Chapter 44: Chapter 44
Daniel finished giving her classes and together with her students, companion and mothers of the children. They went to McDonald's.
Upon arrival they all began to talk, laugh and joke. Daniel, how to be expected, she enjoys every second that she spends with them without being aware that a pair of eyes admire her without blinking ... that a specific man has his heart overflowing just by seeing her.
Yazahib feels his heart pounding, how is it possible that she forgot so quickly? It's true that he didn't call her and left without saying anything to her, but she must have understood. The woman he loves was not able to tell him that she did not want something; she did not trust him and made him believe that everything was fine with his desire to be a father.
Daniel felt that energy, that connection that she felt whenever Yazahib was close to her and she looked in all directions in search of that which attracts her like a magnet, but she did not see anything, nor anyone who could provoke that in her.
"Are you okay Darling?" Simone asked seeing her frown. "What's wrong, are you feeling bad?" She smiled and denied Simone's question.
"I'm fine, it's just that I thought I felt something." She looked at the girls and got up. She doesn't want to think about Yazahib anymore, that hurts her a lot, “girls, let's go to the games,” the girls screamed with excitement and they all left with Daniel to go up to the second floor where the games are.
Yazahib decided to follow her, he needs to see her a little more, he needs to know if she is the same as three months ago because Daniel, his queen would not start a relationship shortly after breaking up with him and that Daniel, she did it only a month after their separation. Although that wasn't a separation, he just wanted a little time so he could forgive his girlfriend and move on with their lives. But there he is now, looking at her like a stalker.
"Sensei" one of the girls approached Daniel "I need to go to the bathroom."
Daniel smiled and taking the girl by her hand led her to the bathroom, “can you be alone?"
The girl gave her a big smile, “yes, I'm big." She made a gesture with her hand causing amusement in Daniel.
"All right my big girl, I'll be waiting behind that setting. Anything you need from me, just screams, okay?” The girl nodded and went to the bathroom, Daniel came out to watch the others play. But something caught her attention and her heart failed a series of beats. She started to look in the direction she saw that figure that she has been wanting to see for a long time, is he here? Smiling and mocking herself she denied and stopped looking.
Yazahib with a racing heart decided to leave, she almost saw him and he does not want that to happen, not until her party.
***
Daniel got ready to go to the work meeting, she feels tired but she has to go, she doesn't want to lose her work. Derek and everyone else wait for her patiently. Caroline like her always full of bitterness for having to work with Daniel, in different times she wanted to fire her from her but she does not have enough power. Frank always protects Daniel and does not give her the option of dismissal.
On the other hand, Hills' daughter, Marina, she deeply hates Daniel for the affection that her father shows to that poor girl without a family. She doesn't understand why her father defends her, she is nothing his! He should hate her like the rest of them. She is a slut who left the most coveted man in all of America, every woman wants to be with Yazahib and that bitch hooked up with his best friend.
She doesn't deserve to be in the company, she doesn't deserve to be with Derek and she doesn't deserve to be loved by Yazahib. She is undoubtedly a villain who only looks at his physique and his money.
"I don't see why we should have a party for that woman," Marina growled bitterly. "That woman doesn't deserve this." She looked at her father who snorted.
"I don't understand why you dislike her." Derek looked at her. "She's good and she doesn't mess with you."
Marina laughed bitterly, “is she good?" She asked angrily. "That woman got into Yazahib and Caroline's relationship, she also got between us, are you forgetting?”
Derek snorted, “there was no relationship between Yazahib and Caroline," he reminded her, "it's not Daniel's fault that Yazahib loves her more than Caroline."
Caroline felt angry when she heard him, “well, as far as I know, you did love Marina and look at you,” she looked at him suspiciously. "You're with her and you left Marina."
Derek looked at Frank, out of respect for him, he wouldn't tell the truth. Marina cheated on him just the day that he would ask her to be his wife. Just the day Simone decided to introduce Daniel to him. "She and you know the reason for our separation."
Marina tensed, believing that he would say it in front of her father, but she breathed when Derek said nothing more. "Have you end your ridiculous argument?" Frank looked at them. "If you make Daniel uncomfortable, everyone will deal with me. No one, absolutely no one will make her feel bad about the differences. She is rude when she has to defend herself,” he looked at his daughter and Caroline, “I am sure that if you leave envy she will be good and you will be able to get along.” Both women made a gesture of displeasure, they will never in life be good to that bitch.
Daniel got out of the taxi and entered the building, she got on the elevator and once she reached the meeting floor she rushed into the room. Her surprise was when she saw her companions gathered with a beautiful cake on the table.
Derek smiled and got up to hug her and wish her happy birthday. Frank also welcomed her with a hug and a kiss. The two women hypocritically wished her a happy birthday.
"I can't believe it." Daniel smiled nonstop. "You shouldn't have done this."
"Exactly," Caroline blurted out bitterly, "but we did and now you just have to thank us. You know, you do something bad and they reward you.” Daniel felt bad, she always has to bear the accusing stares of others.
"Caroline, do me a favor," Frank growled.
"It's okay Frank, I guess I deserve it." She smiled and sat down. "Can we start please? I want to go home as soon as possible,” she always cries in her loneliness to regain the strength she needs.
How come Yazahib left her and no one blames him? How is it possible that everyone judges her for a new opportunity? Okay, it was too early, but she doesn't deserve to be treated like a woman who betrayed her partner. Yazahib left, did not call, did not attempt to communicate with her. She was willing to give him her time, her space and wait for him. But did he call her and say something about her? He just disappeared and left her alone. How is it possible that the fault is only hers?
"Actually," Frank continued, "this is something we plan for you." Daniel looked at him confused. "The gala will be for another month. Today we just want to celebrate your birthday and have a good time.” Daniel looked at him puzzled, what is he saying? "I knew that if we told you, you wouldn't accept the party, so, everything is ready and it will be given at the opening of the new hotel.” Daniel felt her heart race and fill with love. That man never left her alone and now he planned her a party.
"No, don't look at me like that love,” Derek smiled. "Frank made me lie to you,” he chuckled.
“Why do you do this to me? With this cake is fine, I don't need a big party.”
"But the party is on and you have to go,” Marina looked at her. "Don't pretend, you're happy to be the center of attraction."
Daniel frowned, “yes, you are absolutely right, I've been the center of attention since Yazahib left me, and you know what? I like being the damn center of attraction for the whole damn country,” she got up and left the office. Derek looked at her reproachfully and went after Daniel who cries inconsolably while she waits for the elevator.
"Honey," he hugged her and she collapsed.
“I can't take it anymore, they all judge me and they don't wonder how I was when he left me. Everyone says I'm a bad girlfriend, that I messed with my ex-boyfriend's best friend, but no one says that my ex-boyfriend left me without saying to God. Neither says I waited for him for a month even though he didn't call me.”
Derek tensed when he heard her, “everything will be fine, I'm here for you." He kiss her head. "Now let's go, you must attend your party." The elevator opened and they both went in.
