Chapter 72: Chapter 72

Brody's POV

"No, I don't want her to be worried about me." He answered.

"There's someone behind you." He muttered and I turned back to see Karen staring at me. Before I could take a step, she was already in my arms.

I chuckled softly when I finally placed a kiss on her forehead. "I love you so much." She muttered.

I couldn't help but get excited at those words. "I love you more than anything in this world." I replied. I had never felt this way before, I was feeling too excited and happy that I was finally with her.

She looked at Thomas and smiled at him. He took that as a sign to leave and he moved towards the other side of the road. I and Karen began walking on the street as silence engulfed the atmosphere.

"I heard about your father," She said and stopped walking abruptly. "I'm really sad it happened, I didn't know the cops would find out."

I also stopped walking and wrapped my arms around her waist. "You don't have to be sorry, you were never wrong and you loved me unconditionally." I told her with a broad smile on my face.

"Are you going to get him out of jail?" She asked.

"No, I don't think he deserves to be out of jail anytime soon." I answered.

"I was at the hospital earlier today and...."

I interrupted with a frown. Why was she at the hospital? I silently hoped she was feeling well, I didn't want anything bad to happen to her. "What happened? What did the doctor tell you? I'm really scared right now. Please talk to me." I pleaded and softened my voice.

She chuckled softly and pecked me, she wasn't even concerned about my questions. "I'm alright. The doctor gave me one of the best news."

I grinned in reply. "What did he say?"

"Just guess, it won't hurt to guess." She said with a taunting smile.

"I don't know how to guess."

"Alright," she paused and looked at me. "The doctor said I'm pregnant." She informed me and I screamed in joy.

Some people turned their attention to us but I wasn't bothered. I only wanted her and the news was the only thing in my head. I was going to be a father. "I'm excited right now, it's not a dream right?"

"Of course not." She replied.

"I'm going to be a motherfucking father."

She chuckled and nudged me with an elbow. "You're going to be a good dad to our child."

I smiled, I couldn't contain the joy in my heart. I had never been so happy and grateful to God for giving me Karen. Everything started from a contract but I found love. This was my perfect story.

"I love you so much, I'm in love with everything about you." I confessed as tears dropped out of my eyes.

She pulled me in for a hug. "I just don't know what to say, I've never been this happy, I found true love in you."

"It all started from a contract." I murmured.

She chuckled. "Should we tell our story to the whole world?"

It did seem like a good idea but I didn't want that kind of publicity. "No, it will be conveyed in my lyrics."

"Our love story was rough and smooth at the same time."

"It was sweet and romantic." I added with a smile.

"Two lovebirds, huh?" Michael shouted from the car as he parked on the other side of the road.

Thomas walked towards us. "I brought your friends and I'm really sorry I didn't tell you before doing this, I'm really sorry."

I chuckled as I saw Emily, Henry, Michael and Alex behind Karen. She giggled when she saw them and hugged Emily. I was happy to see them as friends again. "So we're throwing a party." Alex screamed.

My eyes widened. "A party?" I asked.

Henry nodded. "Well, we reckoned you would like a party after meeting with the love of your life." He said and paused. "I mean, who wouldn't want a party." He asked with a loud voice as cheers erupted from them.

Looking at Karen's face, she seemed to like the idea. "You want a party, don't you?" I ventured with a light smile. She nodded and winked at me. "Alright, it's party time." I screamed.

Karen's POV

"Hi Karen, I've missed you a lot." Helen said as she dropped her luggage on the floor.

"How was your flight?" I inquired with a light smile on my face that didn't really portray my expression in a good manner.

"I'm really angry with you, you left the house without telling me you wouldn't be coming back because of your movie project."

"I'm really sorry, you were sleeping when I walked into the room and I didn't want to wake you up."

I smiled at her. "I understand, I've missed you." I replied.

She chuckled as Diego came to meet her. "Mom, there's going to be a wonderful surprise soon." He told her.

She raised an eyebrow. "Really, I can't wait," she muttered and turned to face me. "I'll see the other guests, the hall is getting filled up with guests. Mom should be here any minute from now." She added and left quickly.

"Having fun?" Thomas asked, coming from behind me.

I chuckled. "Yeah, a little," I answered. "Helen's back, I hope you can make things right now."

His face brightened up with a broad smile. "I plan on doing that." He replied and climbed the stairs.

Michael jumped in front of me and I laughed. He was really some kind of guy, I almost hated him because he tried to rape me but I discovered that he was nice and really cool. He could be a jerk too sometimes and he could be very annoying and crazy. "The party's just starting, you should have fun." He encouraged me.

"I'm certainly working on that," I replied with a smile as Brody joined us. "Hi Brody, you've been quite busy."

He nodded. "Yeah, I have an announcement right now that I want the both of us to make."

I raised my eyebrows in surprise and narrowed my eyes at him. "An announcement?"

"Yeah, Thomas plans to ask Helen to marry him and we have to make that announcement." He whispered slowly and took me to the middle of the party.

I signaled the DJ to stop the music and he did, Brody took a mic from the MC and cleared his throat before he began the announcement.

Everyone was looking at us and for the first time in my life, I didn't even feel shy at all. Yes, I didn't feel insecure or shy even as the wealthy guests looked at me. "Things have been really rough these days but our family managed to scale through all these." He muttered and I took the mic from him.

"We've managed to defeat all our insecurities and stand out to be one of the best. We didn't know that things would have a happy ending but here we are now...."

Brody interrupted with a smile. "We're scaling through everything and the sky's our limit," He added.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Thomas and Helen." I introduced them as the crowd cheered.

Thomas immediately went down on knees as soon as the light was focused on them. Even though he was not using a mic, his voice was audible. "Helen, I know we've been through a lot but you're the right woman for me, I want to be able to have a family and take care of you and my son," he said and the crowd cheered again. "Helen, will you marry me again?"

It must have felt like a dream come true for Helen and I appreciated their love. "Yes, I'll marry you." She suddenly screamed and everyone became excited.

She stole a glance at me and giggled excitedly. I was really happy for her. She took a mic from Brody and looked at Thomas in the eye.

She seemed to use the opportunity to fall in love with him more. "Thanks for everything you've done for me. I'm happy that I have finally accepted you as my husband and the father of my son." She said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

The two of them hugged each other and Brody finally turned to me. He suddenly cleared his throat to make another announcement, I wasn't informed of this. "I just want everyone to know that I and Karen are in love with each other," he muttered as he held my hands.

"I love you, Brody." I whispered to him.

"I love you more, baby." He whispered back.

He had never been so romantic before, I wondered what had changed. He took a flower out of his pocket and gave it to me. I blushed as I collected it from him. "I'm going to make this short and simple because of the love I have for you," he said and went down on his knees.

No, he was not going to propose?

Oh my God! He's bringing out something from his pocket. Is that a small box?

He took the ring and looked at me with sincerity in his eyes. "Karen, will you marry me again? I don't want our marriage to be a mistake."

This was really a happy ending, I didn't want the moment to end. How could I reject him? I was deeply in love with him.

"Yes, I'm definitely going to marry you." I screamed.
