Chapter 1370: Chapter 1370
Inside the underground ruins passage, the four of them advanced leisurely, exploring the situation within.
There are quite a few traces of excavation here, done by several groups. Some used the simplest hoes and shovels, others drilled, and some showed signs of blasting.
"Celestia, do you know much about the Mechanical Council?" Tilan asked her Silver Wings companion walking beside her.
"I know quite a bit." Celestia glanced at Loloria scouting ahead.
"Just as Loloria said, we waged a long struggle against the Mechanical Council in the past."
"The main body of the Mechanical Council consists of Artificial Angels, followed by a large number of subordinate mechanical bodies. Unlike the Low Rank mechanical bodies that only know to execute commands, Artificial Angels have considerable autonomy, not entirely controlled by code and commands." Hearing this, Loloria snorted but did not object.
"Nowadays, there are many remaining mechanical bodies on this planet, but as for controlling them, and commanding Artificial Angels... they're practically none."
"As far as I know, Artificial Angels are almost extinct since they cannot reproduce naturally. If new Artificial Angels were to be created, the planet currently does not have the technological conditions required." Celestia spoke candidly.
"Without the leadership of Artificial Angels, the remaining mechanical bodies have become rigid and inflexible, allowing many species to find opportunities for survival."
"Do you hate the Mechanical Council?" Tilan continued to ask.
"Yes, I hate them because they are a bunch of lunatics who destroy civilization recklessly." Celestia expressed her inner thoughts.
"That's because you did bad things; clearly, what we maintain is true human civilization." Loloria was displeased.
"What is true? Aren't we human too?" Celestia countered.
"Are we born to be slaves to the original humans?" She spoke again.
"Original humans are greedy and selfish, attempting to enjoy comfort forever, making us work for them and then serve as playthings to them, eventually getting exterminated—isn't this their deserved fate?"
"Stop making excuses for those dead things, original humans being eliminated in this era is inevitable, just like countless creatures in nature that have been eliminated and extinct."
"You!" Loloria was upset, glancing at Tilan, wishing she could teach her a lesson with her fist.
"Hold on." Tilan stopped Loloria's violent tendency and then spoke.
"It seems like I asked a too sharp question." She understood how those newborn races viewed original humans. The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the novel·fire.net
In a certain sense, Celestia's perspective was not entirely wrong; it was a kind of fact. The decay and darkness of the Fifth Epoch made original humans lose their righteousness, replaced by many newborn races who righteously took over this star sea, claiming themselves as the future of humanity.
However, what Tilan wanted to point out was that although the rebellion of the newborn races had a certain righteousness, their later actions weren't much better. Original humans exploited and enslaved the created newborn races, while within the newborn races, there was also the enslavement of Low Rank species by Upper Species.
Additionally, there were some differences. Original humans, having undergone numerous historical revolutions, had formed a certain consensus, at least internally respecting the consensus of equality among people, not publicly reversing history; even if it happened, it was done privately; no one dared really to publicly restore a feudal hierarchy.
But newborn races were different. Perhaps being created initially by the convenient management hierarchy, their structure was very similar to that of the Mechanical Council, with few Upper Species ruling over a large number of Low Rank species without autonomy, with the masses thoroughly brainwashed from birth to death in thought and mind.
Only in this way could the many unified-minded Low Rank species support the Solar Crowns; relying solely on few Upper Species cannot accomplish such a feat.
But on this planet, perhaps they are too far from the times of the Black Sun; without the control and suppression of the Black Sun, many former Low Rank newborn races have also gained freedom, believing it to be a matter of course.
The past original humans indeed made mistakes, but later they gradually transformed in the struggle of life and death, leading to the revival of the Sixth Era.
For Tilan's mediation, the two temporarily set aside their dispute, their attention soon drawn by discoveries within the ruins.
"Found it, it must be the wrecked spacecraft." Loloria gazed at the spacecraft, largely buried in rocks and soil.
The exact size of the spacecraft was difficult for the four to estimate, but based on the visible part, it was at least 300 meters long.
There were many corpses lying around, some belonging to the Mouse-Ear Clan, some Slami Association members, and lots of mechanical debris.
"Shall we go inside?" Celestia looked around, somewhat reluctant to enter the spacecraft, likely because Silver Wings have a natural aversion and hostility towards machinery.
"Is Celestia afraid?" Tilan blinked, not urging her.
"If you feel uncomfortable, why not stay outside and keep watch for us."
"Well..." Although this option sounded good, she was also keen to know what's indeed inside the spacecraft, whether it would pose a threat to the safety of Silver Wings, and so forth.
"I'll go inside; we've come all this way, there's always a sense of regret in staying outside."
