Chapter 560: Chapter 560
Remarkably, Titus Zane had no insomnia that night and enjoyed pleasant dreams. In her sleep, she rested her head on Nathan Moore’s lap while Nathan read the newspaper, his other hand unconsciously caressing her face.
It was a warm feeling. Titus Zane moaned softly, her lips curled into a smile as she reached out and grasped his hand, rubbing her little face in the palm of his hand.
The touch was unfamiliar; the man’s palm was smooth and delicate, lacking the calluses it had before, yet it was hotter than Nathan’s...
Suddenly, Titus Zane opened her eyes, her moist eyes filled with alertness.
"Awake now?" A voice tinged with a smile sounded above her head, somewhat familiar yet unplaceable.
Instinctively, Titus Zane shifted her gaze over to see a simply dressed, neatly groomed man sitting on her bed, his large hand resting on her face.
"How come you are here!" Titus Zane suddenly propped herself up, pressed close to the bedsheet, and scooted further inward.
Feeling the hand being removed, Alder Locke lowered his gaze for a moment, naturally supporting himself on the bed, and said with a smile, "Your uncle and aunt asked me to come up and call you for breakfast, but seeing you sleeping soundly, I couldn’t bear to."
Titus Zane frowned, her unadorned face showing unmasked wariness, "When did you arrive in Capital City?"
"Last night," Alder Locke’s lips always harbored a gentle smile, and when he wasn’t being frivolous, he seemed much more serious, "You went to bed early, so I asked your uncle and aunt not to disturb you."
But what really concerned Titus wasn’t that; it was, "How did you get into my room?" If she remembered correctly, she had locked the door when she returned to her room.
"Your aunt gave me the key to your room," Alder Locke said with a resigned smile, raising his hand and playfully flicking Titus Zane’s nose, a very pampering gesture, "How else could I have gotten in? You don’t think I’d dare to pick locks in someone else’s house, do you?" For more chapters visıt 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩~𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢~𝔫𝔢𝔱
Instinctively, Titus Zane reached up to touch her own nose, unbothered by how often Nathan pinched it, but even a light flick from Alder made all her nerves uncomfortable.
"Why did you come to Capital City? To sightsee or to start a business?"
Hearing Titus ask this, Alder Locke smirked and raised his eyebrows, "I was originally here to have fun, but... your suggestion seems not bad, setting up a business at the emperor’s feet seems promising for good business."
Felt like she had dug a hole and jumped into it herself, internally scolding her own loose lips.
She threw off the blanket and got out of bed from the other side, walking barefoot to the other side, slipping into her shoes and heading towards the bathroom, coldly stating, "You should leave, I need to wash up."
Watching the woman’s proudly cold back, Alder Locke’s lips curved upwards, finding her very attractive, even her bare face was eye-pleasing.
Recalling his own experiences, once, he had spent the night with a beautiful woman, and when he woke up to the "monster" resting on his arm the next day, he almost kicked her out of bed...
Still, this woman was pleasing to the eye, and if... they got married, he wouldn’t have to worry about being scared when waking up in the morning.
He stood up and walked out of the room; Grandpa Zane and uncle had already nodded in agreement, just needing to get this concerned party on board.
Titus Zane was unaware of why Alder Locke had come to Capital City and moved into her grandfather’s house, yet from her grandfather’s and uncle’s attitude towards him, it wasn’t hard to see that they quite liked him.
After breakfast, before she could even rise from the dining table, Samuel Zane started speaking.
"Titus, Alder is not very familiar with this place as it’s his first visit to Capital, take him out for a walk later."
