Chapter 27: Chapter 27
Reign got off first when the speedboat reached the shore. He still holds the gun as he reaches out his hand to help me down as well. When I got down, he suddenly placed his right hand on the side of my waist and gently pulled me closer to him.
I was shocked at what Reign did. Even though he was hit by a bullet in the left arm, and I knew he was exasperated, his body didn’t seem to be running out of energy. Is he really a robot?
I just ignored him. I wanted to struggle, but I couldn’t because I was also losing physical strength. I just turned my gaze to the front.
“What happened to you, Sir Reign?” One of the female islanders suddenly asked while anxiously looking at Reign. When I looked at the faces of them all, I don’t know there was a trace of concern as they looked at Reign’s arm with a bullet wound.
Reign gently released my waist, but he kept me standing close to him. I looked at him, and honestly, I was surprised at the expression he showed to the islanders. I remember earlier how he claims that he owned them. I want to ask about it but maybe, some other time.
“It’s nothing big, Sharmon,” Reign said with a gentle smile plastered on his lips. When I looked to the front again, a woman named Sharmon was also smiling. I don’t know, but I suddenly felt weird. My heart seemed to ache for no apparent reason.
Can Reign smile like that for me? I shook my head. What did I just say? Why am I thinking like this?
To clear my mind about the current thought, I just turned my gaze in the other direction. I was surprised again when I caught one of the men islanders looking at me. What’s his problem?
I stared at this man. He had brunette skin that looked like it had been burned by the sun. But I noticed something strange about his color. Maybe it’s just new to my eyes because this is the first time I’ve seen someone like them. There are no people like them who exist in Drein City.
I stared at his face even more problematic because he suddenly smiled at me. Honestly, I have only seen the definition that they say ‘tall, dark and handsome.’ The man I’m staring at is handsome with height, but his existence is a bit dull because of his brown skin.
Suddenly the man’s smile faded from his lips when he turned his gaze to my side. I looked at Reign. I caught his eyes staring intently at the man who just stared at me.
“Enjoying the view?” Reign asked stiffly in a weak voice. My eyebrows went up. What view is this man saying?
“What are you saying?” I asked him back. It was as if we were fools mumbling while facing the islanders.
He rolled his eyes at me but immediately returned it to the man, “Do you like him?” he asked in a stern voice. My eyebrows conflicted as I frowned while giving him an unbelievable look.
Reign didn’t peek at me, but he looked closely at the man who smiled at me earlier. When I looked in front of Reign, Sharom was also staring at him. Suddenly the pain came back in my chest; why do I feel it?
“I think someone likes you. You should focus on the woman. Stop accusing me of something that I don’t have any idea,” I said and gave the woman a look who’s still staring at Reign.
Because of what I said, Reign looked at me. The annoyance on his face disappeared, and his expression suddenly brightened as if he had seen an angel in heaven. Suddenly a smile flashed on his lips. He looked at me like a mad dog. What’s his problem now?
“You mean,” he takes a look at the front and turns it back to me, “Sharom?” the grin widened even more on his lips when he saw my confused expression, “Are you jealous?” he asked, causing to choke my throat.
“WHAT?! JEALOUS?! NO WAY!” I scream as my face heats up. I feel like I have a fever, and the rumble of my chest is getting louder.
I was surprised by my own actions. Why am I shouting? I forgot that there were people around us, and when I looked at the islanders, they were looking at me curiously.
“Don’t mind her. She was just surprised about what happened,” Reign suddenly said to calm the islanders from the shouting I made. Fortunately, they listened to him.
I want to leave in front of the islanders because my underwear is already visible since the transparent dress I was wearing has gotten wet, and the surroundings are too cold. I don’t know what time because there is no sun coming from where we are.
I just stay silent behind Reign as he talks with the islanders. I don’t want to talk. I can still feel my body heat up because of what Reign said. Me? Jealous? For what reason?
“What happened? Why is there a wound in your arm and gunfire in the middle of the ocean, sir Reign? Are these the island takers? Are they here again to take our goods and the females?” asked one of the old male islanders.
Island takers? Take the goods as well as women? What are they talking about?
“Yes,” Reign’s eyes met mine as I turned to him. The expression around his face was severe. He immediately turned his gaze back to the islanders, “Don’t worry. Now that I’m here, no one can do silly things on this island. No one can touch my people. Especially,” he turned his blue eyes back to me, “my woman,” and emphasizes the last words and turned his eyes back in front.
I feel like a million volts have passed through my body and entered my flesh. I don’t know why Reign could give me this feeling. What’s going on? Why does he affect me like this?
I never heard what they are talking about after. I mean, I was listening to Reign and the islanders, but nothing enters my mind. I feel like I’m floating because of what Reign said earlier. It repeatedly enters my mind like a broken plaque.
My mind was floating until we got inside Reign’s house. I didn’t even notice that we were already here. I forgot to study the way out of this enormous house, but it was okay; I wouldn’t try to run away anymore.
With Reign saving my life out of death a few times, I had to return the favor. If he wants me to stay here, then I will. I’ll just tell him about my sister to take care of her while I’m gone.
I’m not trying to look like a gold digger, but it’s another conversation when it comes to my sister. If Reign wanted to keep me, he needs to use his money to take care of my sister that will be left behind for his own sake.
Until I took a shower, my brain was still floating. Not just because of what Reign said but because of what happened today.
After taking a shower, I immediately left the bathroom. I was even shocked to see Thraia making the bed.
When she felt my presence, she suddenly bowed, “Good evening, miss,” she greeted. I just nodded, and Thraia goes back on what she was doing.
I walked towards the chair that was placed near the bed and picked up the clothes on it. I don’t know who bought it, but I’m sure it came from the dressing room. Maybe, Thraia brought it up here for me.
I was about to go back inside the bathroom, but I immediately stopped as I hit Thraia’s direction. She is still fixing and changing the bedsheet, “Uhm, Thraia?” she stopped what she was doing and immediately turned to me while bowing.
“Yes, miss?” I was having a second thought to ask. Maybe even the question I want to know is still prohibited, but I took courage and ask right away.
“Can you tell me about this Island?” for no particular reason, Thraia suddenly looked at me in the eyes. This is the first time she made direct contact with me, “About Goriy Island?” Her eyes widened at the last word I spoke.
I even felt a twinge in my chest because of Thraia’s sudden change of expression. What is hidden under this island?
