Chapter 196: Chapter 196

Lucien did not dare to attempt any form or kind of intimacy with Brianna. Because the moment she said she was still sore, Lucien made a mental note to make her less discomfort. Besides, the way she walked with slight difficulty as she marched away from Lucien, made the man wince as if he was feeling more agony for her than Brianna, herself.

The man carefully and dotingly carried the woman to the dining table and with so much care, Lucien helped Brianna get seated, comfortable, and he even insist to feed her.

“Please, let me do this,” Lucien begged Brianna when she tried to stop the man from expressing how he was so grateful, joyful, and regretful at the same time, that the woman he had been dreaming to be his lifetime companion as a spouse, was somehow suffering an aftermath of what they gloriously shared the previous night.

“I know this won’t make up for anything I have caused you to feel such pain, but I swear, if there were any ways to bear even the tiniest discomfort you are having right now, I will do anything to remove them from you and be mine instead…” Lucien softly stated as he traced a few strands of Brianna’s hair that had flown to her face and neatly clipped them behind her left ear. “I feel like I have been too selfish. I did not consider how things would be when the next day comes. I am so sorry, babe…”

Brianna frowned. She could not clearly define if she should agree or not, with everything this man in front of her was blabbering about. He was annoyingly cheesy but Brianna could feel some strange feeling like she was being tickled inside her heart.

As a person who would usually find rationality in almost everything she does or even those that she merely considers giving her thoughts about, Brianna was finding Lucien’s words to be dramatic and somehow superficial. But she was also aware that this man had mostly, if not at all times, expressed his affections towards her. His words right now may sound so excessively sentimental, but knowing this man for quite some time now, it was already considered to say it was Lucien’s nature.

She finds it unbelievably annoying but equally amusing, all at the same time!

“Ahhhhhh…” Lucien brought a bite-size of food closer to Brianna’s mouth while he also motioned his face as if telling Brianna to do as he did.

Brianna frowned as she stared at the man while slowly chewing the cut of french toast bread Lucien had diligently prepared, served, and also fed her. But she could not refuse, it felt like she would be rude if she did, and worried Lucien would somehow feel disappointed or hurt. She groaned and uttered the man’s name with inexplicable emotions wrapped around them.

“Lucien Michealson…”

“I know you’re hungry, so hungry you might even think my cooking is good, so come on…” Lucien humorously stated, grinning from ear to ear.

What Lucien said made Brianna give up. She admitted to herself that this man will never fail to win over her if his way to capture her is as silly as how he would ever be in her eyes. She tried to do the same thing she could see and feel Lucien warrs doing to and for her. With an over-exaggeration of how it felt for her.

“Ahhhhh…” Brianna sliced a tiny bite of the same bread she was eating and fed Lucien with an over-stretched smile showing on her face.

She could tell, even without looking into a mirror, that her face would have looked silly, Brianna would even bet her head to claim that she would look frustratingly annoying in the man’s eyes, and hopefully, Lucien would realize how silly he looked in Brianna’s eyes with all he was doing. But to Brianna’s astonishment, instead of laughing at her, Lucien accepted her offered bite of food, then he leaned both his elbows on the table, cupped his jaws with both hands, and stared at Brianna dreamily.

“Owww, come on!” Brianna exclaimed.

She sighed loudly and placed the cutleries on the table then grabbed the bread with bare hands and gobbled it down like she was in a hurry. Then she did the same for Lucien.

But the man did not seem to be bothered at all!

Lucien chuckled at how cute Brianna looked in his eyes with her bulged cheeks as she chew the food inside her mouth furiously. He wanted to speak and say she looked like a cute chipmunk, but before he could even swallow the chewed food in his mouth, Brianna added bacon, then an egg, and another big slice of bread.

Lucien could feel his cheeks were puffed out with all the contents of food Brianna had stuck into his mouth, but he did not reject or decline every offer of food she made.

“Hummmm mmmummmumm muum…”

Lucien sounded humming. He was trying to say ‘we both look like chipmunks already, see?’ but as his mouth was stuffed, his words couldn’t even form anything other than gibberish sounds.

Brianna did not rush to chew her food and swallow, she ate at her normal speed, which is like she was still in training. She may felt like she did not rush, but she still managed to clear her throat before Lucien even got halfway chewing his food. It was not just the speed, it was also the amount he had to grind with his teeth that slowed Lucien down.

“Were you trying to say anything?” Brianna asked, then she filled her mouth and chomped her food again.

This time it was no longer because Brianna was annoyed at Lucien that she was eager to keep herself busy eating, but rather, the need to fill her empty stomach was reminded and the esurient demanded her to comply. She ate bite after bite, one kind after another. Brianna did not miss eating every food Lucien presented on the table.

Lucien who thought about telling Brianna what he failed to tell her clearly earlier, seemed to forget everything he was about to say and ended up watching his lovely Anna as she deliciously ate everything apart from what she gave him to eat in between her bites.

“I am glad they seemed edible to you as well,” Lucien gleefully but softly said. He was also concerned Brianna would feel provoked and be annoyed at him if he was not careful with his words. “I am confident but I am grateful you still find them fit to eat.”

Brianna nodded and shrugged her shoulders.

“They weren’t bad. But the judgment on your cooking skill shouldn’t be done with I am this much famished,” Brianna answered honestly. “Let’s get changed and head out, we have a lot of things to get done.”
