~Third person's POV~

"My name is Rahila. What's your name?"

Lexis pauses as he hears her say her name. "Rahila?" He repeats as if he didn't hear her properly.

She nods still having the seductive smile on her lips."Yes.

He sighs before shutting his eyes, and biting his lower lips.

She looks at him in confusion, "Is there a problem?"

He climbs down from the chair and without saying anything, he starts walking away. Rahila stares at him leave with a puzzled look on her face and then, she stands up and starts following him. Then she pauses when she sees him walking over to one of the tables close to the front stage. She places a hand on her waist and sighs before going back to sit down.

Lexis on the other hand couldn't believe the same person he wanted nothing to do with just kissed him. He sighs in annoyance before Erica walks over to him. He turns to her as she stands beside him. She is wearing a black button down dress which exposes her cleavage. The deep v belted midi dress stops above her knee and she wears a pair of thigh high boot which complete her look. Her black lipstick matches with her liner and long lashes.

“I did invite her but l didn't know she has arrived already" She explains to lexis lowering her head to whisper in his ear.

Lexis sighs before licking his lips." Its fine, you can go."

Erica nods and walks away. As he keeps thinking, he feels someone standing behind him and he turns to see its Ella.

He stares at her without saying anything while she stares back with a smile.

"Hello brother-in law." She says smiling.

Lexis only twitches his lips, "Hello Gabriella."

“You are looking really good."

Lexis grins, “I can't help it."

She nods,"I just thought I should say hello.”

"Oh? I thought you would be keeping a leach on your husband?"

Ella's smile vanishes as her face hardens. She has forgotten how annoying and insulting Lexis can be.

"My husband is not a dog." She says defensively.

Lexis shrugs," I didn't say that he is, my dear. I was asking you a question.”

She sighs," I will just go." With that, she turns around and starts walking away.

Richard climbs up to the stage while someone brings a microphone for him. He collects it holding it in his right hand as he places it close to his lips." First of all, I want to thank God for making this day possible. At first I didn't want to have a party or anything..." He says with a shrug. 'I mean, I'm not young anymore but then, l thought it would be a good opportunity to see everyone of you..." He keeps on giving his speech while Lexis watches him absent mindedly.

All he wanted to do was to just shoot his father from the stage and then face the consequence but no, that would be too easy. Killing people is like having mercy on them to him while punishing them is his ruthless way of no mercy.

He would take his time and make him pay for ruining all he had. All he had always wanted was to be with his mother and that was enough for him. He didn't want to be in charge of any mafia group nor take anything that doesn't belong to him but if he had lost the only thing that gave him light, he would just fill every other thing with the darkness that has now taken him.

He would destroy everything after he's done with his father and it doesn't matter how many people would have to die or get hurt. If he couldn't get happiness despite how innocent he was, then why would others get it?

After Richard is done with his speech he invites lexis up to the stage breaking him off from his thoughts.

Lexis walks over to the stage taking the microphone from his father with a smile on his face. After saying his piece and wishing his father a happy birthday, William also did same and everyone starts eating and drinking while some dance.

William reluctantly dances with Ella while Richard chats with guest. Lexis on the other sits at his table with a glass of wine in his hand as he stares at nothing in particular. Just as he brings the glass of wine to lips, he feels someone take a seat beside him and from the corner of his eyes, he can tell that it's Rahila.

He sighs and places the glass of wine on the table, without drinking from it.

"So you are Lexis." she says with realization.

He didn't answer but simply looks around.

"My father has mentioned you a few times but l didn't know you would be this handsome." She says moving the tip of her finger over the table.

Lexis turns to her, “What difference does it make if you know?”

She smiles," He mentioned something like marriage and I just swept it under the rug but now..." She bit her lips with a flirty look before adding on. " think I have a change of mind."

Lexis didn't say anything but just stares at her. He could see how determined she looks.

“Well, thank you for inviting me, Alexander".She calls him by his full name as she smiles at him. He didn't say anything but stares at her before he takes a sip from his drink.

“Shouldn't you go over to your family? I'm sure they're looking for you."

She chuckles lightly," Are you trying to send me away?”

Lexis inhales pursing his lips as he twitches his brows.

“Dance with me." She says as she stands up to her feet slowly walking over to his back. She leans against his back placing her face close to his neck as she places her hands over his.

He sighs in annoyance before bending to the side. “What the hell are you doing?”

“Dance with me." She whispers into his ear.

Lexis rolls his eyes and is about standing up when Richard walks over to his table alongside Alhaji Bawa. “Oh? You two are already getting along fine.

Rahila smiles before moving close to Richard. “Happy birthday to you, sir."

Richard smiles at her. “Thank You Rahila. I can sense a good connection going on here?”

“Of course. I haven't been able to take my eyes off his handsome face.." She looks at Lexis before continuing." I wonder where he got his looks from."

“It's me of course. Don't you see the resemblance?" Richard says as he chuckles.

Rahila chuckles lightly," I will not agree on that. It would definitely be from his mother, I bet she's very beautiful. Is she at the party?”

Lexis's clenches his fist at the mention of mother and stands up abruptly from the chair.

He swallows hard," Excuse me for a moment, I want to use the restroom."

Alhaji Bawa nods while Richard stares at him leave knowing well that he's only trying to escape from the conversation. He shakes his head and turns to Rahila.

“You can check on him later but be careful, he can be very difficult."

Rahila grins, “I can handle that.”

“Rahila can be difficult as well. She can handle it." Alhaji Bawa says with a smile while she flips her hair grinning.

“Oh I see. They are definitely going to be the perfect couple." Richard says as he grins widely.

Lexis bends over the sink as he washes his face with the running water. He lifts his head up and looks at the mirror. He swallows and sighs before turning around. As he walks towards the door, it slides open revealing William who stands in front of him with his hands in his pockets.

He moves to walk pass Lexis entering into the rest room.

"I was hoping to see your mother at the party."Lexis starts to say, making William pause." - it's a shame her absence is not even noticed.”

William swallows hard as he clenches his fist in his pockets but he didn't turn around or say anything.

"Funny how karma hits people..."lexis continues and smiles.-"She used to be a jealous wife but now, she's nothing but a burden." He shakes his head.

William, who couldn't take it any longer, turns around to him. “Shut your f**king mouth up, you bastard! What the hell is wrong with you?"" he yells giving him a hard glare.

Lexis grins, “You should just take her to a psychiatric hospital because that exactly what she needs, don't you think? Or do you think she just suffers from dementia?"

William bit his lower lips trying to control himself as he hits his fist against the rest room counter top before turning to Lexis.

"I don't have time for a f**ked up person like you." He says between his teeth.

Lexis dips his hands into his pockets and walks closer to him and whispers into his ear. "Does it hurt to hear the truth?”

William pushes him off hard by the shoulder making him to stagger backwards.

“Why are getting angry? I was just having a little fun with you." Lexis says as he chuckles lightly.

William scoffs and walks closer to him. “You know where you are supposed to be?" He asks hitting against his shoulder with his middle finger."-You should be the one at a psychiatric hospital.The difference between you and the mentally deranged people is that they are oblivious to their state and you..." He points at him."- Are very much aware that you need help.”

Lexis swallows hard staring at William who glares at him as he finishes talking.

He suddenly smiles, before placing a hand over his shoulder. "If a mentally deranged person, like me, can have everything you wish for, then don't you think you should be mentally ill like me?”

William clenches his fist as he glares at him. “Everything?" He scoffs “Be sincere with yourself lexis, do you really have everything?”

Lexis swallows and stores at him. He might try to brush it off but then, again. William is right. As much as he hates to say it, it's actually true.

“I do, I have everything. I even have your mother's fate in my hands." With that, he walks pass him out of the restroom.

William gulps hard as he presses his fist against the countertop.

He grits his teeth," that bastard. Always need me, to vent out his frustration, huh?”

After a while, William walks out of the restroom and decides to go over to his mother's room. He needs to get out of the party's scenario. His father just keeps making him feel like shit and nothing in front of him visitors and now, Lexis added to it completely ruining his mood.

As William gets to the staircase, he sees Kemi standing by the rail. He stares at her as he stands there looking up at her. She smiles at him before walking down to where he is.

She stares at his face and could feel something is not right.

"Are you okay?" she asks.

He swallows hard before he nodded, "Yeah, I am."
