Chapter 4: Chapter 4
ELIZZE
After what happened that night, I didn't know how to act infront of Davien anymore.
The next morning, Edward, the camera man, was nowhere to be seen. Davien probably kicked him out.
I was afraid. Really afraid that he will show the footage of me and Edward kissing to my parents or worse post it on the internet. If that happens, Elegant Force will eventually go down and I will be entitled a wife who cheated on her husband the very first night of their honeymoon.
Together with the fear is my anger. Yes, it was my fault because I got drunk and let Edward flirt and kiss me but it isn't enough reason for him to make me do something like that. He made me touch and suck him against my will.
We spend one more day in Hawaii with Davien not sparing me any glance and is locked up into his room doing god knows what. Probably work. All I did was scroll on social media.
The pictures of me and him in our so called homeymoon are all over the internet. This time, there weren't so many hate comments about me. Some complimented me instead. Though there still were some jealous girls who talks shit about me I couldn't care less.
The whole day, I didn't get to see Davien. And I don't have such determination and braveness to go into his room so I stayed silent and waited.
Finally, a next morning came and we were already flying back towards our home. Davien was sitted on the opposite side of the private airplane. There's this a huge aisle between us. Stuck on his phone and doing non stop business. Not even saying a simple glance at me nor even a single word.
It's as if I was complete invisible in his eyes.
I prefer this treatment though.
His attitude that night was a complete opposite of who he is right now. I'm beginning to think he has some kind of a bipolar disorder.
I silently sat down and watch the clouds through the window glass. They looked like huge cotton balls and I find them really interesting and comforting to look at in these kinds of times.
Less than an hour later we were already heading towards a huge space, and we finally arrived at the airport.
Upon landing, we directly went down from the airplane. There were a few of Davien's men escorting us towards the car that was waiting for us.
One of his men opens the door of the car for me. I enter and position on the back seat. Davien sat beside me and once again, there was nothing but silence along the way.
According to the schedule, after the honeymoon we would be going to our house. Yes, Davien and I will be staying on one roof. Like a real husband and wife would.
I was kinda against it since I'm fine in my condo but it would not definitely work. My life has changed. I am now married to a rich CEO and people bumping into and seeing me in a condominium and not inside a house together with my husband would 'cause suspicions.
I took a deep sigh and just watched the road through the window beside me.
Davien has never laid his eyes on me since what happened that night. I also couldn't look at him because of hatred, anger, fear and even embarrassment.
He already has something against me and he knows he could make me do everything just to stop him from revealing it to anyone.
"We're here." It was the first time I got to hear Davien's voice in the past two days. "Stay here. I'll open the door for you."
By looking at the window, I can see his parents and my parents near the mansion, waiting for us. It explains his behavior now. He really knows how to act nice. Opposite from how he treated me in the past three days.
Just like he said, he opened the door
I was a bit taken aback when he handed me his hand. Because I know our parents are watching, I accepted it and he gently escorted me out.
"Welcome home Mr. Davien Williams and Mrs. Elizze Williams!" Davien's mom welcomed us with the ultimate energy.
I smiled seeing how happy they were, looking at us walking towards them. I greeted the mothers with a kiss on the cheeks and the fathers with a gentle hug.
All of us are currently standing in front of a huge and elegant mansion. It is three-stories with themes of beige and white, it was the perfect home for us. Beside it is a vast garden with a huge pool where a lot of people are gathered and is busy preparing for a welcome party that will take place later tonight.
"Wow.." I couldn't help but to admire it.
"The perfect house for the newly wed couple!" Mom said with pure excitement.
"Isn't it beautiful?" Davien's Mom said with admiration. "Come! It's more beautiful on the inside!"
She then dragged me and Davien towards the huge two way door. It was opened by two of their men and she didn't lie, it was really very mesmerizing on the inside. It was the living area that you could see first and then the dining area.
Towards the very middle is a long and huge staircase. It has also a chandelier on the very middle part. Giving enough light together with the few bright bulbs.
After touring around the groundfloor, we head towards the second floor.
"Since individual privacy is needed and because we know you're still not comfortable with each other there are two rooms for the both of you." Dad said as arrived at the rooms.
"And ofcourse in case you change your mind there is always one more huge room for the both of you to share." Davien's Dad said with a teasing tune, opening a door that leads to the largest room in the house.
"We'll be using that one, Dad." I was taken aback by Davien's words. He held me by my waist and then pulled me towards him. "Me and Elizze are comfortable with each other already." he stated with a smile.
Our parents' faces were filled with relief and happiness.
"Really?" Davien's Mom couldn't believe it.
"Is that right, dear?" My Mom asked me for a confirmation.
"I.." don't know what to say. I glanced at Davien and he was staring back at me with a meaningful gaze and a small smile and so I responded.. "Yes, Mom.." I forced a smile. "We got to know each other on our honeymoon and I guess I can say we're pretty close now?"
All of them chuckled at my words and so was Davien.
"Don't you all worry." I looked at him as he said those words. "We don't know what will happen in the future but me and Elizze will try to make this marriage work."
And then he stared at me and I looked away in awkwardness. I very well know that this is all for show. Do not worry both of our parents.
"Thank you.." it was Davien's mom.
"We were really worried about the both of you because of this whole situation. I know this is against your will. To enter marriage even though all you knew was each other's names.. but we will make sure too and try our best to guide the both of you."
"We can make this marriage a success." Davien's Dad added.
After the talk, we went towards the third floor where the private dining area and Davien's office is at. From its veranda, the beautiful garden and the pool can be seen.
"Your dress and Davien's suit are already inside your bedroom. We've prepared it and I bet you both will look good in those!" Mom exclaimed as we went back to our bedroom.
"The colors is matching and I can't wait to see you two later!" Davien's Mom added with the same excitement.
After thanking them Davien and I entered the room. At the entrance, I can't help but to scan the area. It is spacious and huge on the inside. With a veranda separated by a huge glass door, the atmosphere is relaxing.
"Elizze." Davien called me and he had a full switch of behavior.
Unlike the kind husband he turned into a heartless and cold man.
"What?" I responded with coldness too. I watched him sit down on the sofa.
"Sit here. Let's talk." he demands and motions to the sofa opposite to him. It was separated by a single coffee table. I did as he said.
He silently laid a black folder on the table. With his signal, I read it.
"What's this?" I asked.
"An agreement," he answered.
I scanned through the words. There were a few simple sentences and it was numbered with a blank space left for me to sign on the bottom right.
"A deal for our marriage and separation?" I stated, confused.
"Yeah." he leaned against the sofa. "Did you really believe what I said earlier?" with arrogance, he raises his brow. "To make this marriage work, that is."
"Honestly, yes." I said frankly. "I thought you'd be kind enough to grant your parents' wish."
He scoffed at me.
To sum all of it up, the agreement states that after five years, we both will sign an annulment. He will manage LM Entertainment alone and I will take care of Elegant Force myself. All lines are cut off. We will leave each other alone.
We will pretend to be happy infront of our parents and especially on the media.
These deals are unbiased and I don't really have a problem towards this but..
"Five years?" I wanted to make it clear. "Don't you think it's a bit too short?"
"It's long enough for me," he insists. "With Elegant Force on LM Entertainment's shoulder, those years are enough to bring prosper back to your company again." He suddenly scoffs, making me furrow my brows. "Unless.. you have grown to like my dick."
I clenched my jaw in anger.
He's making me puke.
I looked away to wear off the disgust and shame on my system. "Fine, I can bear this marriage that long." I decided to ignore his last sentence. "What about our parents?"
"We'll sort out a plan to make the break-up realistic." he's back to being serious.
How sarcastic it is, there's not even a week after our wedding and here we are planning the annulment already.
"And also.." he leaned down and put both of his elbows on his thighs. "I'd like to add one more in that agreement."
"What is it?" I asked him.
And for a few seconds, he stared at me. Awkwardness started to eat me up again by how his eyes looked at me.
"Love," he began. "We should not get ourselves engaged with that word. Especially you.." My brows knitted again. "You should not fall in love with me, Elizze.."
I couldn't help but chuckle with sarcasm. "So full of yourself, aren't you?"
He once again leaned on the sofa. "I'm just saying.." he shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows what could happen," he added. "So, what do you think?"
I looked down on the contract and reviewed all of the conditions written. After reading it a few times and making sure I won't leave a single word behind, I picked the ballpen and signed it. I close it after writing my signature.
"Deal."
"Very well." Davien stands up and picks the black folder. "I'll see you at the party tonight. The media has both of their eyes on us. Make sure to act right later."
"You don't have to remind me." I said without looking at him.
He froze right where he stood up before letting out a deep and mad sigh.
Davien's got a pretty low patience.
I watched as he turned his back and made his way out of the room. Only when he's out of my sight I can totally breathe.
Leaning against the sofa, I let off a deep sigh.
My life really is not the same anymore.
AS MUCH AS I hate to attend the party, I have no other choice so here I am, wearing a white and shiny evening dress that reaches to the ground. The elegance and formality is balanced. It fits perfectly on my curves and has a fashionable slit on the left leg that makes the dress perfect on the eyes.
The makeup artist is done with my face and hair too.
By the veranda, I can hear people's chattering and even the slow beat of the music.
To be honest, I'm a bit afraid to face all of those people. It's my first time being on these kinds of occasions.
I don't know how to act nor what to say in front of them. I also don't have a single friend there. I really hope this won't be awkward for me.
I looked at myself in the mirror and saw a different lady. I didn't know makeup can make magic like this. I almost didn't recognize myself. Amidst of what I'm doing, the door suddenly opens.
"Good evening, Mrs. Williams." one of the guards greeted me. "Sir Williams is waiting for you on the ground floor."
And that was my cue to finally stand up. I took a deep breath and once again looked at my appearance.
Here we go, Elizze.
I stood up from my seat. The guard opened the door wide and lets me pass through. I slowly walked towards the hallway and upon arriving at the staircase, just like the guard said, Davien is already waiting for me.
He slowly turned towards my direction when he heard the tapping of my heels. My so-called husband is wearing a black semi-formal suit.
It was hard going down the staircase because of my heels and the long dress so he makes his way towards me and lends me his hand. I accept it and he guides me as I walk down.
At Least he's a gentleman in these kinds of times.
"Thank you.." I was kinda hesitant to say it but here you go.
Without a word, Davien offered me his arm. I understand what he means and so I hooked my hand on it.
"Relax," he says without looking at me. "I can almost hear your heart beating so loud." I took a deep breath. "Just smile and leave everything to me." he turns his face to me before adding in a straight face. "I got you.."
I don't know but those words made me feel assured and somehow, my nervousness and the fast beating of my heart slowed down.
"Okay.." my voice was almost a whisper. "Let's go."
And that was our cue to finally start walking out to the main door. It was opened by two of our guards and there was a red carpet lying on the floor, guiding us where to walk to.
As we are stepping closer to the garden, I can hear the classical orchestra playing. It somehow calmed me down a bit. I steal a glance at Davien and he was just staring infront.
"Finally, Mr. and Mrs. Williams, the ownder of this beautiful and huge mansion, the newly wed couple, has arrived!"
Because of my mother's voice, all the visitors who were sitting on different tables, all stood up and clapped their hands.
We are currently standing on the aisle and all I can give to those people is a nervous smile.
There weren't that many visitors tonight unlike the wedding. This time there were only business partners of both me and Davien's parents including their families, sons and daughters who wish to see us.
With my hand still on Davien's arm we walk towards where our parents are. Right on the middle table where all the most important guests are sitting.
Davien pulls me a chair and I sit down before he pushes it again. He follows positioning beside me. On my other side is where my younger sister, Emily is sitting.
I spotted a very familiar face on my opposite. He smiles at me and gaves me a hidden wave. It's Jerold Harris. The actor who stopped by on my cafè. I responded with a smile too.
Beside him is a young lady, wearing a beautiful red dress. When my eyes landed on her, she automatically smiled and so I did it back too.
And then she switches her gaze towards the man opposite to her, to Davien. I can sense something about her stare but I choose to shrug it off.
"Congratulations to the both of you." a woman on my mother's age greeted us with a warm smile.
"You both are now entitled as the power couple of this country!" a man said, probably on his 40's. "I'm not wondering why though, you really look good together."
We all chuckled at the compliment.
"Thank you." I stated.
"A handsome CEO and a beautiful and gorgeous heir, what a beautiful pair." another business partner added. "Both of you are all over the country's billboards."
"Everyone on social media is talking about you two." another lady said.
"There were tons of rumors and suspiciouns circulating around too." The young lady in red dress suddenly butts in. "We didn't have any single news about Mr. Davien Williams having a girlfriend. Then one day, he's already getting married."
The atmosphere became awkward. Neither any of us tried to say a word. Not even my parents who stayed silent the whole time.
"I'm good at hiding, Miss Monique." All of a sudden, Davien spoke. Going against what the young lady had said. "I'm an entertaintment company owner but I never want to disclose any personal relationships to the media. It's not like I can please people all the time. Besides.." Davien stared at me and I stared back at him. His eyes were once again fooling me.
It was filled with adoration and love but a fake one. Just for show.
"I didn't want anyone knowing about this gorgeous woman that I own.." he caressed my face and tucks my hair on the back of my ear. It made my cheecks burn. "They might steal her but now that we're finally binded by law.. I can finally show her to everyone. I want to show them.. just how fortunate I am.."
He looked away, smiling at everyone who were in a complete awe of his vow-like words. My eyes remained on him and I couldn't look away.
My heart is pounding so fast. Real fast.
I didn't expect he could say such sweet words with those lips full of lies.
"Love is really sweet." I looked towards Davien's Mom and I can see her almost tearing up together with my Mom.
"I knew I had the right man to give my daughter to." Dad said with a smile.
I looked away from Davien. Realising and reminding myself that this was all for show. That those words were nothing but lies.
No, Dad. He isn't the right man.
