Chapter 62: Chapter 62
Seraphina Redgrave’s heart was about to jump out of her chest as she looked up at him with a face full of terror.
Shouldn’t he be saying some polite words at times ? What did he mean by remembering her?
She absolutely did not want to be remembered by The Reaper, okay?
Ethan Sterling looked at the eyes behind Seraphina Redgrave’s mask and slowly hooked a smile. His glassy eyes seemed like a boundless vortex, about to completely shatter Seraphina.
The moment their eyes met, cold sweat broke out on Seraphina Redgrave’s forehead.
Ethan Sterling casually stuffed the gold award into Seraphina Redgrave’s arms, then turned around and walked away, not even sparing a glance, as if everything that just happened was completely irrelevant.
Was that it? Wait, he just left, what should I do?
Seraphina Redgrave grabbed the bewildered host: "I’m leaving, I’ve already given you my bank account number backstage, just transfer the money directly, thank you."
"Wait, aren’t you supposed to say..."
The host was totally dumbfounded, and before he could finish speaking, Seraphina Redgrave had disappeared, without hearing him out.
This year’s Star Burning Cup was too special.
On stage, besides the host and the second-place winner, no one spoke properly.
Now they could only awkwardly play the closing video.
Every year, the Star Burning Cup ends with a playback of award-winning pieces from previous years, it’s a tradition. But the screen flickered and switched to a strange image.
It seemed to be surveillance footage.
The surveillance footage was in an underground garage. A man was unloading a painting from his car, the painting was "Rose under the setting sun", and the man was last year’s Star Burning Cup gold award winner.
Another man walked into the scene, took the "Rose under the setting sun" from him, and handed the previous year’s gold award winner a card: "This number is certainly worth the price."
It turned out this was just a transaction!
Mia Redgrave couldn’t paint at all, her painting was bought!
The audience gasped in disbelief.
Mia Redgrave became the focus of the entire room. She had been covering her hand, in painful agony, but hearing the change in atmosphere, she looked up to see the surveillance footage.
"This isn’t true! Someone’s jealous of Mona and created a fake video!"
Jonathan Redgrave stood up, trying to control the situation.
"Then let’s have Miss Mia Redgrave come up on stage and recreate her painting. The Star Burning Cup isn’t so easily fooled!"
The organizers also stood up.
Mia Redgrave didn’t dare to go on stage.
In an instant, Mia’s face turned deathly pale. She didn’t understand why, after coming this far, she still couldn’t salvage her reputation, panicking and crying out: "I painted ’Rose under the setting sun’, someone is framing me!"
Someone from below mocked.
"But I’m injured right now!" Mia Redgrave raised her arm, her eyes red, looking pitifully frail: "You are all helping the evildoer frame me?"
"Miss Redgrave, fraud is the ultimate taboo in our industry. We will definitely follow up with an investigation, and if true, we will make you pay the deserved price."
The organizers spoke.
This was the first major mishap at the Star Burning Cup, indicating that past winners might also have cheated, requiring a thorough investigation to uphold the Cup’s prestige.
The audience buzzed with various remarks.
Mia Redgrave stood there with a tormented expression, suddenly struck with an idea: "Ah, I’m so dizzy, I seem to have fallen hard, feeling so uncomfortable..."
After saying so, she fainted into Jonathan Redgrave’s arms.
The audience was shocked.
Jonathan Redgrave stood there, holding Mia, his eyes fixed on the surveillance footage.
He had done many disreputable things over the years, but being caught was a first.
Lately, the Redgrave Family had been incredibly unlucky. Jonathan thought of something and looked toward the first row, where Seraphina Redgrave had been sitting, but no one was there anymore.
He understood now. Mona was right.
Seraphina really escaped from the forbidden zone.
She had changed so much, they no longer recognized her!
Realizing this, Jonathan Redgrave widened his eyes.
Seraphina hadn’t even seen her final gift to the Redgrave father and daughter before she was forced to pursue Ethan Sterling.
He headed toward the museum restroom.
The staff who had taken her to the restroom earlier was still standing at the door.
Seraphina entered the men’s restroom the moment Ethan Sterling turned around. Inside was empty. She quickly removed her disguise, down to just the short dress underneath.
The next second, she opened the window and climbed directly from men’s restroom to the women’s restroom.
Her movements were nimble, but some noises couldn’t be avoided.
Due to inertia, she still made a landing sound.
Seraphina Redgrave furrowed her brows, thinking of a solution.
Outside the restroom, the female staff member was explaining to Ethan Sterling: "Your female companion has been inside for a long time, and there’s no sound when I speak; I was just about to... Eh? There seems to be a noise inside."
Hearing this, Ethan Sterling impatiently kicked open the door.
Inside, there was nothing unusual, just an open window with the wind blowing in.
Ethan Sterling took a quick look inside and directly entered the restroom.
"Are you okay? Young Master Sterling is here."
The female staff, pale-faced, was worried that due to her negligence, if something happened to Sterling’s companion, she’d be doomed.
Ethan Sterling stood by the door, his gaze scanning each stall, coldly asking: "Not done yet? Do you need me to personally remove each door?"
Just as he finished speaking, a pained gasp came from one stall.
Then the door near the window opened, and a woman clutching her stomach slowly emerged, wearing the same figure-hugging black dress.
It was Seraphina Redgrave.
Seraphina looked at Ethan Sterling, pale-faced, sweat dripping down, as pitiful as could be.
Ethan Sterling looked at Seraphina, an unreadable expression flashed in his eyes as he glanced at the restroom’s only window.

The Little Rose really knew a lot.
"Miss, are you alright?"
The staff, a bit nervous, stepped forward to help Seraphina, who looked too weak to stand, placing her hands around her waist.
Seraphina wore a look saying ’I’m almost done for’ as she collapsed into the staff’s arms.
Ethan Sterling furrowed his brow.
Why did he feel so displeased, she was in someone else’s arms while he was still there.
Ethan Sterling said expressionlessly, frightening the staff to immediately straighten up, not daring to move.
He stepped forward to Seraphina, lifted her into his arms, and walked directly out the door.
Nathan Ayers was waiting at the door.
"Have the doctor go to Hibiscus Garden." Ethan Sterling glanced at the "unconscious" Seraphina and strode out the door.
"Yes, Young Master Sterling."
Nathan Ayers replied while dialing his phone.
The staff stood in the restroom, pale-faced, evidently scared out of her wits. It was only after Ethan Sterling and Seraphina left that she regained her senses, looking down at her own hands.
