Chapter 12: Chapter 12

My eyes welcomed the ostentatious view of the university. I couldn't believe my eyes, this university is incredibly exquisite. So beautiful that no words can explain it.

After finishing the remaining registration process, Hannah wished me success on my first day in school before she left.

I was walking down the long pathway and my eyes would glance at the map on my phone screen every few seconds. I needed to find my class with the aid of the map given to me.

On my way to finding my class I mistakenly bump into a sassy girl, she's fair, tall and beautiful but so arrogant.

“Hey fool, watch where you are going!" She snapped as she glared sullenly at me.

“I… I'm sorry," I apologize even though we are both at fault. Is not only my fault because she herself wasn't looking.

I'm an introvert and I must say, I'm also weak. I don't know how to stand up and fight for my rights not to talk of a school I recently got admitted into. I don't want trouble, so I should be more reserved than ever.

“Sorry for your stupid self. Look, I don't take apologies and make sure you don't cross my path again in this school because I hate you already," she snide.

“Outta my way," she spat and pushed me fiercely but luckily I was able to maintain my stamina by holding onto the pillar next to me.

what the heck is wrong with her?

I know she pushed me intentionally because there was enough space for her to walk through. She sounded and looked bittered. She said I shouldn't cross her path again. Well, she should know that I don't want to cross her path either.

I wish not to meet someone with such an outraged attitude like her. I hope other people I meet here will be nice to me.

I bend down to pick up my books and phone that are scattered on the floor. My phone fell off with my book when I collided with that arrogant girl. I hope it didn't break.

I first reached out to it and I picked it up and assessed it closely, luckily it didn't break, thanks to the pack I used in protecting it.

I was about gathering my books when I heard a beautiful feminine voice.

“Let me help you with that."

Before I could look up, the person had already crouched down to help me pick up my books.

After she helped gather the book, she handed it over to me with a resplendent smile.

She's a tan skin girl with beautiful verde eyes and black wavy hair. Her face is beautiful too.

“Thank you," I mumbled with a smile before collecting the books from her.

“You are welcome," she said. “Don't mind that rude girl, that's just her way."

It looks like she saw what transpired between me and that arrogant girl.

“By the way, my name is Jocelyn," she had a vivid smile as she stretched out her hand for a handshake.

“Constance," I replied, taking her hands and our hands entwined just for a second before we released them.

“I guess you are new here, you are a freshman, right?" She asked.

“Yeah, this is just my first day."

“I'm a freshman too but I resumed at the beginning of the semester. This is the middle of the semester, why resume so late?"

“Nothing serious, it was just a convenient time for me to resume."

No need of telling her the reason I resumed late. I dropped out from school and if not for grandfather, I wouldn't even be here.

“So, which department are you?" She asked once again.

“Journalism and media studies department."

“Wow! That's my department."

“Really?" I asked excitedly and she nodded.

“Come on let's go, I was even heading to class," she beckoned.

We walked to the class and I'm glad I don't have to go through the stress of using the map to find my class.

When we arrived at the class, a teacher was already there.

We greeted her but she asked me to introduce myself since I'm a new student.

The teacher has ebony black skin, with black eyes and hair. She looks beautiful and I love the radiance of her skin. If I'm given the chance, I would really say it to her face how beautiful she is. She also has a beautiful smile and flashed it at me while speaking to me.

“My name is Constance Thom… Williams." I nearly forgot that I was married so my name has literally changed from Constance Thompson to Constance Williams.

“Williams? Are you perhaps related to Jace Williams?" a girl suddenly asks within the students.

“That's impossible, a girl like her can't in any way relate to the almighty Jace Williams, the country's idol."

I quickly recognized the face of the student that spoke just now, she's that arrogant girl I met a while ago. I can't believe she's in the same class as me. I never wanted to meet her again, unfortunately I did.

“Are you related to Jace Williams?" another girl asks and I can see the curious eyes of the students staring at me, including Jocelyn.

Is this how they question anyone that has Williams as their surname?

I think I'm yet to understand how popular my husband is. All the students in this class know him, including the teacher who's also staring curiously at me.

I wanted to tell them that I'm Jace Williams' wife but how can I do that when my husband doesn't want it, he doesn't want anyone to know that I'm his wife and looking at these students, I don't know what their reaction would be if I tell them that am Jace Williams' wife. probably they will freak out.

“Why are you not answering the question being thrown at you?"

That was the arrogant girl. I ignored her.

“I'm not related to him, I happen to share the same surname with him."

This is the best reply to give them, no need of telling them the truth.

“Why the heck are you sharing a surname with my man? You must change your surname. Someone like you doesn't have the right to share a surname with Jace!" The arrogant girl hollers and some students supported her.

I can't believe they are so offensive because I'm sharing the same surname with my husband. I wonder how they will act if they know that I'm his wife. It looks like these students are obsessed with my husband. Well, to their information they shouldn't be. He's my husband and he's mine. Even though he doesn't love me, he's still my husband.

“Quiet!" the teacher stopped the blaring student and luckily they listened to her and the noise died.

“Please go have your seat my dear," the teacher said to me with a bright smile.

I nodded and walked to the empty seat beside Jocelyn.

“Don't mind those crazy students who are so obsessed with Jace," she said with a smile and I nodded as I returned the smile.

The lecture was smooth and after some minutes, the teacher concluded and left the class.

The moment she's out, the arrogant girl walked up to my seat with a grimace look.

I wondered what her problem is, is she still irked that I share the same surname with Jace Williams, I believe that she will burn in jealousy once she knows that he's my husband.

“I told you not to cross my path again but you still did and now you are sharing the same surname with my man," she grimed.

What! her man? This sounds so ludicrous. I'm sure my husband doesn't even know who she is and she has never spoken with him and here she is claiming him as his man.

I felt like laughing out at her ridiculous words. Even though she's arrogant, she's really funny. I restricted my laugh because I know it will upset her. I don't want to upset her because I don't want any trouble.

“I was so right in hating you at our first meeting. Like I warned you before, make sure to stay off my lane," she spat and walked away.

This girl is really a drama queen, she's asking me to stay off her lane as If I wanted to be in her lane. I don't like her.

“Don't mind Sacha, she's just a saucy girl," Jocelyn said after she left.

So her name is Sacha.

“I never minded her," I said.

We had a few more lectures before it was time for lunch. I had lunch with Jocelyn as she told me more from the little she knows about the school.

Jocelyn is such a nice girl and I'm glad that I met someone like her on my first day at school.

“My driver is already here, I will start going now," Jocelyn said after the lecture was done for the day.

“Is your driver on the way or do you mind joining me? My driver can drop you off at your house," she added.

“That's so nice of you but you don't have to bother, my driver will be here any minute from now."

“Okay, see you tomorrow."

She bid me goodbye before leaving.

Jake arrived a few minutes later and we drove home. Grandfather had ordered him to always pick me up from the school once lecture was over for the day.

I took some notes from Jocelyn, since I joined them in the middle of the semester, I need to catch up with them.

When we arrived home, I took a cool bath and retired to copy the note. It was just a small note she jotted down during lectures but I found it essential. She sent the main note to me via pdf. I need to read more to catch up with the rest of the class, it is not going to be easy but I will try my best.

When it was time for dinner, I went downstairs for dinner. Hannah was the only one at the dining table.

“How was school today?" Hannah asked when I settled down on my seat.

“It was good, I met a new friend," I replied.

I told her about my experience in school today but never mentioned the arrogant Sacha.

“I'm glad you love your first day in school. Just keep on studying hard and you will achieve your dream," She said with a lucid smile.

I told her my dream of becoming a journalist and a writer in the future. It has always been my dream and I believe that I will fulfill it one day. I'm slowly building my dreams of becoming a writer by writing a few novels but I never shared it with anyone, I feel shy to do so, I just kept it to myself.

After dinner, I returned to my room. My husband returned some minutes later. He was on the phone. As always he looks handsome.

This is the same man the students in my class were gushing over, I can't believe he is my husband. I blush and smile inwardly before returning my gaze to the laptop in front of me.

I was busy with my laptop when I heard my husband's voice. I guess he was through with the phone call.

“How was school today?" He asked.

I was taken aback by his question or maybe shocked. When did my husband start caring about me or did I hear wrong?
