Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Zamiel woke up and was about to leave when he sensed her fragile arms pull him back to the bed. She had already woken up. He licked his lips, and took one last look at the lady he had devoured the night before.

"You are leaving!" She asked him, with such a tender voice.

"Yes," he replied plainly, trying to ignore the fact that her voice made him feel all icky on the inside.

He didn't like the feeling. Each time he heard her voice, he felt drawn to her. They had barely known each other for twenty four hours and he was already used to her voice.

"Will I ever see you again?" She asked him, trying to get up, but she was still a bit tipsy. So she fell back on the bed, with her hands still clinging to his.

"I don't know, do you want to see me again?" He asked her, patiently waiting for her reply, even when he knew that her answer would be a yes.

I mean, which girl wouldn't want to be beneath him. Not only was he handsome, but he was filthy rich and a good f*cker too, he would have been the perfect prince charming, if he hadn't fallen out of love with the world.

"Yes, please" she begged him and held onto him. She didn't even want to let go of him for a second. For some reason, the way she held him.

The way she spoke, everything just melted his heart, everything made him want to stay back and be with her.

But, he had to fight that urge,he didn't want her to notice the way he was feeling.

"We'll just have to let destiny decide that" Zamiel spoke, and walked towards the door.

"At least, I should know your name, or should I let destiny decide that too?" She was being rhetorical and wanted to climb out of bed, but she was too lazy and tired to do so.

She also wanted to feel him before he would leave her, she didn't know if it would be their last meeting.

At least, if it would be their last meeting, then she should make the best of the moments or so she thought.

"Zamiel '' he replied, and went away, before she could think of any other questions, or at least he tried to leave, but she threw a pillow at him.

"You couldn't even ask of mine" she frowned with her hands firmly resting on her fully exposed twins. He had ripped off her clothes the previous night, so she barely had anything to wear.

"I think I will get to know later on" he scoffed, slowly closing the door behind him. She licked and bit, her lower lip like a sixteen years old girl, who just had her first k*ss.

Zamiel got a text message, and when he opened his phone he immediately knew who it was.

"Please come back home, my night was lonely without you" he read Imogen's text in his head.

He ignored the message, and just moved on, when the lights went off in his phone, he saw his reflection.

"Shit!" He lamented.

He looked like Zamiel again, and that girl must have seen what he actually looked like.

He dipped his hand in his pocket and was so happy he had a face mask to cover his face, there was no need to change how he looked anymore. It won't look good, especially with the CCTV cameras watching.

Zamiel's POV

I met Heaven outside the house, with a blanket wrapped around her. She had slept in the garden bed. Didn't it rain last night?. Did she miss Kayden so much, that she couldn't even sleep in the castle?.

Why didn't she just go sleep inside?

She seemed very cold, as she was shivering. I looked very scared for her sake,I have never seen someone so shaken up before.

I walked over to her, she was soaking wet.

"Heaven! Heaven wake up" I tapped her leg, but she didn't respond. Her body was shaking,so I came closer to her. I placed the back of my palm on her neck, her body was burning up so much. Oh my gosh! I think she is running a high fever.

"Wake up" I called out to her some more, but she remained silent. Was she just a deep sleeper?, or maybe it was her method of avoiding me, because I got mad at her the previous day?.

I placed the back of my palm on her neck again, and she was steaming hot, more than the first time that I touched her. Her entire body felt like it was on fire.

She must have caught a fever by sleeping here last night.

I reached out for my phone to call the doctor, but the damn thing had switched off. So I carried her to the car, and drove her straight to the hospital.

At the hospital

"Sir, your wife is fine. She just passed out because of the cold. She seemed to have been sick before" the doctor told a confused Zamiel.

"Uhrm…you are misunderstanding me here doc…she isn't my wife. She is…she is my cousin's wife. I just brought her here" Zamiel clarified the doctor's thoughts, while the doctor wrote down some drugs for him to get her.

"Well, for now she is okay. She doesn't seem to be in a serious condition" the doctor tried his best to reassure a shaken Zamiel.

Zamiel was scared to the core, he didn't know whether it was because he had become attached to Heaven, or because he was scared of the terror that Kayden will unleash on the castle, when he comes and sees his wife in such a horrible state.

"So I don't have anything to worry about right?" He asked the doctor, just to calm his nerves.

"Hmmn" he gave a simple reply, adjusting his glasses and handing him the sheet of paper.

"But, it would be best if she just stays here for 24 hours, so we can monitor her properly" the doctor suggested and Zamiel just had to agree, not like he was left with much of a choice.

He went over to the room where she was being treated, and sat beside her. Making gentle backward strokes on her hair.

He got some kind of relief, when he saw her eye muscles move, and she slowly began to open her eyes.

"What happened?" She tried to sit up, but he didn't let her do it.

"I should be the one asking you what happened to you. Why did you sleep in the garden last night?" He answered her question with another question.

She swallowed hard, it took her some time but she finally recalled the incident of the previous night.

"Can someone please open the door for me, it is getting really cold out here" she banged on the castle door, but no one responded.

The castle was as quiet as a graveyard, she pondered on what to do, or how to get into the castle but nothing came to mind.

"Please, can you tell your colleagues to open the door for me?" She pleaded with one of the guards that stood outside.

"I'm sorry my princess, but it seems like they have been ordered not to let you in." The guard was then heartbroken, as he told her those words with a straight face.

"By who?" She was surprised, she asked him with teary eyes, hoping for a reply.

But, the guard suddenly became quiet. She didn't even want to waste her time begging him to tell her who gave such orders, she knew it would be someone of high status. If he eventually said anything, he might lose his job or his life.

"That's okay, I'll sleep on the bed. '' Heaven lowered her head, walking slowly towards the garden's bed.

She looked up at the sky, and saw that it was about to rain. She prayed silently that it shouldn't, but she is just human, she cannot control the weather.

The harsh and ruthless cold wind bruised her skin, as she tried to cover herself up with the duvet, in search of any kind of warmth.

She was warm until the rain poured on her.

Her entire body was shivering, and at that moment even her hands had become stiff due to the cold.

After that, she couldn't remember what happened next.

"Heaven?" She heard Zamiel's voice in her head, as he snapped her out of her thoughts almost immediately.

"I just wanted to sleep outside. Plus, I had already fallen asleep when it began to rain" she lied to him.

"And the rain couldn't wake you up? Not the thunderstorms, or the feeling of the water pouring on your skin?" He raised an eyebrow at her, he wasn't just going to fall for it easily.

He scoffed at how horrible she was at lying, she might just be the worst liar he had ever come across.

"Maybe, I had already passed out. I don't know" she shrugged and pressed her lips.

"But…" he wanted to bombard her with more questions, but she rubbed her forehead with her palm.

"I have a headache" she complained, and that shifted his attention from what they were discussing earlier.

"Should I go get the doctor for you?" He asked her.

"For a headache? That's a bit too much. I think I just need to rest" she smiled, as he helped her to adjust her pillow.

She faced the other side of the bed, and slowly blinked her eyes, satisfied that she had successfully managed to escape his questions, at least for the meantime.
