Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Sometimes it is effortless to say a word, but there are times when a word becomes very difficult to convey. When the heart feels confident, but still seems something is until it holds like we are stuck behind a door that cannot be opened.

Sometimes the sunshine, the wind that blows, the waves on the shore of the dove that stand in the middle of the garden make me think. But what makes me think the most is you. Why are your eyes so beautiful that I can't stand staring at them? Why is your voice so melodious beyond love songs with lovely melodies that people ever listen to? How can you consistently drive me to look forward to your presence, even to force me to remember the sound of your footsteps?

There are many questions that are stored in my mind and I cannot find the answer. I crave to ask you all of them, one by one, all of them. Until I can ask all these questions, I need you to stay by my side. If this is greed, then just this time I want to be selfish. Just this once, I wish to be greedy and wish for happiness ... because I need you to be happy.

The orange sunlight penetrated the window and hit Ruby's face who was lying unconscious on his bed. It has been 3 hours since Ruby was taken to the hospital and examined by a doctor, but Ruby hasn't opened her eyes yet. Even though much time has passed, Alex has remained faithful to sit beside Ruby. His eyes didn't stop staring at Ruby's beautiful face.

From the look in his eyes, there was worry and hope. Even yet he looks cool on the outside, he cares about Ruby. Even Alex did something he had never done before. Alex, who puts his school grades first, now sits waiting for Ruby to regain consciousness and skip school.

He realized that he would get into trouble if he skipped school too often, but Alex couldn't if he had to let Ruby lie alone in an icy, empty room. Alex knows what it feels like to wake up from sleep and then sit staring at a blank white wall. He vividly remembers how cold the tile floor he was stepping on while watching the little kids playing football from behind the window. He knew what it was like, so he couldn't leave Ruby alone. Maybe it's just an excuse because the one who doesn't want to feel lonely is Alex himself. He is the one who suffers the most lonely when Ruby is not around him.

A cell phone ringing stopped Alex, who was immersed in delusions while staring at Ruby's beautiful face. Alex also grabbed his cellphone was in the front pocket of his pants, but Alex fell silent as he stared at the cellphone screen he was holding when his father's name was engraved on his cellphone screen.

Alex looked so scared that he was speechless and didn't know what to do. Alex knew his father would scold him for skipping school. Alex also sought to calm himself down, he still tried to sigh up with his hanger unless he was a child because he had so much to do.

“A-Alex ...” said Ruby in a hoarse and weak voice

Alex turned off his cellphone and Alex's attention was turned to Ruby, who had just woken up. Alex took Ruby's hand and stared at him. Alex smiled because he felt that Ruby had regained consciousness and the worries he held faded.

“Are you feeling better? What happened until you passed out like this? “ Asked Alex in a soft, warm tone.

“This is a normal thing ... what time is it now?” Ruby asked while holding her head, which still got a little dizzy.

“It's 11.30, you've been unconscious for 3 hours.” Said Alex while lowering his views when he answered that.

Alex, who could not hide his worries, could only avert his gaze and direct his gaze to Ruby's hand that he was holding. Alex couldn't look Ruby in the eye because he was afraid that Ruby would realize his feelings when their eyes met because eyes are a window to feelings.

“Is it 11.30 pm already? Hey! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in school now, why are you here?!” said Ruby.

Alex just smiled faintly, then stroked Ruby's head gently. His clear eyes shone, his gaze became warm when he stared at Ruby's pale face. The air temperature felt different. There was something sincere and sweet in the air when their eyes met. The sound of a heart-pounding sounded noisy and filled the silence between them.

“To accompany you today is more important than school. Besides, nothing will change even if I don't go to school even once a week. “ Replied Alex with a smile.

“Hear yourself, is it self-confidence or arrogance?!” replied Ruby jokingly

They laughed together. When together they forget all the burdens were on their shoulders. The two characters that always feel lonely fill each other when they are close. Erasing all the lines of solitude engraved on their hearts. They enjoyed their company until between them seemed to stop. The breeze that blew against the window blinds, Alex and Ruby sat at the window looking out. The blue sky looked dazzling and white clouds floated and decorated the sky. It felt so calming that they closed their eyes and tried to catch the air with a smile on their faces.

“Actually, why did you pass out and have to be treated in the hospital?” asked Alex as soon as he opened his eyes and stared into Ruby's face

Ruby also opened her eyes, then turned to Alex. Although Ruby smiled when she stared at Alex, her clear pupils trembled. Alex could see that there was anxiety which the beautiful girl who was staring at him was trying to cover up. However, even though Ruby finds it hard to tell all she keeps in her mind, Ruby still wants to confess all to Alex. Alex, who realized all that, held Ruby's hand while smiling.

“You don't have to tell anything if you don't want to. We all ever have something we can't say to anyone, I understand. “ Said Alex and Ruby shook her head in response.

“I… want to tell you all. Actually, I have leukemia since I was little. My blood is so strange that I consistently have to take treatment, so I can survive. “ Ruby said and anxiously.

“I also have different blood, I have hemophilia which keeps my blood flowing when I have injured, so I have to protect my body from any injury if I want to stay. We are the same.” Said Alex while rubbing Ruby's head.

The day passed, the sun shone with its orange light. At a tennis club center, Helena and Natty are ready with sports clothes and mini skirts complete with hats and a tennis racket. Those who have just joined have come together to follow the tennis club practice, which Alex takes.

Yes, these two beautiful girls entered the tennis club not because they wanted to learn how to play tennis, but they followed a very famous sports club just to meet Alex, a handsome man who is the target of all women. They are willing to join in the tough tennis practice outside until their skin gets sunburned just because of a daily schedule given by Drake.
