“What’s your reason to help me?” I asked, trying to act like I overlooked her purpose. It’s given that he like Reign, and I don’t care, but why drag me in her feelings?

Sharmon did not answer and immediately turned her eyes to the two guards behind me. She seemed bothered to speak further because of them.

“First of all, can we talk privately without them?” I just raised my right eyebrow at what she said. Sharmon seemed afraid that they would hear our current conversation. But maybe, even if I want to get rid of them, nothing will happen.

“How can I do that? They won’t listen to me because I’m not their boss, and they aren’t my men. They are under Reign and not mine,” I answered directly. Her expression changed. I don’t like her because she’s something strange.

She clicks her tongue slowly. I think she’s already irritated because of what I reacted to, “They will. Just try,”

“Why are you so desperate to help me?”

“Because you are not suited in this place,” she directly said that made my blood boils. I don’t like what she just said to me.

“You don’t have the right to tell if I fit in this place or not,” I tried to calm myself down. My blood is boiling because of what Sharmon said. Is she that desperate? If she likes Reign that much, he’s all hers! I have no interest in wanting him!

“If you won’t leave this island right away, I guaranteed that there’s something terrible will happen to you,” My forehead frowned at what Sharmon said. Is she threatening me? I turned to see if Reign’s men that were watching over me had heard our conversation.

I don’t think they’ve heard us because they’re talking to each other, and I didn’t realize that Reign’s men have taken distance from me. I even turned my gaze to Sharmon because one of them suddenly turned in my direction. Maybe, they felt like I was looking at them.

I turned my gaze in front when I already secured that Reign’s men won’t hear us, “Are you threatening me?”

“No,”

“Then why are you doing this?”

“Because if the island takers know that such a beauty like you exist inside this island, everything in this place will be chaos,” I stared at her intently, and so did she. It’s evident in Sharmon’s voice that she’s just being forced into saying the ‘beauty’ part, but no one told her to say something that was against her heart, and why should I be scared?

“Will I still be scared when I already encountered them?” Sharmon’s facial expression changed again. She is beautiful while having gray eyes, but there is something strange about her skin color. It was deliberately placed or rubbed on to look like a brunette breed.

“You don’t know anything about them,” her threatening doesn’t affect me at all.

“Do you have nothing else to say? I already rejected your offer. And to stop you with those nonsense threats. I’m not scared of getting in danger. I don’t need your concern because Reign worrying about me is already enough. He said he wouldn’t let something happened to me. That’s all I want for security,” my litany.

My eyes saw how Sharmon clenched her fists. She seemed angry at what she heard from me. I don’t care if she was triggered. I didn’t have time to walk around with her.

“Don’t be stubborn and leave this island immediately,” she insisted. I want to slap this woman left and right. Doesn’t she understand the word ‘I don’t want to’?

“I will not follow your concerns. Reign feeds, dresses, and gives me a shelter while I’m staying on this island so only he can tell me when I will leave and vanish in this place. If you can’t afford to see me, close your eyes and shut it,” I said in annoyance.

I didn’t wait for her to speak, and I immediately turned around and walked towards Reign’s men, who were still talking to each other. Maybe they felt my presence, so they immediately stopped their conversation and look in my direction, “What is it, Miss?” the one on the left side asked.

“I want to go home,”

“But the boss is not yet finished talking with the islander’s elder,” the one on the right side said. I don’t have time to ask for their names because I’m not interested.

“I’m not feeling well. I want to go back to Reign’s house and take a rest,”

They did nothing but accompany me back to Reign’s house when I said that I’m not feeling well. I don’t know how Sharmon reacted to what I said especially, my last litany, but I don’t care anymore because they are true.

Reign is the only one entitled to get me out of here because even he was the one who brought me to this island. I already ran away but I couldn’t. I did, but I failed. And even if I reattempted to get out of this place, the same thing will happen.

It’s like I’m inside Reign’s playing web. I was captivated with one of his strings, so that I couldn’t get out until or without his prior notice.

When I entered Reign’s colossal house, Thraia and the other maids immediately greeted me with their bowed heads, “How’s your morning with the master miss?” Thraia asked. I just smiled. She used just to answer when I asked her, and now she asks things.

“It’s fine,” I answered even though It wasn’t acceptable. I want to tour the village because it’s so beautiful in my eyes, but I lost my temper because of Sharmon.

Thraia raised her face and stared at me for a short time, and immediately lowered her head. She didn’t seem to agree with my answer, “Leave the Miss and me here. Go to the second floor and announce her arrival to Madam Letty,” the other maids just nodded their heads and began to disappear in front of us.

“Let’s take a seat in the living room, Miss,” I just nodded. When I sat down on the double-seater sofa, Thraia just remained standing by my side.

“You invited me to sit, but you just remained to stand,” I said, putting disappointment in my voice, “Sat beside me,” I added. Thraia wondered if she will sit next to me or not, and she has no choice but to do what I said.

“Do you know Sharmon?” I suddenly asked after she sat beside me. When I looked at Thraia, there was a look of concern on her face. It’s also a good thing that she doesn’t bow down anymore while we’re alone together.

“Yes. What about Sharmon, miss? Did she say something to you?” I nodded, “Knowing that woman, I already know what she will do about you. I don’t like her,” I was shocked about Thraia’s sudden change of mood.

“What’s with her?” Thraia sigh and look in front. It was apparent that she’s trying to hold her emotions go all out at once. Is there something between her and Sharmon? Like me, Thraia’s blood seems to be boiling because of the same woman.

“She’s a person with jealousy in life and a very destructive one, miss. She was crazy about master Reign, but the master has no interest in her,” I looked at Thraia’s hand that was clenched. She turned her eyes to me with anger, “Did she threatened you?”

“Yes. Sharmon wants me to leave this island,”

“The last time she told me that, I was captivated by the island takers,” I looked at her in shock, “I don’t know, but I felt that Sharmon has a connection to the happening between the island takers and this island. I thought that she’s a spy from the enemy’s nest. Before, the island takers only take goods away from this island, but when Sharmon become an islander, the island takers started harassing the females,”

“She was also jealous by the time when master Reign has gotten an interest at me to work at this vast house. Sharmon cursed me and even pray me to hell,” Thraia sigh because of frustration building inside her, “That’s the last time I saw her. It was three years ago. I never bothered to get out of the master’s house since I don’t have a family to go back to the village. All of the master’s people inside this house has no family to go home to in that village,”

I couldn’t believe what I heard about Thraia and Sharmon’s situation. If Sharmon is jealous, she doesn’t have to curse someone for digging her death. She’s the worst among all criminals.

I felt Thraia hold both of my hands that were placed above my legs, “Be careful, miss. I don’t know about Sharmon, but I can sense something dangerous from her. You should avoid being in contact with her. Especially when she already knew that master’s eyes are on you,”

I did not answer. I didn’t know that Sharmon wasn’t threatening me earlier. Is she giving me a warning of danger to come?
