Chapter 25: Chapter 25
-24-Ron.
"Riley's Parents raised a very respectful lady with a very bad attitude problem, that has the biggest heart."
....
For a few minutes, Riley enjoyed being in his arms. Getting kissed the life out of her.
However, they were interrupted when a ball hit her back. Two children were playing with a ball, but when Rose saw a dog walking towards her, she forgot to hit the ball and ran to the other side. As a result, Little Ron who had thrown it saw as the ball accidentally collided with the backside of a woman who was in the arms of a man.
Riley was a little hurt by the impact, She opened her eyes observing her surroundings. Her cheeks blushed red as she saw a 5-year-old boy and a little girl with him was gaping at them. They looked cute.
Immediately, her mind flashed back to all those times when she and Stuart used to play together with a ball. There were so many beautiful memories of her childhood. Cautiously she tried to pry off his hands over her shoulder but when he didn't make any move to let go, she pushed him hard.
Horrified at her behavior, he swallowed his tongue. Only uttering a single word.
"You." His eyes clouding with anger as he moved his neck to where her eyesight was behind him. Seeing two little children laughing at them. He rubbed his temples controlling his frustration. There was always someone who disturbed them when they were intimate. He glared at them hard.
Ron was a little startled by the glare but then remembering his uncle's words, he squared his shoulders matching his stare. After a few seconds, he rolled his eyes at Christian and saw the woman who's white face was red. But she looked like he saw her somewhere. He tried to remember but failed. Since it was just a few months his family came to this city. He couldn't know her.
"Pretty lady. I'm sorry. You were hit because of Rose, she always managed to hit people. Can you please forward my ball to me?" The little boy pouted and said childishly pointing towards the girl who was playing with him.
"What. You. I hate you, Ron!" Rose said as she stomped her foot on the ground in frustration. Hitting him from the back.
"Ah. Rosie. You can't hit me like that!"
"Humph. I can. I'm your best friend stupid Ron. Yet you always say bad things about me. I won't talk to you again. Even if you give me chocolates." Crying hysterically she stomped her foot again.
Seeing her crying, Christian frowned. He had no idea how to coerce children. But seeing the fat tears present on her face. He finally said,
"Don't cry, baby. Come and take it."
Rose stopped crying at once hearing his words. The uncle was even more handsome than her favorite cartoon. She smiled a toothless smile and said with difficulty, "Mumma said to never take chocolates from strangers. Even if they are handsome."
"Okay." Hearing her answer, Christian thought it was right. Since she didn't know him. He smiled hearing her praise though then He placed it back inside his pocket.
Seeing he had no intention of giving the chocolate to her again, Rose immediately leaped towards him and sat down on his lap. Pouting slightly. "But since you are more handsome than my favorite cartoon, then I will take it. Pretty uncle. Thank you."
Forwarding her hand in front of him, she asked for the chocolate. Seeing her behavior Christian lifted his lips to suppress the smile. 'She was so cute. And clever.' Pinching her cheeks slightly he offered the chocolate to her again. She took it smiling.
Seeing their interaction, Little Ron rolled his eyes. 'So much for strangers lessons.'
"Stupid Rose. I will tell your mommy that you accepted chocolate from a stranger." He said scolding her.
Seeing his behavior, Rose stuck her tongue out at him and asked Christian. Forwarding a hand towards him.
"Pretty Uncle, what's your name?"
Accepting her handshake he answered back, still confused about what was happening.
"My name is Mindy."
"Hello, Uncle Mindy. My name is Rose. We live near this garden. He is my best friend Ron. He lives far away from my home. But since from few days, I was sick he came to play with me here. But don't mind him, he is stupid."
"Huh? But why are you telling me all this Rose?"
"Because he said you are a stranger. But now. You are not. We are friends. You know everything about me. So Mom won't scold me."
"Stupid Rose," Ron muttered begrudgingly, he wasn't surprised, for knew she can do anything for chocolates.
Seeing the way the little girl changed the entire situation for herself Christian smiled admiring at her. If she is so clever at this age. How clever she will be when she will be grown up.
Both Christian and Riley exchanged glances and laughed hard. They were practically going to have tears from laughing that hard.
Seeing the adults laughing at them, Ron rolled his eyes at her, stomping his foot in frustration.
Seeing Ron frustrated Riley said smiling.
"It's okay little boy. Come here."
Ignoring Rose, who was childishly making faces at him while Christian was laughing heartily. 'It felt so good to play with children.' Christian thought inwardly. Ron sighed and moved towards Riley.
Seeing his eyes, Riley was stunned. The familiar blue eyes stared at her in amazement. They were as blue as the ocean. He was wearing a black t-shirt white pants and a small hooded jacket over it. Black, Stuart's favorite color. His skin was light and his face shape was truly similar to His Stuart. He was pouting his pink lips to look innocent. Yet, He exactly looked like a smaller version of Stuart. Everything about him screamed 'Stuart' to her.
"Pretty lady what's wrong?"
Hearing his voice She came out from her thoughts and smiled.
"What's your name, pretty boy?"
He pouted and said
"Pretty lady only women are pretty we men are called handsome. I'm handsome, not pretty."
His voice sent shivers down her spine, the same voice. What was wrong with her? Stuart is dead. Why was she remembering him again and again? Despite her inner struggle, she managed to smile at him.
Ruffling his brown hair, she gave him the ball. But on second thoughts she asked him again.
"What's your father's name, Ron?"
Ron panicked hearing she wanted to know his father's name. It must be because she was hit by his ball. Was it that bad? Thinking his eyes filled with fear as he enquired "Why are you asking Dad's name pretty lady? I didn't hit you that hard right?"
Riley shook her head, wanting to explain to him. But she was interrupted by him again.
Bowing he said quickly. "I'm sorry aunty. If the ball hurt you. Please forgive me. It wasn't my intention."
Knowing he misunderstood her, Riley quickly helped him up and kissed his fair cheeks. Explaining why she wanted to ask about his father's name.
"I am not hurt Ron. So, Don't be afraid. I just wanted to know about your father's name because you look like someone I knew."
Ron breathed a sigh of relief, a smile gently tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"Oh. I thought you will complain to him."
Riley smiled, "No. I won't."
"My Dad's name is." Just when he was about to answer, A lady in her thirties shouted Their names,
"Rose, Ron. Come here. It's time to go home."
Seeing her mother, Rose quickly jumped up from Christian's arm with the speed of light running towards her Mom. Christian sighed helplessly, wasn't she playing with him a few minutes ago. And now she left him without even saying goodbye.
While Ron ran behind her with his bass, Waving a bye towards them.
"I gotta go. Goodbye, Pretty lady."
"Bye Pretty boy," Riley answered back with a smile.
Just when Ron and Rose crossed the doors of the garden. He saw the same blue eyes staring at him. It seemed his playtime was over. His uncle was here to take him Smiling he asked Ron.
"Who were you talking to Ron?" Stuart asked as he took him in his arms pinching his nose with a smile.
" A pretty lady uncle. I accidentally have hit her with my ball. But she didn't scold me. You know she was so pretty. Even more pretty than Mommy."
