Chapter 59: Chapter 59
“How are you feeling, Luna?” I asked and sat on the bed beside Luna, who was leaning on the headboard. When Thraia asked me earlier about where I wanted to go, Luna and Brielle immediately came into my mind.
Thraia lead me here, and I didn’t know that there was a mini-hospital inside this house. How big is Reign’s house? Maybe, there are some things that I don’t know yet. This place was vast, and I don’t have time to tour everything here. I prefer to hang out on the terrace.
“I’m fine, miss. Thank you so much for helping us that day,” Luna asked with a small voice. I reached for her hands placed above her legs, covered with a white blanket. I shrugged my head and gently caressed her hands.
“You don’t need to thank me. How’s your eye’s condition?” Luna gave me a smile.
“There is no other problem, miss. Other than excessive bleeding and pain, there was no infection. I was grateful for what you did on stopping the bleeding and cleaning my eyes that day,” I smiled back at her and nodded.
“Just think about recovering, okay?” Luna nodded, “Where’s Brielle?” I looked back to see Thraia; she was standing behind me near the edge of the bed.
“I think she was preparing for a snack,” I just nodded to Luna, and then we talk so much about things. Honestly, I’ve changed a lot since I got here. I take another glance at Luna and Thraia and smile.
I did not think that the time will come when I will worry about other people, and I can do everything I can to keep them from getting hurt. I have never thought that I will open my life to some stranger and let them fully entered. Friend? It’s new for me, but when I experience their presence, it’s not wrong to have at least one or two.
Before I came to this island, I was petrified to make friends with other people. At school, I ignore them unless something important is being discussed, especially regarding studies. When I’m at work, I focused on serving my customers without interacting with my co-workers; like school, I also talk when it’s already a critical manner.
My mind was very narrow then, especially when it comes to the word of a friend. I thought they were toxic, where they would always take you to nonsense things, and sometimes, they are a bad influence in our lives, but I overthought.
This is what I learned, there’s a toxic bunch of people in the world, but everyone is not like them. You just have to choose the person you let into your life, and you’re sure that they won’t hurt and destroy you, and this is the time for me. For almost twenty years, this is the right time for me to be close with someone.
While I was here, I didn’t just make friends. I feel loved, like they are my family, and I was loved by Reign. I also learned to love this island. This place taught me my first’s experiences.
It was the first time I felt weird, with butterflies playing in my stomach. When I was with Reign or just thinking about him, my heartbeat will suddenly race like in a marathon, and I can’t stop myself from being flustered.
I already admitted that I was in love with Reign and his island taught me how to love and how wonderful being loved is! Also, since I got here, I stopped talking sarcasm and comparing people with metaphors.
“Miss? Miss?” I was back to earth when someone tapped my shoulders and when I looked up, it was Thraia, “Are you okay?” she asked with her worried voice. I immediately nodded.
When I turned my eyes in front of Luna, she was already eating something. A cake? And there’s a wooden folding table beside me. I looked at the right side and saw Brielle smiling while also eating. I was overthinking that I didn’t realize her arrival.
I stared back at the folding table beside me. Brielle may be brought this tray with chiffon cake and a swiss roll while there’s also a glass pitcher filled with orange liquid and orange juice.
“Yes, I’m okay. I’m just thinking something. What are you saying?” I asked, looking back at Thraia, trying to confirm if she was saying something, and I didn’t hear about it since my mind was floating to something else. She adjusted her position and smiled.
“Nothing, miss. I thought you are not okay because you suddenly become silent,”
“Sorry for that. Maybe, I think too deeply that I forgot about the earth,” I said. Thraia just nodded and didn’t say anything after. I looked back at the front and take a swiss roll. I invited Thraia to eat when I noticed that she didn’t get something to eat.
Thraia did not refuse and then, eat with us. While we are eating, the mini-hospital inside Reign’s house is filled with laughter. We have talked about many stuff and sometimes were pointless, but we were happy.
It takes an hour before the four of us end up talking, and I told them that I will get back to the room to rest. I’m still a little tired because of what happened the other day, and the conversation we had earlier made me feel at ease; it seems everyone just ignored it.
Of course, I also don’t want to repeat the incident in my mind, especially when I almost lose my life again. After Thraia takes me to Reign’s room, she immediately left, telling me that she has some things to do.
When I was alone, I immediately went to bed and was surprised when something twisted behind me. I adjusted my body and reach for that thing. I almost forgot the phone that Thraia gives to me earlier.
I sigh and then and tilt from lying down while holding the phone. I stared at its screen, and when I decided to look inside this phone, I pressed the power button on the side and was shocked when the screen flashed.
I held the phone using both of my hands, and the surprise was still plastered on my face when I saw my picture on the phone’s wallpaper. My lips were twitched, and my body was smoothly shaking.
I looked in the drawer beside the bed and back to the phone, I was holding. The wallpaper on this phone and the picture frame I saw on the drawer is the same; both are my picture when I graduated high school.
I was about to ask myself, but I was startled when the phone suddenly rang, and the screen flashed on and off. I almost let go of the phone but thank God that I was gripping it tightly.
I stared at the screen and the number flashing in front of it; it was unregistered. I was having a second thought if I would accept it reject. I immediately took the call when the idea came inside my mind that it was Reign calling me.
“Hello?” I said in a soft voice. It takes a long time before someone answered on the other line.
“I miss you,” even though I can’t see his face, I already know who is calling because of his baritone voice. I can’t move, and my heart is beating so fast.
“Reign?” I asked to clarify even though everything is already cleared. I heard his chuckles, and with that, my body was shaking because of butterflies partying inside my stomach. This is the first time I have had a call with someone, and it was Reign!
