Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Silence, a deathly silence.

Seraphina Redgrave thought her ears must have malfunctioned.

Ethan Sterling couldn’t possibly be referring to Granny Coleman and Nanny Lynch!

Then it must be her...

But Seraphina was just a substitute, had he lost his mind?

Nathan Ayers took a few breaths before he recovered and saw that Ethan Sterling wasn’t joking, so he could only think of ways to flatter him.

"President Sterling, you truly have an eye for things."

Not even letting lunatics go.

Impressive! Truly impressive.

Ethan Sterling glanced at Nathan Ayers and deliberately said seriously, "I heard the fastest way to keep a woman by your side is to sleep with her. But if you sleep with her and then want to find a substitute that resembles her, that becomes a bit difficult."

Nathan Ayers wanted to rush over and shake Ethan Sterling’s head vigorously, but he didn’t have the guts.

President Sterling, you need to clear your head!

The woman in Hibiscus Garden, she’s not a normal person, okay?

"Is there a problem?"

Seraphina Redgrave listened to the conversation with her heart pounding, afraid she’d miss something important.

But just as she was about to fall asleep, she didn’t hear any more voices.

Ethan Sterling remained silent, and Nathan Ayers naturally didn’t bring up the past to irritate him again.

Oh boy, this is such a set-up! Couldn’t they just finish the conversation?

Nathan Ayers cautiously moved his arms and legs.

She took back her words, Ethan Sterling wasn’t a devil; he was nothing short of a complete lunatic.

Estimating the journey time from Hibiscus Garden to the food street, Seraphina thought it ought to be time.

"President Sterling, let’s get off the car!"

Nathan Ayers swiftly opened the car door.

Now he was dying of curiosity, but Ethan Sterling wouldn’t be so kind as to explain everything to him.

One must bow when under another’s roof, with Ethan Sterling deliberately keeping him in suspense, what could he do?

"We’re already there?" Ethan Sterling seemed a bit regretful.

He got out of the car straight away and walked toward the main gate without turning back, walking with commanding presence.

Seraphina estimated the time and thought she should get out of the car.

If she didn’t get out soon, she’d be too late.

When there was no sound around, she quickly climbed out from the car trunk.

She cautiously erased all traces, ensuring no one would know she had hidden there.

Once she got out of the car, she quickly squatted and climbed into Hibiscus Garden as fast as she could.

Ethan Sterling had already entered through the gate.

Seraphina looked around and seemed like no one noticed her.

That was expected; when Ethan Sterling arrived, everyone was on high alert.

Ethan Sterling suddenly turned his head, staring sharply toward the gate as if waiting for someone important.

In the garden, numerous hibiscus blooms swayed in the wind. Delicately crafted street lamps illuminated the garden beautifully.

He stared at the moon in his palm with a half-smile, half-not expression that gave Nathan Ayers, who had been with him for years, chills. He frantically recalled what he could have done wrong.

Ethan Sterling said nothing and just walked into the room.

Outside the room, Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman exchanged panicked glances.

What was going on? How could they both have fallen asleep?

It seemed neither had been sleeping well recently. Blame that lunatic, always causing trouble!

Soon, they heard Ethan Sterling’s voice.

After hastily tidying their clothes, Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman raised their heads and found Ethan Sterling standing in front of them.

In an instant, their heart rates slowed significantly, and they lowered their heads reverently.

"President Sterling, do you have any instructions?"

Why now, out of all times, did he decide to launch a surprise attack!

Ethan Sterling seemed not to have heard them, "Where is the person?"

Nanny Lynch and Granny Coleman immediately knew whom he was talking about.

Hastily and nervously, they looked at each other, knowing that if President Keaton found out they had fallen asleep, their lives were not worth a penny.

Nanny Lynch instantly gathered her wits and lied with a straight face. "Miss just asked us to make her a white fungus and lotus seed soup, and when we took it to her room, she was fast asleep."

Ethan Sterling didn’t listen to their nonsense anymore and directly charged toward Seraphina Redgrave’s room.

Granny Coleman was now completely flustered. "You’re too bold! If President Sterling finds out, we’re done for!" This update ıs available on novel•fire.net

She could want to die, but she shouldn’t drag her down with her.

"I’m not lying! We did make the white fungus and lotus seed soup just now, and that lunatic did fall asleep. Hopefully, she hasn’t woken up yet, and we can skate by this time."

Granny Coleman had no choice but to acquiesce. She couldn’t exactly run to Ethan Sterling and admit they had fallen asleep while on duty, could she?

"Don’t blame me, it’s the only way."

They’re all in the same boat; Granny Coleman felt embarrassed to say anything bad about the other.

Ethan Sterling stopped halfway and slowly started walking toward the room.

He was waiting, like a skilled hunter patiently waiting for the prey about to be hooked.
