Abeer was enjoying the tasty meal made by Khushi and praising her for her cooking skill. On which Khushi thanked his with her gesture.
"You know since my childhood I just loved cooking. But in my starting days, I actually tortured my father with my new experimental dishes but he never told me to stop experimenting with new dishes and always encouraged me to explore more and more. Even today, I remembered the expression of his face when I let him taste my vegetable curry in which I used some special spices mixture which turned it into bitterly taste but then also he ate it without any complaint with a proper smile on his face. I guess that's the reason daughters felt more connected to her father as compared to her mother.", Khushi stated with moistening eyes remembering her childhood days spent with her father.
"So Why are you living alone here? I mean why don't you live with them? Where is he? ", Abeer asked out of curiosity.
Abeer's question made Khushi broke her chain of thoughts and let her out of her thinking world making her silent for a moment.
"Did I ask something wrong? If you're not comfortable in answering then it's okay, I can understand.", Abeer replied in an assuring way.
"He is in India and I am here alone and there is a long story behind it.", Khushi sighed, pouring water in her glass from the jug.
"I don't know why but it seems like she is hiding something in her heart and this burden did not let her enjoy her life in a way that she wants.", Abeer thought in his mind.
"Here, your medicines and a glass of water. After finishing your dinner don't forget to take them. I'm going to clean the kitchen and also the plates so it would take some time. You finish your dinner, take your medicines and go back to take some rest without making any excuses. ", Khushi instructed Abeer like a mother who used to command her ill son like that.
" Yes boss, as you say. By the way won't you get late for your job tomorrow? ", Abeer questioned observing the time at the wall clock.
" Umm.. He did not I'm searching for new job and If he would let him know then he must panick and start assuming himself as a burden on my shoulder so I won't take the chance of depressing him again after all the efforts he took for me hours ago by that cute gesture of saying sorry I would never forget that in my life. But I have to make some excuse otherwise he would doubt on me. ", Khushi was busy thinking all the pros and cons in her mind while Abeer was busy staring at her for an answer from her side.
"Actually there was some construction work going on there so we won't able to work there until further notice so for few days I'm not going for my job.", Khushi announced hesitantly.
"Oh no! If she will be going to stay here from tomorrow onwards then how will I talk with Luca on call about any further updates. Moreover, how Am I going to talk with Scarlett in her presence? Seems like I am in a big trouble.", Abeer gulped talking to himself in his mind.
Abeer's silence made Khushi doubt on him.
" Any problem, Mr. Stranger? Seems like you don't like my idea of staying here. ", Khushi said collecting the plates from the table.
" No.. No.. No problem.. It's your house. Why would I have any problem with that?", Abeer stuttering voice made Khushi doubts his answer.
The moment Khushi went away with the dishes towards the kitchen area, Abeer slowly stood up from his seat and looked towards her direction whether she was going to come back or not!
Once he was assured that she was busy working in the kitchen he slowly moved towards the bookshelf area to took out the mobile phone and after taking it out safely he went straight towards the bedroom and locked his door.
Abeer checked his mobile notifications in which he saw Luca's messages so he called him instantly.
Luca picked up the call in one ringing and greeted his boss like always.
"Yes, Luca any information about my accident?", Abeer whispered slowly so that Khushi would not listen to their talking.
"Yes Boss... Infact My whole team was investigating the case and we got a very big clue. The orange juice you were served that day in breakfast was heavily dose with a drug so that your mind would stop understanding anything related to your surrounding and you would not be in your senses anymore and that people took advantage of your situation ending up your life in that plan. So could you please remind that accident day and name the person who had served you that adulterated juice?", Luca asked in his deep voice.
" Umm.. That day.. Frankly speaking the injuries in my head and the pain did not let me put any type of pressure on my mind but I'll try to remember each and everything properly just give me sometime and I'll answer your questions more easily. Till then please have an eye on every one who is working for me and yes about my family members. Just kindly gather about their well being to me tomorrow. As for now, I'm going to sleep due to my heavy doses of medication.
"Okay boss.. Don't worry I'll inform about your family members tomorrow.", Luca replied and cut the call.
Abeer was lying on the bed trying to remember what exactly had happened that day when he was interrupted in his thoughts by a call from Scarlett and to his surprise he picked it up immediately like he was waiting for this from hours.
"Hello Bf... What's up? Did my plan work?", Scarlett whispered in her sweet voice.
"I told you just message me and I'll call back you in return if I am free but inspite of my warning you directly call me, Munchkin.", Abeer teased Scarlett.
"Umm... I was missing my bf badly and a little bit scared too so I thought why to be scared alone? Why not you also joined me?", Scarlett questioned Abeer innocently.
"You naughty girl, I must say you're very smart and yes thank you because your plan actually worked and all the credit goes to your tiny brain.", Abeer whispered in his sleepy voice.
"It feels like my bf is really tired after his work and as a good gf I should let him sleep and make him rest properly. We will talk tomorrow now. Okay?", Scarlett asked listening Abeer's yawning from other side.
"Thank you Munchkin for understanding me so well and yes you also go to sleep. Good girls don't stay awake too late. So you also go to sleep now. Good night princess, sweet dreams.", Abeer wished her.
"Good night, have my dreams.", Scarlett giggled and cut the call.
"Oh my god! Who would say she is just a small kid? The way she talked and the way her tiny brain works she is actually a matured girl in a baby body.", Abeer mumbled and switch off the lights to get some sleep and relax his body.
