Chapter 19: Chapter 19
"Shut up, bitch!" snapped Renata. "Don't put on that innocent face of yours. It's disgusting what you're doing." The slapping and swearing invited several people to witness what was happening between them.
Danas touched the cheek that Renata had just slapped, and it stung. Renata had become so hateful towards Danas, that even she herself was no longer interested in Melvin.
"You've taken what should be mine," Renata said angrily. She wanted to slap Danas once more but stopped, so many people saw what they were doing.
"I didn't take it from you, she forced me into marriage," Danas defended. What she said was true, she wasn't lying. It was Melvin who came and threatened her parents. However, it was useless that the woman before him would not accept what she said even if it was the truth.
"Force? Do you think Melvin would force you to marry him? You must have seduced him," Renata accused. "Why don't you just say so? You seduced my girlfriend, didn't you?" Renata cornered Danas. "Just tell me, the truth!"
"I didn't even know she was your girlfriend, Ren." Danas tried to defend himself.
Sure enough, Renata didn't believe what Danas said. It was useless for her to defend herself. Her chest felt tight, making her let out a long breath.
"Don't you think I'll just give up? I'll take him away from you, remember that. Melvin is only mine," Renata said firmly and then left Danas who was stunned. Before she could leave Danas' presence, she threatened him.
Without a fight, she could only stare at Renata's back who began to move away. Danas did not even get an explanation but a threat. Only a long sigh calmed Danas' feelings a little. She chose to go home immediately.
In another place.
The sound of a woman's footsteps wearing high heels swaying into an elevator made several people who were in the elevator choose to leave because of her presence.
Renata, everyone will choose to stay away, due to her attitude.
Brak!
Melvin, who was inside the office taking care of some documents with Rangga, was startled by the sound of a very strong banging on the door, revealing Renata who was frowning.
Melvin frowns when he sees his lover who only glanced at him briefly then chose to sit with her arms crossed in front of her chest. His face stared intensely at the front.
"What's wrong?" asked Melvin, confused by Renata's attitude. There was no answer from Renata, making the man could only let out a long sigh while getting up from the chair and approaching.
"If something makes you angry, tell me. Let me take care of it for you," Melvin said trying to restore the idol's mood.
Rangga, who was there, chose to leave to give himself some privacy. He could understand the eyes of the employees who saw him.
Renata saw that Melvin's assistant had left and then looked at Melvin.
"Are you going to take care of it for me?" asked Renata looking sharply at Melvin.
"Yes. I will," Melvin replied loudly. "Whatever it is, I'll take care of it," he added. He didn't want anyone to make his girlfriend angry.
"Who else if not that bitch, Danas. She's making me angry!"
Melvin, who heard that, frowned. "What did that woman do? Did she do something to you?" asked Melvin with a bit of emphasis.
Seeing Melvin's face like that made Renata have an idea. "She insulted me in front of many people on campus," Renata lied. "She said that I was your mistress," she added with a sad face.
Hearing Renata's story, Melvin got emotional. He never thought that Danas would do that. However, it was actually he who was being lied to.
"Danas..."
"Why don't you just divorce her?" asked Renata, glaring at Melvin.
"No!" Melvin refused in a loud voice, making Renata surprised. Even more surprised, Melvin didn't want to divorce Danas.
"Why? Do you like her? Didn't you say you'd take care of it for me? Are you lying to me, Melvin?" Renata demanded Melvin's words to her but Melvin couldn't let go of Danas.
"Ren, please. Don't make me feel guilty like this. I don't like her," Melvin insisted.
"If you don't like her, why don't you just divorce her and marry me? By not divorcing her, it means you like her." Renata's chest rose an octave.
Renata again demanded that Melvin divorce Danas.
"Stop Ren. Let's not discuss this anymore. The reason why I married him was none other than you, did you forget that? huh?!" Melvin didn't want to be accused and being put on the spot made him furious. "You were the one who left on our wedding day. Did you forget? If you hadn't left, I wouldn't have married her!" said Melvin, causing Renata to fall silent.
It was Renata's fault that Melvin married Danas.
"And another reason, I wanted him to suffer for killing Amaira. I want to make my sister's killer suffer for the rest of her life," Melvin added.
Renata was silent, the woman no longer dared to interrupt Melvin's words. The look in the eyes of the man in front of her instantly terrified her. There wasn't a hint of joking that she saw, there was only seriousness there.
Seeing Renata's change made Melvin change his face. He looked sadly at his lover.
Renata immediately cried, even though she didn't want to cry. However, the thing she often did was to make Melvin always feel guilty for her.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you," Melvin said and hugged Renata.
She was silent, not responding to what Melvin said. Her mind was filled with the possibilities that would happen to her if the secret she had been hiding was discovered by Melvin. Would he treat her the way Melvin treated Danas? Or even more than that.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you." Melvin tried to calm Renata down.
Renata cried for a few minutes, acting out in front of Melvin after it stopped. A trick she always did when Melvin was angry. She knew that Melvin would feel guilty.
"Don't cry anymore, I can't watch you cry."
"What about that woman? W-what are you going to do?" asked Renata asking about Danas.
Melvin sighed harshly, "I'll teach her a lesson so she won't be rude to you anymore," said Melvin while rubbing Renata's hair trying to calm the woman down. "He must be taught a lesson," Melvin added.
What Renata complained about made Danas' image with Melvin even worse. Thinking more and more about what Danas did to Renata made Melvin want to torture the woman.
Renata smiled triumphantly at what Melvin said to her.
"Right, you're going to teach that woman a lesson?" asked Renata.
"Yes. I'll make her regret it," said Melvin.
Renata published a smile. "Rasain you, Danas. You think you can beat me." Renata monologued.
