Chapter 34: Chapter 34
Chapter 32
We arrived at Alpha Greyson's palace safely. We also slept soundly in our room that night. Alpha Greyson rapidly fell into a deep sleep, most likely due to tiredness, and I couldn't stop staring at him while he slept.
The next day, Kylie and Rose came to help me dress. As usual, Alpha Greyson was gone when I woke up. Kylie and Rose told me that the Alpha king woke up early because he had something important to attend to so I ate breakfast alone.
After dining, I had some time to converse with Yna and Gina, as well as Mrs. Clea, but it wasn't long before I was summoned to the library to study.
Beta Miguel told me just now that from now on I need to study about being the queen of this kingdom. There is a teacher that will explain and help me through this study. That's why I wasn't startled to see an elderly woman sitting in the library today.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Luna," the elderly lady said, bowing her head.
"Nice to meet you too. By the way, what's your name?" I asked while sitting in the chair beside me.
"I'm Jona, your Majesty," she replied. I agreed by nodding. She also sat across from me, reading a book. She appears serious and strict. But I believe she is also intelligent.
"Do you have a rank in this palace?" I inquired as he flipped through a book.
"I'm an Omega, your Majesty," she announced. What she said astounded me. Is she an omega? In such a situation, may she have known the person who took Shena?
"It's great that you can also teach," I added. She simply smiled and conveyed what I needed to know for the day. Our first lesson was on proper queenly etiquette. She is an excellent teacher. I have to admit that I admire her. That's why I couldn't stop thinking about what I'd ask the man who took Shena. Also, I have no idea what that old man’s name is.
The only thing I know is that he is an omega, which reminds me of Ms. Jona.
I was called for lunch after two hours. I watched Ms. Jona discreetly fix her belongings.
"I'll be back at 2 p.m., your Majesty," she replied graciously as she exited the library. I simply nodded in response to what she said. I sense her evasion towards me. I'm not sure why. I tried to be kind to her previously, but she seems quite cold. She reminded me of Alpha Greyson.
While Alpha Greyson and I were eating lunch, I couldn't help but spaced out. Because I was out of control, I also accidentally spilled the juice on my clothes!
"Can you be more careful?!" Alpha Greyson said furiously as the housekeepers rushed to clean up my spilled juice. I took a deep breath and simply nodded in agreement with what Alpha Greyson said.
I went silently to my room with Kylie and Rose.
Kylie couldn't stop herself from saying, "Is there a problem, Your Highness?" I inhaled deeply.
"Nothing. I'm just thinking about something," I explained. Kylie merely nodded and continued to fix me along with Rose.
How can I approach Ms. Jona if she dislikes me? But why doesn't that elderly lady like me? I feel like I did something wrong to her that I don't remember. Perhaps I should ask her later?
Kylie and Rose were working on my hair when the door burst open. When Alpha Greyson walked in, the three of us were taken aback.
"Your Majesty," Rose and Kylie said as they approached Alpha Greyson.
"Leave us alone," Alpha Greyson said. Kylie and Rose quickly exited. When Alpha Greyson and I were alone, we glanced at each other. He crossed his arms and gave me an icy stare.
"What exactly is your problem?" he inquired. I look forward to it. I know Alpha Greyson won't miss my behavior earlier at lunch. I'm aware of how rigorous he is.
"Nothing. I'm just thinking about something," I explained.
"I just hope you don't get any sloppier because you're thinking that," he remarked. I bowed. He appears to be upset with me once more. He altered his direction toward me quite quickly. His mood really changes so fast. Last night, he was calm and kind to me.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled.
"Is it about your mentor?" he asked curiously. I raised my eyes at him. I had no idea he was interested in why I was acting this way. He approached me. When he sat in front of me, I blinked. My heart was on the verge of bursting!
"Tell me,” He persisted. I sighed deeply. "I get the feeling she doesn't like me," I admitted. When I first stepped onto this palace, I was reminded of Joy and the others. Everyone despises me. Alpha Greyson is among them. I am aware that I differ from them in some ways. I also understand that some dislike me because I resemble the Rema kingdom people. North Snow and Rema are rivals as well as adversaries. I'm sure they won't accept me that easily.
"You're sulking just because of that?" he asked in disbelief. I scowled. Isn't that a flimsy reason? After all, he has no idea what else I'm thinking. It also bothers me how to approach Ms. Jona about the man I'm seeking for. Maybe if I just tell her the physical characteristics and description of that old man, Ms. Jona could tell me who that man is!
"Of course, in order for me to learn more, I must also know how to get along with my teacher!" I reasoned. He leaned back in his chair and fixed his gaze on me.
"You'll learn even if you don't get along with her, and I'll punish her if she doesn't teach you effectively," he stated flatly.
"Why are you always punishing people? But even though! still want to be friends with her!"
"Suit yourself," he replied, shaking his head and standing up, and my gaze followed.
"Are you busy today?" I asked before he could leave the room.
"It's none of your business, though," he remarked as he walked away. I can't help but sigh once more. I'm not sure how to deal with him properly. I don't understand him either. He can be nice and caring at times, but most of the time he is unpleasant and cold! I want both of us to be okay, but I'm not sure how.
Ms. Jona was already there when I returned to the library. She immediately started when I arrived. I just sat there listening to her the entire time, and when we had a break, I couldn't stop talking.
"Ms. Jona... do you mind if I ask?" I inquired, a little hesitantly. She nodded and turned to face me.
"Of course, your Majesty," she told me. I inhaled deeply. "Do you hate me because I resemble Rema?" I'll ask. I felt her come to a halt. I realize it was too direct, but I couldn't help myself. I can't even ask her about the old man who took Shena if I can't reconcile her with me.
"Your Highness, you are mistaken. I don't despise you. I just want to be professional whenever I come into contact with you," she explained.
"I'm sorry. Maybe I just thought too much. It's just that many people dislike me because they think I'm from the Rema kingdom, but the truth is that I'm from here in the North Snow kingdom, and my parents died as a result of the Rogues—"
"You are from Rema kingdom," she remarked with certainty, and I blinked twice as I glanced at her.
"W-What?" I stammered, her serious face making me anxious, and the way she stared at me was pure coldness; I couldn't tell if she was lying or not.
"I'm not mistaken. I've seen you before," she remarked, making me even more apprehensive as she approached me carefully.
"When everything was fine between Rema and North Snow kingdom, I used to work for Rema kingdom's royal family. And perhaps I... I saw you before," she stated coldly. "That's why I'm not sure why you're here now; do... you really want to inflict more pain on the Alpha king of the North Snow kingdom? Haven't you already hurt him enough?"
What she was saying baffled me even more. I don't understand her, but I can't disregard what she says. Has she seen me before? Why am I here now? Do I want to inflict more pain on Alpha Greyson like I did before?
I'm not sure what she means. Did I do something I don't remember?
I was about to open my mouth to talk when Beta Miguel entered the library. And I was taken aback when the guards arrested Ms. Jona.
"Get off me!" yelled Ms. Jona when the guards apprehended her. I stared at Beta Miguel, perplexed.
"What's going on? Why are you arresting her?" I'll ask. Beta Miguel bowed.
"We heard what happened inside, Your Highness, and speaking improperly to the Queen is treason against the kingdom and the Alpha king," Beta Miguel stated.
"Let go of me! I didn't say anything wrong! Everything I said was true! Your Majesty!" yelled Ms. Jona till the guards took her out of the library. I cannot talk. I was shocked. I couldn't even move until I felt Alpha Greyson's presence in the library.
Kylie and Rose silently went with Beta Miguel, leaving Alpha Greyson and me alone. I don't know why, but I feel like something is happening that I'm not aware of. Why do I feel like something is missing that was once a part of me?
"Ignore what she said. I'll find you another mentor tomorrow—"
"Who is she, Alpha Greyson?" I ask.
"I told you to forget what she said—"
"Why would I forget it?!" I exclaimed. For a brief moment, he fixed his gaze on me. His jaw clenched.
My voice trembled as I asked, "Tell me... am I really from Rema?"
