Chapter 528: Chapter 528

Feeling played like a clown in a circus, Sophia Hamilton was enraged. In her anger, she grabbed Evander Lancaster’s arm and bit down hard.

"Ah..." Evander Lancaster cried out in pain, looking at the neat set of teeth marks on his hand, "You bitch!"

"Serves you right!" Sophia Hamilton dodged the car keys and harshly spat out the words before turning to head for the door.

Evander Lancaster’s cry of pain woke up Titus Zane, who lifted his head, looked around with sleepy eyes, and then turned to Nathan Moore, "What’s happened? Why do I hear someone screaming?"

"It’s nothing, go back to sleep. A male dog’s just in heat," Nathan Moore gently patted Titus Zane’s shoulder, a smile playing around his eyes.

"A male dog? Where did it come from? Are we keeping a dog at home?" Titus Zane propped himself up on the sofa, searching around until his eyes landed on Evander Lancaster standing forlornly at the door.

Just having been bitten, and now mocked by his elder brother, it seemed his life would become a running joke.

"Evander, what are you doing standing at the door? Why don’t you come in?" After sitting up, Titus Zane finally noticed Evander Lancaster, but before he could reply, the man beside him said, "Ignore him. He’s waiting for his little bitch."

Titus Zane became even more confused, "What dog? I haven’t seen any."

"Elder brother, is it really okay to refer to your future sister-in-law like that!" Evander Lancaster rolled his eyes in disbelief, just as the man on the sofa looked up and said slowly with an arched brow, "What’s wrong? Isn’t what I said correct? Only little dogs bite, and you have just been bitten, haven’t you?"

He had intended to argue, but seeing that little firecracker briskly walking over with documents in hand, Evander Lancaster suddenly smiled ambiguously and loudly said, "Elder brother, you’re right, it’s only little dogs that like to bite. I have to go to the hospital later to get a rabies shot."

"Hmm," Nathan Moore, sitting on the sofa, pulled the bewildered woman into his embrace, "Later, help me send my employee back to the company."

Just as Sophia Hamilton stepped in the door, she heard her CEO say this, and her face turned sullen as she froze on the spot.

Nathan Moore glanced at her and asked, "Secretary Hamilton, did Zhang say this document isn’t urgent?"

"Oh, no, it’s urgent, very urgent,"

Sophia Hamilton agreed while walking into the hall, noticing everyone was wearing slippers, she retreated to the door, took off her snow boots, and walked in barefoot.

"Auntie Liu, please get the guest some slippers." Titus Zane called out, and just as Auntie Liu in the kitchen responded and was about to come out, Nathan Moore stopped her, "No need, just make lunch."

"Nathan!" Titus Zane frowned in disapproval, while Sophia Hamilton felt incensed. Here she had thought the CEO was a caring person who looked out for his employees, but it turned out he was just like all the rich people—looking down on ordinary people with their dog eyes.

Just as she stepped forward, she saw her CEO gently tuck a strand of hair behind the woman in his embrace and speak tenderly.

"Don’t worry, a man should cherish his own woman."

Sophia Hamilton was taken aback, not yet comprehending the CEO’s words, when suddenly, a pair of slippers landed in front of her. Evander Lancaster had taken a pair of women’s slippers from the shoe cabinet and threw them in front of her. Though just tossed there, it was a rare sight for this flirtatious man to serve a stranger personally.

Unfortunately, Sophia Hamilton was not appreciative. She glared at him, snorted, "Unnecessary!" and then carried the documents towards Nathan Moore.

For the first time making an effort to be courteous and then being disdained, Evander Lancaster touched his nose, feeling quite embarrassed.

He huffed, hands in his trouser pockets, and pretended like everything was fine while aimlessly wandering in the hall.

However, in his heart, he was plotting mischief, thinking about how he would get back at her later!
