Aliyah’s POV

“The patient's condition is now stable. We successfully removed the bullet from his body, for now, he still needs some rest. ”

I nodded then thanked the doctor.

I looked at Lewis. I hope he wakes up soon. I have to apologize to him.

A few minutes later I felt someone patted my back. It was my aunt. I just looked at her with a blank expression on my face. No matter how much I would like to talk and say what is bothering me, there are still no words that come out of my lips.

“Aliyah, you should take some rest first, I will be here... I will take care of Lewis in place of you.”

I shook my head. I have to be by Lewis's side once he wakes up.

We remained in his room together. Aunt respect my decision and so she just accompanies me in looking after Lewis.

Joana also came here to the hospital and she is the one preparing our needs. Food, clothes, and such. Ruzzel and his friends wanted to come here as well but I asked my aunt not to let them show up in front of me. There is a lot of things running through my mind right now. There is a lot of things I am worried about. Maybe becoming crazy or ending up in a mental institution shall be my fate if I will see Ruzzel’s face this too soon. I can’t manage to see his face nor even bother by his presence. I just hope he will disappear from my life forever.

Lewis POV

"A-aliyah…"

I saw Aliyah sleeping right by my side. She probably has not left since I was admitted here.

She lifted her face and looked at me so worriedly.

"Are you okay? How are you feeling right now?" she asked.

“I am fine.” then I smiled.

“Are you sure? I will call the doctor."

The doctor came immediately to check my condition. I think I can get discharge now. I feel like everything is just fine.

I will try to pursue them to let me just stay at home. There, I could take a rest and also, I am planning to do something.

Good thing they have granted my wish.

I was thankful enough that we got along well. I was thankful because everything went well between us. No hard feelings. There is no hate towards each other. But there is something that still needed to be fixed. The misunderstanding between Aliyah and Ruzzel.

Aliyah is apologizing a lot because of what happened. I just smiled at her. What I did to save her is not enough to replace all the sufferings and pain she felt when we separated. I would be happier to give her my life if that is the consequence I have to face. Admitting that I was not brave enough to fight for our love for each other but I guess, what I did is lighter than leaving her in tears and regrets when the day comes that I die.

They have just fixed some of my papers and hospital bill then we left. Aliyah said she wants to look after me even when I am home but I refuse to.

When she left, I immediately called Ruzzel. I invited him to come to my house because we have something important to talk about.

Ruzzel and I have already talked before. We started talking when we have our two days town trip. We got along well too which I did not expect.

Well, Ruzzel is a nice guy indeed. We have no issues with each other and we have agreed on things that we are planning to do. Honestly, I am just seeing myself in Ruzzel’s personality. I know deep down in his heart, he is just wishing for Aliyah’s happiness. And that wish is also my wish. I will just be glad because I will be leaving Aliyah in a right place, at a right time, in the right person, Ruzzel.

I may say that time, really heal all kinds of wounds. I have nothing to think about when the time comes that I have to say goodbye.

Ruzzel arrived in just no time. He brought me a lot of fruits. A lot that I can sell it all and have my fruit stand. Just kidding

He sat in front of me. I gave him the notes which I prepared ahead of time.

“Huh? a hundred things about Aliyah ?? What is it all about? What I will do here? Lewis? ”

Ruzzel asked as he stared at the notes I gave him. He is now lying on my bed. Feeling close right? He is not contended of just sitting in front of me.

"It has everything you need to know about Aliyah," I answered.

"I already know everything about her, Lewis."

My eyes narrowed at what he said. Why being so arrogant huh? Do you need my help Ruzzel?

“Just kidding… hahaha. So what am I gonna do with these notes, Lewis? ” he said upon noticing me not being happy at all by his presence.

“Her hopes, dreams, and wishes are all written there. Do it so she can forgive you.”

"Why does he have to forgive me?"

I throw him a pillow. Seriously Ruzzel?

"I can not even understand why Aliyah replaced me with a shrimp brain like you."

Then he laughed out loud. Eventually, he became serious. He has already started reading.

“Lew, I just wanna asked. Don’t you have any computer? Or laptop? Or a tablet? Or a phone? Why put an effort into writing down all these things? It must be nice if you have typed every single word. Your penmanship sucks. Looks like it was handwritten by a chicken. Hahahahha.”

I was about to get my notes but he pulled them away from me. I gave him an annoyed look. But he just laughed at me in return. Seriously, Ruzzel?

"So hmmm... based on your notes… Aliyah loves the scenery on the beach."

I just nodded.

"So I am thinking of taking her to the beach."

I nodded again.

"I also plan to propose to her."

This time, I shook my head.

"Why?" he asked.

“Just think of it, both of you are not yet on good terms then suddenly you will propose? Just try to fix everything first before you jump on the proposal part.”

“Oh yes! You have a point! Hahahaha."'

Then we started planning out everything. We put everything in place as we are planning. There is a lot of things running on our minds while discussing and I hope, it will work this time.
