Chapter 116: Chapter 116

"Damn!"

"Why is there no cab today?" Julia shouted in anger.

Rebecca looked through her phone but she also got no cab near the area.

"Julia, I think we need to walk to check the cab or bus stop nearby."

Julia's face frowned as she immediately said," Rebecca, there is no bus stop until 10 km. And for the bus, we need to walk at least half an hour. And with this many bags, we can't walk. And don't forget you are pregnant. It's not safe for you to walk this much with heavy bags."

Rebecca felt speechless before finally asking her, " Why is there a ride so far? Isn't the mall places always get vehicles closer?"

Julia could understand her words and immediately reply, "Rebecca, this mall is not made for middle-class people like us. Today is a sale, that's why we are here. Neither, every time, you will only see rich people coming here with their expensive cars. And this area is mostly reserved by rich people. So, cab and bus things do not work here. "

"But didn't we come with a cab?" Rebecca doesn't know but she felt like asking all the questions until she was replied with a satisfactory response.

"Yes, but that was our area. And this area has a few cabs nearby but I think many cabs got customers as today there are lots of people shopping."

Rebecca finally got her words and didn't ask more.

"Let me check my phone, once again. And if the cab is not there, we need to wait in the mall. "

"Alright, let's do that. We got no choice." Rebecca replied back. While Julia started scrolling her phone.

.

.

"Sir, where should I drive?" The driver asked Edwin.

"Move to home." His eyes looked outside the car's window and just instructed him.

The driver nodded and said," Alright, Sir."

He started the engine and turned from car parking to the main door of the mall to go out from the iron bar gate. However, Edwin who is thinking about Rebecca all the time after parting away from her in the mall, suddenly saw her standing with Julia.

"Stop the car!" He shortly ordered.

The driver did as he asked… While Edwin looked at them for a long minute before making up his mind to check on them.

"Driver takes the car right." As he authorized, Driver turned the wheel.

Edwin's car just stopped between them and first Julia noticed him. While Rebecca looked through cabs online.

"Hell, Mr.Edwin." Julia immediately greeted him while Edwin nodded to her.

Hearing his name in Julia's mouth, Rebecca moved her eyes from the phone to him. And soon their eyes collided.

They both looked at each for a long minute, before Rebecca retreated her gaze from him.

Only to make Edwin come back to reality and move her eyes from her to Julia.

"Miss Julia, why are you both still here?" Edwin asked in a calm tone.

Julia looked at Rebecca and then at him with an awkward smile on her face," Actually, We are waiting for a cab, Sir."

Edwin looked at his watch and it was already 7 pm. And he knew there was no cab coming soon.

He thinks for a moment and then looked at Rebecca who is looking on the other side.

He moved his gaze to Julia and asked, "If you both don't have an issue, I can drop you home."

As soon as he finished his words, Julia immediately responded, " Yeah Sure, Sir."

However, Rebecca frowned and looked at her friend with serious eyes. But Julia whispered in her ears shortly," Babe, it's already late, we can't stay here all night. You are pregnant. It's not good for your baby to stand here for a long time. Let's just go. And please don't think too much."

Rebecca knew she was right so, at last, she agreed with her friend. But when it comes to taking a seat, Julia already takes the first-row seat, and now only Edwin's side seat option is left for her.

She wanted to yell at Julia for her trick. But seeing no chance, she silently takes the empty seat beside Edwin.

Edwin didn't look at her, just instructed the driver to start the car.

After that, the whole car fell silent as no one is talking to each other. Where Edwin looked at his phone, Rebecca looked outside, while on the front side Julia was staring at both of them through the car mirror.

She was feeling lost at this moment to see how strange they both looked. But she got no way to make them talk to each other for now. So, all she did, at last, was let them stay the way they wanted. And before she thinks more, her phone got one text from Sam which made her lips curl up.

When Julia got busy with text. Edwin's eyes move from his phone to look at Rebecca who's still in her mid thoughts if telling the truth to Edwin, going to solve her issue or not?

If this is the right choice? Or she's moving fast to trust him to disclose her big secret?

Edwin's eyes looked at her in a daze for a long moment before moving his head to another side to look at the outside view with a blank gaze, just like her.

Soon the car stopped in front of their apartment. Where Rebecca shortly first gets off from the car while Julia gets off next.

Edwin silently looked at them.

When Julia approached him from the car window and thanked him for dropping them.

"Mr.Edwin, Thank you for the ride."

Edwin nodded. While his eyes followed to look at Rebecca who was silently standing behind Julia.

Julia's eyes did not miss his glance and immediately held Rebecca's hand to get her beside her and bid good night to Edwin.

She hit her lightly with her shoulder in a gesture to say good night.

To which Rebecca felt a little annoyed but at last thanked him," Thank you, Mr.Edwin, for driving us, and good night."

Edwin felt little comfort to hear her voice and see her finally not retreating her gaze from him.

"You too also," Edwin responded with a slight smile which made Rebecca's heart beat fast. While the next moment, he asked the driver to start the car.

When the car finally went, Rebecca threw her trauma on Julia. But she ignored it and went to the apartment with a glad smile.
