Chapter 75: Chapter 75
Seraphina Redgrave stood up, looking at President Fuller’s expression as if she was looking at a corpse.
The leader of the men in black was furious; his charge had been silenced in front of him.
The entire factory’s enforcers aimed at Ethan Sterling. Nathan Ayers forcefully flipped the table and swung a chair out, creating a blind spot for the shooters.
Using this opportunity, Ethan and Nathan hid behind a wall. Nathan pulled out two guns from somewhere and handed one to Ethan.
A deafening gunfire rang out.
Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman shivered in fright. Mia Redgrave, who was closer, was terrified and cried out.
The guards watching over Seraphina no longer cared for her and dashed down with their guns.
From her elevated position, Seraphina watched everything below, seeing Ethan steadily holding a gun, calmly standing by the wall, hitting his mark every time.
The men in black had planned everything to perfection, yet the one thing they hadn’t anticipated was just how powerful Ethan was. Though they were armed to the teeth, they couldn’t harm Ethan, who had stormed in alone.
Seraphina, watching Ethan, turned to Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman and said, "This place is too dangerous; we should leave."
She had no desire to know what Ethan was thinking. Her three years in the forbidden zone taught her that only she could save herself.
Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman completely obeyed the orders of this young lady who was so different from the one they remembered.
Nathan had cleared out the lingering men in black, while Ethan emerged from behind the wall, holding the gun one-handedly, coldly surveying the bodies around him.
The coldness in his gaze seemed to freeze everything in view.
A few notified the nearby subordinates to come over and then asked Ethan, "Young Master Sterling, shall we leave?"
There might be mercenaries left in the building, and staying recklessly could lead to an ambush.
"Her body hasn’t been found yet."
Seraphina was brought back by him; if dead, she must be buried in his territory.
Mia lay on the ground, strangely lucky to be alive, and when she saw Ethan, she cried and grabbed his pant leg, "Young Master Sterling, I’m so scared..."
Ethan didn’t spare her a glance, simply continued walking forward, leaving Mia behind.
Seraphina, still holding a gun, led Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman downstairs. They had barely reached the front door when the noise in the room quieted down.
Were they done shooting?
Did Ethan and Nathan make it out of the encirclement, or were they already taken down?
Seraphina pressed her lips together, not having the chance to assess the situation when she heard footsteps on the staircase, moving upwards.
Seraphina tightened her grip on her gun, quickly moving into a defensive stance, pulling Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman into a nearby room while she pressed against the wall, focusing intently on the sounds.
The footsteps outside varied in speed and weight as if deliberately trying to confuse anyone about the direction of the person.
Were the men in black looking for her?
Ethan and Nathan should withdraw from the factory immediately after winning, not wander aimlessly in such a dangerous, unfamiliar place.
Just as Seraphina was thinking this, the wooden door to the room was pushed open.
Seraphina extended her gun, but at that moment, a dark muzzle pressed against her head.
The man pushing the door open had sharp eyes.
Seraphina couldn’t help but shiver, almost pulling the trigger.
Seraphina and Ethan stood awkwardly with their guns pointed at each other’s heads.
When Ethan saw Seraphina, his eyes flashed with shock.
Their collision was so quick, Seraphina hadn’t had time to disguise herself. Her clear eyes were full of calm, no trace of her former madness.
The atmosphere between them solidified.
It was completely exposed.
Seraphina looked into Ethan’s amber eyes, feeling frantic, her mind racing with countless hypothetical questions.
The two maids stood as quiet as mice, the awkward atmosphere making it hard for them not to notice; the two had been frozen for a while.
Yet even longer had passed.
Ethan lowered his gun, showing no sign of fear. He directly grabbed Seraphina’s gun and forced her step by step to the cement wall behind her.
Seraphina felt the cold cement against her body and couldn’t help but blink.
Ethan pressed down on Seraphina’s gun, trapping her between his arms.
He looked at her, his eyes revealing an ecstatic expression, "I knew my Little Rose couldn’t so easily perish at the hands of those scoundrels."
After speaking, he lowered his head and bit down on Seraphina’s shoulder.
Seraphina looked up in pain, trying to struggle but was restrained by Ethan, unable to move, and thus had to endure.
His canine teeth pierced Seraphina’s shoulder, and she thought he might bite off a chunk of flesh, but the next moment, he began gently licking the blood on her shoulder. It was both itchy and painful.
Seraphina felt her body was completely beyond her control.
After a long while, Ethan finally let go, licking the last trace of blood from her shoulder: "Your life is mine alone."
Seraphina looked at Ethan, her gaze gradually returning to calm.
The two maids directed their gazes upward or downward, pretending they hadn’t seen anything at all.
"Young Master Sterling, we’ve taken the factory..."
Nathan walked in cheerfully, but seeing his boss still biting the girl’s shoulder, he swallowed the rest of his words. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ novelꜰire.net
Even being interrupted, Ethan wasn’t angry. He stepped back a few steps, carefully examining Seraphina.
The snow-white dress was now stained with blood, the pure white legs spattered with dark red, but the wounds on her slender arms were still bright red.
His expression changed instantly, grabbing Seraphina’s arm, where the rolled-up skin was clearly visible—a long, long wound.
Ethan’s gaze turned icy: "Did they do this?"
This was actually from when Seraphina initially escaped.
Before she could speak, Ethan picked her up.
He could pick Seraphina up with one hand, but now he held her tightly with both, afraid she’d fall, speaking slowly as he walked, "Lean on me."
Seraphina was speechless.
"Still want to keep pretending to be crazy and foolish? Isn’t it a bit too late for that?" Ethan cast an amused glance at Seraphina.
Seraphina still said nothing.
"Seraphina Redgrave, I’m talking to you."
Seraphina’s eyes widened suddenly.
She thought Ethan at most knew she was not mentally ill, but she hadn’t expected him to investigate this thoroughly.
Ethan knew her real name.
This meant Ethan watched as she pretended to be crazy, watched her antics, but merely watched, never correcting her, and even helped cover her lies personally?
What exactly did Ethan want?
When Ethan spoke again, there was a hint of impatience in his voice.
Seraphina sighed inwardly and finally compromised, resting her head lightly against Ethan.
