Chapter 57: Chapter 57

“Why are you seeing me these late?” asked Natty.

“Let’s play basketball together...” Take Drake with his thin smile.

“Basketball? These nights? I don’t think so, you just play by yourself...” Replied Natty, who was a little lazy and wanted to run back into her house. But Drake held her hand.

“Come on, keep me practicing. It’s not fun to play alone...” Drake replied he persuaded Natty to accompany him.

Natty wants to go back to her room, but seeing how Drake asks her to come into play makes Natty unable to resist anymore. With half forced Natty follows Drake to a public basketball court where Drake trains alone.

By bringing his basketball, Drake started the game. But he didn’t mean it in play. Even often Drake lets Natty hold the ball and score. Then Drake would pretend to be disappointed, but he smiled broadly, and indeed his eyes twinkle as if he were pleased.

Drake thinks he’s already tricked Natty. But Natty also realized that from the beginning. Natty may have known Drake or Drake very well that he wasn’t good at lying until he made it all clear. But Natty still allowed herself to play in Drake’s game because she herself also felt entertained. On a normal night, she’s drowning in the agony of longing, now she’s filled with the pleasure of playing basketball with a friend who can be very annoying but is the one who understands it the most.

The game ended after Natty scored 5 points and Drake didn’t score any points. With sweat pouring down their faces and breaths stung, they sat on the edge of the field. Drake took two bottles of mineral water from his bag and gave one of them to Natty. They also drink to reduce their thirst and fatigue after playing basketball.

“Honestly, you asked me to play basketball with you because you wanted to cheer me up, right?” said Natty with her thin smile.

“Yes, because I’ve been there, too. The worst moment of heartbreak is at night because you remember the past, regret something, and miss the person in your heart. Every night I try not to think about it, but it keeps coming to my mind. The only thing I can do to get through that is to get away with playing basketball. That’s why I’m taking you to play... said Drake.

“Thank you, this is enough to cheer me up...” Natty replied, and then she came back for a drink.

‘The person who understands you the most is the one who’s been through the same thing with you. They come their own way, sometimes they don’t entertain you, but you can be amused by whatever they do. If you have someone like that, they never let go because it’s difficult to find someone who understands you.’
