Chapter 25: Chapter 25
After midnight, Melvin left Renata's apartment. His lover actually asked him to stay until morning, but Melvin said that he had to go back to work early tomorrow morning.
"Honey, I still miss you. What's the hurry?" asked Renata sullenly. Her body, which was only wrapped in a thin towel, hugged Melvin from behind. Both hands were wrapped around Melvin's waist as if he didn't want to let go.
"Don't worry, babe. I'll be here again tomorrow. I don't want to rush, I have an early meeting tomorrow morning. If I stay here tomorrow I'll be late."
Melvin's reasoning was acceptable to Renata. When it comes to work, she certainly can't fight it. Melvin's job and wealth were of course the main reasons why Renata wanted to get him.
"Promise, come here again tomorrow. I always miss you and it feels lonely when you're not here," said Renata while loosening her embrace. Melvin turned around and stood opposite Renata.
Melvin gently kissed the top of Renata's head. He loved that woman very much. Everything about her was like a magnet that always pulled him back. Again and again. "I'll let you know. You know, I always need you too," Melvin whispered in Renata's ear.
Melvin leaves Renata's apartment with a wave of her hand from behind the door. After Melvin's back disappeared at the end of the corridor, Renata went back into her room and locked it.
Renata actually let go of Melvin with a little disappointment. Jealousy rose again in her heart. Melvin had always said that she was the only woman in his heart, but who could deny the fact that Melvin was now Danas' husband?
No matter how much Melvin promised and adored her, she was still next to Melvin right now in the form of another woman. That woman was the one who was officially recognized as Danas' wife.
" I have to snatch Melvin away from Danas no matter what. They must go their separate ways. Melvin is my only possession. I'm not willing to share him with another woman," Renata muttered fiercely.
She then threw herself onto her messy bed, the file playing with Melvin. Renata closed her eyes and slept exhausted.
Melvin, meanwhile, came out of Renata's apartment with various feelings. He was satisfied every time he was with Renata but the satisfaction was only momentary, as if there was something else he kept hunting for but he didn't know what it was.
Arriving at his house, Melvin saw that the building was already dark. Most of the lights were turned off and there were only a few dim lights in front of the garage and porch. The large house looked deserted, indicating that all the residents were asleep.
Melvin entered slowly on half tiptoe. He even opened the door very carefully. Melvin always brought his own spare key so that he wouldn't have to wake the people of the house to open the door if he came home late.
Even though it was his own house he didn't want to cause a scene. Melvin liked a quiet atmosphere away from the noise. The living room was dark. Melvin walked towards his own room.
As he passed the room where Danas was, Melvin paused. He saw that the door to Danas' room wasn't closed properly.
"Ah, how careless of her. Why is the door to her room left unlocked like this. What if some thief or criminal comes in? Huh!"
Melvin then peeked into the room through the crack in the door. On the bed, he saw Danas lying curled up. Her breathing rose and fell regularly. She looked exhausted.
"She must be asleep," Melvin muttered as he quietly closed the door to Danas' room. Melvin thought about telling Danas to close the door tightly at night and go to bed.
What was actually happening was that Danas had deliberately opened the door slightly so that he could hear the knock on the door when Melvin came home. He was afraid that he would be blamed for not opening the door for Melvin.
Melvin then stepped into his own room. His body felt very tired and begged him to rest immediately.
Melvin's room was of course the main room in the mansion. It was spacious and had all the amenities of a hotel. It was also always neat, clean and very comfortable.
Melvin entered his room and turned on the room light. Melvin chose to turn on the lamp that shone softly. He placed his briefcase on the table.
"I'm so tired today, I want to sleep but I'm exhausted," Melvin muttered. The man glanced around him. As usual, he found his toiletries neatly arranged on the table near the bathroom and a set of nightgowns on the bed.
Melvin then took off his clothes that he had been wearing all day. He intended to take a bath and soak for a while before going to bed. "It's better to wash my body first before going to bed. It feels so sticky," Melvin thought again.
While at Renata's apartment, Melvin didn't have time to take a shower, so he chose to take a shower at his own home. Melvin's hand then reached for the lighter and lit the aroma therapy candle. The soothing scent of lavender flowers soon filled his room.
Melvin stepped into the bathtub filled with warm water with abundant scented foam. He wanted to cleanse his body while soaking to feel relaxed.
Melvin closed his eyes as the warm water and scent enveloped his entire body. However, all that comfort couldn't erase the small problem he felt was now bothering him.
Renata's repeated words could not be forgotten by Melvin. Renata wanted him to divorce Danas and throw her out of his life.
"Divorce Danas? Hmm, later first. I'm not satisfied making her whacky yet. Why hurry?" muttered Melvin with a strange smile.
"Sorry, Renata. I can't comply with your request this time. I have an unfinished grudge. As long as I'm not satisfied with making Danas suffer, I won't let her go."
Melvin washed his body while smiling wickedly. He felt that he was in charge, that he could even determine and hold the fate of a woman like Danas.
"Don't expect your life to be calm anymore, Danas. You may be my wife, but you're also my prisoner. Yes, a prisoner who must bow the knee and submit to me. Completely."
Satisfied with his bath and shower, Melvin got up from the bathtub and grabbed his towel. He then quickly changed his uniform and went to bed.
The night air was getting colder, especially since the air conditioner in Melvin's room was set to a fairly cold temperature. Melvin had to get up again from the bed and grabbed the remote control on the nightstand. He set the room temperature to a warmer temperature.
Melvin then lay back down. His mind was still spinning, between Renata and Danas. One was his lover and the other was his enemy. "Of course I need both of them, to satisfy my ego. Because I can do it."
