Chapter 42: Chapter 42

**Cassie’s POV**

I yawned and saw my Marion wake up like this. He is looking at nothingness, and I can't help but cackle. My son is so cute! And he looks exactly like his dad.

At least I can still remember Kaiden's face because of my son.

I smiled sadly, but I also changed my expression as fast as I could. I do not want him to see me this way—sad, I guess.

"What do you want for breakfast, my little young man?" I asked him. He smiled and he told me to have crispy fried bacon and ham as well.

I accompany him inside the bathroom and let him do his morning routine. After freshening up, we are good to go.

There are plenty of appliances and things here inside, provided by Uncle Mason. So there is no problem for us since there is a fridge and gas stove, and we can now cook for our breakfast.

I sighed and imagined that it had only been a few weeks since Kaiden was gone, for real.

It feels off, to be honest—not just off but empty inside of our hearts.

"Mom?" My son walk in my direction and he wiped my tears. He smiled and nodded.

"We can make it through, Mom. Don't be sad, because I will not be sad anymore. I love you, Mom. Don't leave me too; I can't live alone." My heart was broken by his words. The way he talks is a sign that he knows everything. He knows what I am going through.

"Mom will never go away to leave you. Let us survive this!"

So the plan is that I have to become familiar with this place. My son is at the right age to be enrolled in school. I know that he is smart enough to go to high school. My son, Marion, was born completely intelligent.

There is no doubt about his acquiring those jeans from his father. The alpha blood does not make any werewolf stronger, more beautiful, and more muscular for men and dazzling for women.

Alpha genes confer more talents and intelligence than the majority possess.

But I still want him to study at a human school. He needs to adjust and become familiar with it.

We will live as humans for the rest of our lives. I have no plans on coming back to that chaotic place.

I feel sad for those pack members that we left there. They have a cruel alpha who is heartless enough to kill his brother.

I will never forgive that, Aron. If not for my son and his safety, I am willing to sacrifice myself just to cut his throat straight.

While we are in the middle of our breakfast, the doorbell rings, and I think someone is outside. I mean, I am not expecting my dad or my brothers to come here this day. So I am thinking, Who is it?

"Eat well, son. I will just look who is there." Maybe it is some sort of lost person.

I opened the door and saw a beautiful brunette woman wearing a simple dress, and she was holding a piece of the paper bag too.

"Hi! I am Angel. Welcome to this place! I just want to know you; I am residing next to your apartment, and as soon as I heard that I would finally have a neighbor, I prepared this food!" She said she was smiling, and I am so amazed at how large his lungs are. I mean, he said those words in one breath!

I can see that he is being genuine here. I also sniffed her, and I could not smell any poison or weapon as a threat.

"Thank you," I said to her. "Do you mind having a coffee or tea inside? I will just apologize in advance because it is still messy here. We have no time to organize everything."

She nodded. "No problem with that!" "Coffee will be lovely since I am a huge coffee lover."

I invited her inside and showed her the living room until we reached the dining area. Angel saw my son eating, and I saw her eyes shine like a diamond. As if she had found a lovely cat that she wanted to squeeze.

"Oh my gosh! You have a kid! And how handsome is he, kid! And how handsome is he? Look! He is so handsome. And of course, there should be no doubt about it. Because look at you! You are gorgeous too!

I smiled at her. "Thank you; have a seat, and I will just make a cup of coffee for you."

Because there was no warm water, I boiled some in a kettle. My son is talking to her newfound friend. Angel is beautiful, and you know that I have a keen eye for people, so by my judgment, I can see that Angel is a kind woman.

"How old is he now? What is his name? I hope that someday I can have a child looks the same!" I smiled at her.

"His name is Marion. He's turning five years old this year; I am not familiar with this place yet, and I want to find a nearby school. And also if I can seek a job." Well, there is nothing wrong with asking a question. Maybe she can help me a little bit.

Her eyes widened as if she had an idea!

"I am working as a secretary for the biggest company here; I will not say for discretion for now! But if you are willing to be a second secretary for my boss, it will be lovely! He is just a womanizer and a little bit arrogant and annoying, but he is someone you can handle. Just beware of his charm, or it will be an end game! By the way, about Marion's schooling, my brother is a teacher, so more or less I am glad to help you!"

I think she is an angel in disguise.
