Chapter 78: Chapter 78

Married to Mr. Arrogant

Subtitle: Getting to know him

Written by : Marvy Hyacinth

Justin stared and wondered why Zara was afraid to speak about such details when Julian was just a past tense in the affairs concerning the company.

Was there something that went on around the company that he didn't know about??

He was sure that something was definitely going on that he had no idea about.

Few hours later...

♡Julian♡

After carrying out my duties for the day, I was now seated in my car, about to go home. I turned the key in ignition switch on and pressing my foot on the accelerator, I zoomed off in the car.

As I swerved onto the road that led to my home, I thought about what I had seen last night and rage filled me as I thought about it.

Maybe I was dreaming then, because there'd be no way Justin would sleep with my woman. But I wasn't, I definitely wasn't sleeping, so it wasn't possible that it was a dream.

I really wished it was a dream though, but no, Justin and that bitch of a wife had dared through mud on my name and self esteem.

How dare they!

How dare they do that in a room right opposite mine?!

Had Justin become so fearless that he'd do that notwithstanding the consequences that could follow if I found out about their abominable act??

Forgetting Justin for a while, let me focus my mind solely on that cheap woman called Kylie. She actually had the guts to go into my brother's room and sleep together with him.

"What audacity!" I muttered under my breath and let out a cackle after.

My smile disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared and I dialled a number afterwards. Just as I ended the call after giving a few instructions, I pressed hard on the accelerator, getting home fast on my mind.

"Is that all you want me to do?" I asked, clinging the phone onto my left ear tightly.

" Yes, that's all. Can you do it?"

"Of course, I can. This is a very easy job compared to other instructions I've carried out."

"Alright then, I'll leave you to it."

"Yes, trust me, he won't be going back anytime soon." I said, a smirk playing on my face and I set my phone aside as the line went flat.

"What was that all about?" I heard someone say and it felt like a bucket of ice was poured on my head.

'Wait, isn't that Mr. Justin's voice?? I hope he didn't hear what I said while I was on a call.' I hoped silently and turned around to face him.

"Sir?..." I said, in hope that me acting ignorant would save me from this situation, a situation that could earn me penniless if I happen to get caught.

"Aren't you going home yet?" He asked, and I looked at his hands.

In his right hand was his briefcase and on his left, his coat. It was easy to tell that he was headed home, especially as he was standing at the corner of the corridor where I was.

"No sir, not yet. I think I'm going to work till late tonight." I said, choosing my words carefully so as to not ruin anything.

" Alright then, Keep up the good work." He said afterwards, and turned to continue towards the Elevator.

This wasn't panning out well, and out of desperation, I grabbed hold of his arm, damning whatever consequences may follow.

I got his attention and he turned to look at me, more like glare at me.

"What are you doing?"

"I... I'm sor..." I stuttered and his eyes glared viciously at me.

" Fvcking get your hands off me!" He thundered and I shook, fear the major reason.

I had never seen him glare at anyone the way he did just now, except to his brother and it was true what they said - calm people were the deadliest.

I wouldn't mind that though.

I was not going to let him go home now, and even if I failed in convincing him to stay, I was going to make sure I stalled him.

"I'm so sorry for grabbing your arm. I actually did it because I wanted to let you know that most of the things I'd be working on tonight needs your attention as well, and I can't push them off till tomorrow." I made up some randomly true excuse and threw at him for him to catch.

" That's a professionally lane excuse, you know that, right?" He asked and I looked up at him, staring into his eyes for a split minute.

" That's the truth sir. It's not my fault that you weren't in the office for over two weeks, is it?" I dared ask, emotional blackmail on my try out list next.

"Yes, my absence had nothing to do with you, and was certainly not your fault, but it wasn't mine also. You know what?? You're supposed to be a professional, so I won't tell you that you've crossed a line between professionalism and unprofessionalism, because I'm sure you know fully well what you did." He said and paused, letting me know that he wasn't done yet.

I rolled my eyes at him in my head.

" I'm sorry, the air was tensed up, I didn't know when that escaped from me."

" It's not just a mistake, miss Zara. You dared to question your boss, and I'm not going to let you go off so easily, because this is not the first and neither is it the second time you're doing this."

I looked up at him, strangling him to death on my mind, but I decided to keep calm.

" Once again, I'm sorry, Mr. Hardey."

" I'm only letting you off this very moment because it's past work hours, but tomorrow, you're surely going to answer for this, miss Zara." He concluded and I bowed slightly.

" Bring everything we ought to and can work on this night into my office and let's deal with the materials before 11pm. Once it's 11pm, I'll leave." He let out and turned around to go back into his office.

I smiled devilishly, following behind him slowly and applauding myself as I finally convinced him on staying for a few more hours.

Though I'd go home tonight and wake up tomorrow with cramps in every joint in the morning due to the work I'd do tonight, I'm still very glad I managed to carry the assignment given to me.
