Chapter 172: Chapter 172
Lucien and Brianna's backup team came in before Terrence Clayton’s men could ever react, recovering from being shocked at what was happening right before their eyes. They only had one way to get in and out of the basement, so they cautiously walked down the stairs, and with every one of Terrence’s men focused on watching Brianna swiftly moving around to immobilize their boss, they did not notice the fully armed men that came in to rescue their captives.
Even Donrey Cox!
He did not know how the rescue would take place. He did not expect the woman to be tougher than Donrey had already thought about her. He had even prepared his heart and mind to fail and made peace with death. But his astonishment started when the woman he made a deal with suddenly moved like a bouncing ball from where she stood to the wall and jumped like a Leopard to grab its prey.
Terrence, who was like a ferocious beast in their eyes and understanding, was defeated so effortlessly by a woman. Donrey was inwardly rejoicing. But not every one of Terrence’s men was like Donrey. Some of them were loyal to the death.
A man stealthily moved to pull the trigger of the weapon he already had in his hand when Blake saw Brianna’s eyes giving signals to him silently.
A swiss sound was heard, and the man closest to Brianna’s position dropped to the ground. The loud thud sound of the man falling was like a wake-up call for the other men of Terrence Clayton’s team. Another man also rolled on the ground, with his weapon already in his hand. Unaware of where or who took the shot, he hid behind the furniture closest to his spot and fired a shot in Brianna’s direction. But before he could aim carefully not to hit his boss instead of the woman, Lucien shot the man right in his temple.
Lucien’s spot was right across the man where he took position to take a shot. The spot was perfect to hide himself from Brianna upfront and the backup team behind, but equally perfectly vulnerable for Lucien. The man must not have expected their captives to have weapons as he could not see Brianna’s hand with a gun pointing at Terrence, his boss.
“Bang!”
Along with the loud sound of a gunshot from Lucien’s direction, the backup team rushed forward to capture the other men, including Donrey Cox. They seized everyone while two men on the ground were bleeding, one was dead, and the other was still grunting in pain.
Brianna and Lucien’s weapons did not have suppressors as they had to hide them. They had to choose the smallest size of guns to keep them unnoticed by their captors.
Lucien did not want to use the gun as much as possible, or at least he did not want to kill a man in the process, but when he saw the guy aiming at Anna, his reflexes moved faster than his brain to process the situation and shoot somewhere else less fatal.
The fear of his Anna getting hurt made Lucien aim for the most fatal shot he could take and never miss or waste his bullet.
Brianna did not fear being shot, she had Terrence Clayton covering her from the shooter, but she was amused at how Lucien took the man down in one shot at an astounding speed as well.
Celebrating their victory, she joined Lucien firing her arm to shoot at Terrence Clayton’s right knee from behind.
“You don’t deserve to live, but death by a bullet is too lame for you to pay for all your evil deeds,” Brianna let her arm holding Terrence by his neck go and watched the man drop to the ground.
“Bang!”
Another gunshot was heard, followed by a loud shriek and curses of pain from a man.
“This hand never knows when to accept defeat, does it?” Brianna asked with thick mockery in her voice. Then she squatted down to look down on Terrence.
Terrence’s right hand was about to reach for his hidden ankle gun as he dropped to the ground, but it did not escape Brianna’s keenly observing eyes, so she fired a shot to the center of its wrist.
“I even wonder if you would recognize me or whom I resemble,” Brianna grabbed his chin to look straight at her.
“Are you one of those pathetic ones who cannot accept rejection or defeat?” Terrence sneered back at Brianna, wincing in pain and immensely angered.
Brianna scoffed.
“Rejection? Did you ever see me approaching you for something I need from you? I am here to collect, but I am not after a quick payment. You made me live without my family beside me. Now you are going to feel not totally the same but somehow similar to what I have been through. You will live a day hoping for death to come sooner because living is more dreadful than hell itself! You will live every day with pain and suffering, regretting how messed up you have lived life oppressing, suppressing, and using people for your advantage and pleasure. Your every ugly and stinking deed will be made known to the public. Every traceable and recognizable victim will be dug up, and their families will be informed to bring you to justice. Whatever you have built as your pedestal will be brought down without mercy. Let’s see if your greed will save you or if it can even accompany you on your days of doom.”
Brianna was about to stand up when she heard Terrence speak again.
“You look exactly like someone I played with in my bed during my youthful days. Too bad I am this old and not as vibrant as I was when I met you whore of a mother,” Terrence tried to thumb his nose at the woman.
He could not recognize this person or whoever she may resemble, but he hated the fact that a woman defeated him this way. Among all his enemies, he had prepared for death or defeated done with pride and through war, bullets raining, or anything with an expression of masculinity, but what happened or what is happening right now is a great insult to his dignity as a man, respected and feared. So he tried to provoke Brianna with insulting words to make her pull the trigger and end his shame.
But Brianna caught that hope to be dead too soon in Terrence's eyes. She aimed her gun and fired it again.
“Bang!”
Terrence smiled, looking at the woman’s gun aiming right into him. It wasn’t too long when he heard the gunshot. He was inwardly rejoicing, welcoming death in his embrace. But he opened his eyes as he felt a sharp kick on his wounded knee.
“Terrence Clayton, I am sure you have never seen my mother unless you took the shot that killed her. But nice try provoking me. It’s a shame I have good tolerance and patience. I don’t bite back when dogs bite me.”
Terrence was startled to realize that she had just shot him in the ear. He wondered if she just missed or if her shot was intentionally done to shoot him not in the head but in his ear. Her move was too quick to estimate and take that shot precisely. Unless she was trained to do such things.
“Are you…?” he asked with astonishment.
“I don’t think you need to know,” Brianna scornfully declared, walking away from Terrence.
“Make sure he doesn’t die or kill himself,” Brianna commanded, not speaking to anyone, in particular, making her command given to everyone around.
Lucien embraced her tightly as soon as he saw her done talking.
And with everyone around busy wrapping things up, Lucien did not care about anything. He kissed Brianna longingly. Brianna did not resist Lucien’s kisses. She kissed him back as she was inwardly rejoicing.
Blake made a wordless signal to all their men to hurry and exit the basement to give the two their privacy. But as he had his camera on the whole time, the people behind the screen monitor had seen everything that had happened and also had a glimpse of Lucien embracing Brianna, but they did not see the two being intimate, kissing like they were the only people in the world. E
Well, everyone from the rescue and backup team could not dare look at the two bosses as they sealed their lips with fiery kisses, so their cameras did not capture much.
“Let’s go!” Brianna broke their embrace and pulled Lucien out of the basement. “I don’t wanna do this here.”
Lucien smiled like he had won the greatest battle in history. He laughed victoriously as his wild imaginations were like feathers that tickled him beyond compare.
“You’re always the Boss, honey!” Lucien replied with a hearty chuckle.
“I just hope you last more than twenty minutes,” Brianna squinted her eyes at Lucien playfully. “I am beginning to enjoy this, and I think I want more and more,” she added.
