to fabricating the videos, the other is I die in front of you."
Seraphina’s eyes were filled with mocking laughter: "No problem, after all, I did nothing wrong, the police won’t judge me guilty."
She had done nothing.
What was there to fear?
"Do you really not care?"
Seraphina had spent eighteen years in the Redgrave Family, Lena knew what kind of person Seraphina was—kind, selfless. These words were meant to make Seraphina feel guilty and confess, but now she seemed genuinely unmoved.
"If nothing happens, you all go ahead and die. I have things to do, so I’ll leave first."
Seraphina turned to leave.
Lena stared blankly at Seraphina’s back, seemingly not expecting things to develop this way.
Mia’s anger was about to burst through her skull, watching Seraphina, ready to stand up for another round of cursing, but Lena held her down.
"Seraphina, there’s something I still want to say, eighteen years, if it weren’t for us, you would’ve died on the day you were abandoned."
Seraphina froze, slowly clenching the edge of her clothes.
Seeing Seraphina pause, Lena knew there was still room for negotiation, so she quickly spoke again: "Yes, the Redgrave Family was bad to you, but when you were sick as a child, I found doctors for you, personally brewed medicine, and fed it to you sip by sip; every year, I sang Happy Birthday just for you; when you were bullied by classmates, I went to the school to argue with the teacher."
