Chapter 48: Chapter 48
Tristan seemed to be sitting while rubbing and massaging his smooth chin. His eyes were straight but looked blank as if he was daydreaming about something. I don't know what the brown-haired man is thinking right now.
Mario, who had been in the room for more than 30 minutes, was stunned to wait until his boss realized and returned to focus on completing the work that had piled up.
"Mister."
Mario, who couldn't stand the wait, finally called. After all, if you stay like this, the problem won't be solved right away.
"What Happen, Mario? What do you want to discuss with me this time?"
Tristan said reluctantly. The man's gaze didn't look the least bit away from what he had previously noticed.
"How long do you want to daydream like that?" asked Mario, a little exasperated. Ah no. He seemed excited and annoyed at the same time. Since knowing his wife, who suddenly went to the hospital, Mario realized that his boss's attitude had immediately changed 180 degrees.
No longer arrogant and cold, instead so sad and a little melancholy. Strange indeed. He even thought that maybe his Master had Hypomania or Moodswing. Sometimes it's good and looks gloomy, even like a depressed person.
"I don't know, Mario," Tristan said quietly. "I'm just not in the mood to do anything. Just want to be quiet and reflect."
Mario immediately chuckled. Confused about what to do next.
"If there is a very serious problem, you can tell it to me. If I can help, I will definitely help as much as I can. Don't stay silent and daydream like this," Mario complained openly. Hell, if Tristan is after this angry or offended by his words.
"Many deadlines have not been touched, Mister. If this continues, all work will fall apart. Shouldn't we be professionals? Don't forget, Foxtail's fate is in your hands."
Now, it was Tristan's turn to sigh softly. Before long, the man straightened up. Loosen the tie a little around his neck. After feeling comfortable, he looked up and then spoke again.
"I'm confusing Sophia right now."
Mario's brows furrowed. Thinking and guessing simultaneously why the Master is confusing the Mistress.
"What's wrong with your wife? Has her health gone down again?" I guess Mario wanted to know. "No. I don't care about that."
"Then, dizzy because what else this time?" Mario asked as if there were a lot of other things that Tristan often bothered about in front of him.
"I'm dizzy and confused because a few days ago my wife asked for an immediate divorce, Mario. He didn't even want to meet and forgive all my actions before I signed the agreement regarding the divorce he was suing."
"Good grief." Mario finally understood. Now he knew what had caused his boss to look so grumpy all this time. But wait. As if there was something strange Mario caught from this conversation, and he needed to clarify.
"Mister, I'm sorry if I'm being presumptuous. But didn't Mister first approach and then marry Mrs. Sophia for a specific purpose? I remember very well, you used to tell me to investigate everything related to Mrs. Sophia in order to get close and then ensnare her, right?"
Tristan nodded. Confirming what the assistant asked.
"Yes, you're right. I didn't forget that, Mario. I did marry Sophia out of revenge for her father, Alfonso Adelaide."
"Of Course!" Mario spoke again in a deliberately accentuated voice. "Because your plan has gone well. Even Alfonso Adelaide has been arrested by the police. So why bother yourself now when Mrs. Sophia is filing for divorce right now? Aren't you not in love with your wife one bit?"
Again, Tristan sighed. His assistant made him even dizzier by shouting a series of heart-wrenching sentences. It's not wrong. If you remember the original goal, what Mario said was all true.
"So you think I should just divorce Sophia, then?"
Mario nodded confidently. "If all the plans have been implemented, what are you waiting for? Or maybe ----"
"Could it be, what do you mean?" Tristan hastily cut in.
"Yeah, just in case you're feeling dizzy right now because you're really in love and don't want to let Mrs. Sophia go."
Tristan suddenly laughed. Even though there was nothing funny about what Mario had just said, even if Tristan did fall in love with Sophia, it was only natural.
In addition to having attractive looks and personalities, the intensity of their frequent meetings would be impossible, if not the slightest bit of chemistry in Tristan's heart. It's so bullshit.
Don't forget; they have even been in touch many times like husband and wife. Tristan could tell which parts of Sophia's body were and which were not. Then, less especially from the relationship between the two.
"No, Mario," Tristan said again. "I don't think I'm really in love with Sophia. In fact, the good I'm doing now is nothing more than pity and guilt for the bad things I've done to her."
Mario looked suspiciously. Tristan's mouth may say pity, but from the look in his eyes, you can tell he has more feelings for his wife. Maybe too proud to admit. After all, that's the nature of most men. It's hard to admit your feelings.
"Then? What else are you bothering about? Just divorce it as the madam requested. It's a shame if you're kept in custody like now."
Tristan just nodded in response to what Mario had just said. Before he could utter a word, his assistant asked another question.
"Then if you really get divorced in the near future, what will Mister do after that?"
Tristan rolled his eyes. Thinking about what to do after this. It wasn't long before he remembered something.
"Well, maybe I'll marry Aurora. You know, I basically had a promise to marry her long before I met Sophia," Tristan said casually.
"You are sure?" Again Mario squinted. From the beginning, he seemed to doubt everything his boss said. "It's not that you don't love Mrs. Aurora. Don't say you wanted to marry her out of necessity."
Tristan smiled with a relaxed expression on his face. Not offended when the assistant continued to bombard him with many questions that were sometimes deliberately cornering.
"Love is just a chemical reaction that can arise and even disappear at any time, Mario. Even if I don't love now, who knows in the future that feeling will grow by itself. No one knows what will happen in the future, right?"
Mario nodded. No longer denying the decision that Tristan has chosen. Either way, he wishes the best for his boss and co-worker.

"Want me to help?"
Edward offered to Sophia, trying to get out of bed slowly. Today, according to the schedule, Sophia was allowed to go home.
After careful consideration and making sure that the gunshot wound to his stomach was dry, the team of doctors invited him to outpatient treatment at his own home. Since morning, Sophia seemed enthusiastic.
She can't wait to breathe free air because she too bored for days, just curled up in bed. Edward even deliberately did not come to the office today because he wanted to accompany Sophia to care for her needs.
After all, there was no one else she could rely on now but herself. He also didn't want to let Tristan take over all of this even though, from his status, that man had more right to do anything. Luckily, his best friend never raised his nose again after the last time he got into an argument with Sophia. So, for now, Edward is winning a lot.
"Don't bother," Sophia said when she managed to get out of bed. "If you help at all, I can't learn to adapt, Ed. Later on, I'll be slow to heal and even bother you."
Edward smiled. While continuing to stuff Sophia's clothes into the suitcase, he responded to the woman's words in front of him.
"It doesn't matter, Sophia. I'm just glad that you can bother you all the time. That means, the two of us can continue to see each other every day. In fact, I intend to move to your house so that I can monitor and take care of you 24 hours," he joked as if there was no burden.
"Don't be crazy, Sebastian Edwardo!" Hearing those words, Sophia chuckled. At that time, she immediately protested. "What would people say if you had to live with me. I'm not like the young women you hang out with," she accused.
"Geez, Sophia, I was just kidding." Edward immediately pouted. Stopped the movement of his hands to cast a protesting gaze at the woman he liked so much.
"Besides, why do you still like to accuse me carelessly. I haven't played around with other women in a long time."
Instead of believing it, Sophia narrowed her eyes. Throwing a look as if doubting what Edward had just said.
"Oh yes?"
"For God's sake, Sophia. Don't be fooled by what Nicholas says. Just so you know, I've never seen or made any appointments with any woman other than you."
"Yes, Yes, Yes." Sophia nodded. End the argument with Edward.
After ensuring everything was neatly arranged in the suitcase, they decided to go home immediately. When was arrived, Mikayla was already there to welcome the princess. The middle-aged woman slowly and carefully led the princess and Edward to rush into the dining room.
"Mama has prepared food for the two of you to eat. Eat first, then continue your activities." Sophia and Edward complied. After all, the two hadn't eaten any heavy meals since morning. Only bread Sophia ate to swell her stomach for a while.
"After this, I'll go home first, Sophia. I have a few things to do. Maybe tonight or tomorrow morning, I'll visit again," Edward said as he shoved the spaghetti carbonara into his mouth. "Don't bother," Sophia replied. I'm not alone in this house, Ed. There was Mama and the other servants. You can finish your work first. You come back to my house when you're free and accessible."
Edward chuckled. Instead of agreeing, he put on a scowl. "You can't, Sophia. I'll miss you later."
"You're too much!" Both of them laughed together. Continuing the conversation for a while, then Sophia led Edward to the front because he had to say goodbye to go home. After making sure Edward's image disappeared from sight, slowly Sophia with assisted by his mother to walk into the room.
As soon as he opened the door, she was surprised by something. Her eyes were fixed on the decorations and the neat arrangement of luxury items that filled the room. Before she had time to ask, her mother had already explained.
"You must be wondering, right? How come your room looks like this?"
Sophia was still looking around the room in amazement. She knew very well the new things that were neatly arranged in her room.
"Yes, why did you have to change the decoration of my room like this?" every corner of the room. "It wasn't Mama who did all this." Sophia was shocked. Stopping her steps, she had to turn around to look directly into her mother's face.
"Not Mama? Then who?"
"Your husband," Mikayla answered without the slightest hesitation. "Tristan did all this, Sophia. He deliberately bought everything he said was similar to yours at his house. Tristan also asked Mama not to refuse him one bit. He ordered you to accept what he's done this time."
Sophia was silent. Not sure how to respond. If she was weak, her heart would naturally waver. While she was determined not to have anything to do with a creature called Tristan Quartararo. "This is you hoping I will forgive you, you are wrong, Tristan."
Meanwhile, at the Quartararo family's residence, Aurora looked confused to find the whereabouts of Tristan, who had not seen the bridge of his nose. After checking here and there, he finally found the man who is now was sitting contemplating in the reading room. There were piles of business books strewn randomly on the table, while in the man's hand was a blue folder that he had probably just finished reading.
"Jesus, Tristan. I've been around looking for you. Didn't you hear me shouting your name earlier?" complained Aurora, half annoyed. The woman immediately took a seat right next to the white man.
"I've been here all along, Aurora. Maybe because I was too busy reading books, that's why I didn't hear you call me," Tristan replied casually. The man's gaze didn't even move from the paper he was holding.
"It's already eight o'clock. Aren't you having dinner?" Aurora asked, glancing at the watch on her wrist. "Perhaps the food Samanta served has gone cold because it hasn't been touched for too long. I've been starving for waiting for you all this time."
This time Tristan raised his face. He flashed a smile and then chuckled a little.
"If you're hungry why don't you just eat? I didn't ask you to wait for me. You're not a child that I have to feed, are you?" Aurora's snort became clearer after hearing Tristan's words that seemed casual.
"It's you! Don't the rules in this house never change? Always eat together, whether breakfast or dinner?"
Tristan nodded. Aurora wasn't wrong. Before the woman came to her house, Tristan's parents had made such a rule. And he has applied it to all members of the house until now. "But I'm not hungry right now, Sophia."
"Huh? Did you say just now? Sophia?" Aurora scowled, even more when Tristan sounded the wrong name. "Ah, I know, now. You're thinking about your wife, aren't you? Could it be that you're afraid to separate from Sophia? That's why I've seen you gloomy at every turn."
"Jesus, what are you talking about Aurora?"
Tristan immediately refuted the accusations of the woman next to him. "Don't make accusations."
"Just admit it, Tristan. After Sophia didn't see you in the hospital the other day, you still want to live with her? She doesn't even look like she wants to be your wife anymore. Besides, your business with the Adelaide family is over, right? Tristan nodded. everything is done as expected."
"That means, your business with Sophia should also be finished. Never forget your words. You yourself promised me you would divorce that woman when your plan is successful."
Tristan was silent for a moment. He certainly hasn't forgotten that one promise. It has been ingrained in his brain for a long time. No matter what happens, he will still marry Aurora no matter what the conditions are.
"I'm tired of hearing those words, Aurora. You know, I've never broken a promise with you. So, you don't need to keep bringing it up like now."
"Good." Aurora nodded immediately. "Then quickly sign the divorce suit file that Sophia sent the other day. Then, arrange as soon as possible when we will get married, Tristan. I'm tired of having to wait for you all the time like now. It's time for me to enjoy what I should have got a long time ago."
Aurora immediately got up, then left Tristan just like that in the reading room. While the man seemed to be silent in thought, he grabbed the file he was holding seconds later. Sign it now, or put it off for a while.
