Cindy’s POV

I walked into Janet restaurant, the place was big but empty, possible because I was coming over, today was our friendship anniversary and we never miss out on it.

Kelly joined us not quite long as classic music played in the background, one of my favourites, but it only made my heart lonely, my friends were saying something while we ate but I was absentminded and so lost in my thought that I didn’t hear them call me.

Kelly took the ice cream I was eating away from me and I looked at her with a frown. “You have taken too much already, so stop.” She told me and I looked down the table to see three empty plates of ice cream I have consumed.

“Give it back,” I demanded, not ready to hear what they have to say but Janet hit the table with her hands and I flinched back and look at her face, her brow was creased and honest she looks like she could kill an ant.

“You would get yourself sick if you continue.” Her voice was soft as her brows began to relax.

“What do you think I should do?” I raised my voice as my heart was already aching. “Just give me that ice cream or I will have to drink beer instead.” I grabbed a bottle of beer but they took it from me immediately and hand my ice cream back to me.

I looked at both of them, already aware that they know what happens when I make beer and they know they can’t handle me at that moment, I smile and continue eating my ice cream as they both watched me,

“What is wrong Cindy? You are now a very popular musician and everyone know you, you are also wealthy and should be happy…”

“Happy?” I cut Janet off what she was about to say and frowned. “I did not hear you right now, why should I be happy? I became popular and sang a lot of songs, then what? I can’t even see him, I don’t know if he sees my music videos or listens to my music…”

“Cindy…”

“How can I be happy when all I have is just his picture, it has been six years, no contact, I can’t find him on social media or anywhere, where is he now?” I look at my two silent friends. “I am not happy, I will not be happy, I just put smiles on my lips on the camera, but my heart is just void, so I can only take these sweet things to at least make my bitter heart sweat again.”

“You are killing your system with these sugary things, so please, stop it, Cindy, I am sure he is watching you on TV now…”

My phone rang and I looked down at it before answering. “President Kim… I am on my way.” I ended the call and took my bag. “I have to go now, see you both later.”

They waved me goodbye as I stepped out, a black celebrity van was already waiting for me so I climb into it and lean back to the chair closing my eyes only to see Jeffery’s image leaving, this was something that always happens when I shut my eyes.

I arrived at the company and was handed a slip as I looked through it, seating down on one of the sofa chairs. “What is this?” I looked up to President Kim for answers.

“Stanzoget want to cooperate with you.” He spoke as I glance through another document he handed over to me.

“Portugal acting Company?” I glance up and saw him nod in response.

“Yes, they like your music and want you to sing in a show they are hosting, starring Suzy Dee…”

“Suzy Dee?” I smile when I saw her image on the file, she must have become an actress. “Okay, before that I would love to meet with Suzy.” I hand him the file and walk out of the office.

I met Suzy at a reserved VIP restaurant and we both smiled as we embraced each other. “I thought you said you would leave and never return?” I asked her as we sat down.

“I am sorry for coming back, I can leave now.” She points to the door and I shook my head, Suzy had become pretty and she was no longer rude as before, she looks more humble and this gave her angel charms.

“You don’t have to, I miss your ugly face so much,” I told and we both chuckle. Now I understand why they said most friendship can only be built after you become an adult. “Now let’s talk business, explain the movie.”

Suzy handed me a sheet and I glance down at it. “This would explain it better.” She told me.

“Okay, but why did you recommend me to do it?” I looked at her eyes that were filled with gentleness and in them were honesty.

“I have been listening to your music and it touched a deep place in my heart, I told my organization that we need to do it.” Suzy had a broad smile on her lips and I wish it had all been this way in the past, anyway, it was time to face the future and let go of the past.

“If that be the case, I cannot say no to a friend now.” We both smile, now that I have made up with Suzy, I only hope I would see Jeffery again, my mother and father also wish to set their eyes on him.

I walked into Janet restaurant after learning that Russeli who had been away for six years was back, I saw the young man smiling at my two friends and was saying things that amuse them.

Russeli was wearing a long white shirt and a black suit trouser, his hair had a new look and he had matured through the years, he was not looking like the Russeli I once knew in the past, but his face and smile was that familiar one I knew.

“Russeli!” I call called out as I ran over and embraced him almost in tears and She called out my name and smile but tears had filled my eyes. “I miss you so much Russeli.”

“I miss you too, but not as much as I did in the past.” He spoke in his deep voice and I lean back with a frown on my face.

“A little?” I raised my brow as I sat on the empty chair next to his as he nods in response. “So now your mind has been occupied by football that you forgot the memories we both had together?” I furrowed my brow but he lifts his finger and I saw he was wearing a ring.

“I am a married man right now and a father of two kids, a boy and a girl.” He stuck his tongue out in a silly way as he showed me the pictures of his kids.

“They are so cute.” I smile as I looked at the children. “Your wife must be a beautiful woman.” I look at him and he was beaming and I felt jealous, but happy at the same time. “You moved on.”

“Yes, I saw you are now popular too, I watched a lot of your live music.” He tilts his head to the side and beams, I scoffed, he was making a mockery of me right now.

Kelly’s phone rang, she excused herself, after the call she left since her director needs something from her, Janet also left to attend to some costumer while I was left alone with Russeli.

“Haven’t you heard or seen Jeffery?” He was also away about Jeffery’s departure, the whole school knew and I guess everyone could tell the reason for his departure.

“No.” I try to smile but all that I let out was a sigh. “He had disappeared into thin air and I have not seen nor heard from him.”

“He is a total Jerk!” Russeli said rightly dragging the last words as a straight line appeared between his brows. “He had made a good lady wait for him for six years, Cindy, make sure you give him a slap or punch him across the face whenever you see him else I would be forced to do it myself.”

I chuckled. “That has been on my mind for a long time, I just have to take beer to go gaga crazy for him.” We both chuckled and changed the topic, just like that, Russeli always has a way of lifting my spirit and I was glad to have him back and still be friends with him.
