Chapter 39: Chapter 39

WARNING;VIOLENCE/ABUSE SCENE.

~Third person's POV~

Kemi pulls the handle of the door with all the energy she could muster but it wouldn't open. She panics as she bangs on the door shouting at the top of her voice.

Suddenly, she feels his hand pull her hair back. She winces in pain as she tries to pull away but she loses her balance and falls to the floor. He forces her to look at him while gripping her hair tightly. She winces as she holds his hands trying to pull his hand away from her hair.

"You're one stubborn b**ch!..." He slaps her hard making her fall backwards. She spits out blood from her mouth and before she could recompose herself, he grips her by the neck.

"If you try me, walai.." He glares at her as he tightens his hand around her neck. "I will kill you." He pushes her head backwards before dragging her by the wrist to the bed.

"Climb on, fast!" He yells at her hitting her with the whip.

She winces hard as she cries but still didn't climb on to the bed. She sits beside it on the floor wrapping her hands across her arms.

Alhaji Bawa sighs and place his hands on his waist as he stares at her. "You really want it hot then."

He drags her up by the arm. "Strip." He says to her as he holds her arm tightly.

Tears roll down her cheek as she clutches to her dress with her shaky hands. He sighs and just before she knows it, he hits her hard on the stomach and she yells out in pain clutching her stomach as she goes down. He pulls her up again and grabs her hair.

"I said take off your clothes you this stupid b**ch!"

Kemi cries hard as she feels the sharp pain in her stomach. She feels like throwing up but couldn't. She still tries to move away from his hold but didn't have enough energy to even move her body. It hurts like crazy.

And then, he tries to tear her clothes but she clutches tightly not giving him the access to go further. He sighs in frustration and grabs her by the hair again before moving her to the table. He hits her head against the table scattering the things on the table. Blood starts gushing down her head and her legs starts wobbling.

He tears off a part of her dress exposing a part of her cleavage. She clutches on to the piece tightly as tears soak up her cheek mixing with the blood from her head and mouth. When he tries to tear her dress further, she bites off his hand making him push her to the floor.

And then comes a hard slap on her face, and another and another and another and it continues until she lost count and passes out.

THE NEXT DAY

8:30 AM

William sits with his father in the sitting room who is pressing his phone and not even glancing at him.

"Is there a problem William?" Richard asks him finally looking up from his phone.

William feigns a smile, "Not really. It's not so bad if l visit my father, is it?"

Richard scoffs, "Oh? Is that so?"

William nods, "Yes father."

"So, how are you handling the casino at Dankaka?"

William nods, "I'm handling it just fine father, everything is under control."

Richard nods, "Great, it had better be under control or I will hand it over to Lexis if you mess it up."

William swallows heard clenching his fist.

He feigns a smile, "I hope the auction was satisfying to you father."

Richard sighs, "The main person that you were supposed to impress wasn't actually impressed at all."

"Alhaji Bawa?"

Richard nods, "Of course."

"How is that so? I made sure everything was to his taste."

Richard shrugs,"He found interest in some girl so he came to me. Well, I already told Lexis to release her though and I believe he has done that."

William sighs. That's just the answer he wanted to hear. He wanted to confirm if their father is involved so he would know how to handle it.

"Lexis isn't the type to just give in." William says with a shrug.

"Lexis is no fool to risk business because of a mere girl. Would you be stupid enough to risk that?"

William shakes his head, "Of course not." He sighs.

If he talks too much about it, his father start to suspect and if he talks to Lexis about it, Lexis might also suspect and could find out able his plans. And if he acts alone, it would definitely be a bad idea but then again, he can't just leave her with Alhaji. He is worried but still doesn't know what to do.

"You look conflicted. You've got a problem?"

William shakes his head, "No no. I don't, father." He stands up to his feet. "I will take my leave now."

Richard nods, "Suit yourself."

William exits the room.

As he drives out of the mansion, he thinks of ways to help Kemi. The only thing he can do for now if to send people to watch over the house just incase of anything.

His phone rings and he slides to answer before putting the ear bud into his ear. "George send some men to watch over Alhaji Bawa's house."

"I already did that and my men says they saw a cars leaving the compound."

William's eyes widen, "What? To where?"

"I don't know yet consigliere because they didn't follow them. I will get back to you when they inform me."

William sighs, "Okay."

He hangs up and continue driving as he curses angrily.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Bawa has taken Kemi out of the house and they are heading for his hideout. It's a secret place so no one knows of the location except from him.

It's located in the midst of trees and bushes and is the inly house there. As soon as they arrived at the place, he dragged Kemi's consciousness body over his shoulder into his hideout house. He place her on the bed in the room before walking out.

Minutes later, Kemi wakes up and she stares around the unfamiliar room in confusion. The last thing she remembers was when fainted after he continued hitting her nonstop. She tries to sit up on the bed but her body aches really bad. Her head is throbbing and pounding since he dragged her hair consistently.

She sighs and manages to climb out of the bed before walking over to the window. She slides window blind to the sides. Her eyes widen when all she could see are trees and bushes. Where is she? Why has he brought her here?

She reaches down to her stomach and rubs her hand over it. It still hurts from the punches she received the previous night. Just as she turns away from the window, the door opens and Alhaji Bawa walks into the room holding a tray in his hands. He walks over to the table and place the tray of food on the table before turning to her.

"Food, eat it." He says to her standing beside the table. She didn't move from where she is but simply watch him from where she stands.

"You should eat to survive." He says with a shrug before he exits the room. After he left, she slowly walks over to where the food is and takes a looks at it. There is water beside it so she just takes the water and pours it into the glass before drinking from it. She walks away and sits on the bed fidgeting with her fingers.

After a while, he walks back into the room this time wearing only a singlet and shot. He walks over with his bug tummy and sits on the bed. Kemi springs up from the bed and moves backwards until her back is against wall beside the window.He scoffs before turning his head to her.

"I'm not up for your child play so just stop with the running around. Do you think I wouldn't have forced myself on you last night when you were unconscious if I wanted to?"

Kemi bit her lower lips as she wraps her hands across her chest. He sighs and looks at the table where he sees that the food he had brought for her is left untouched.

"You didn't eat?" He scoffs. "Oh wow, how did you intend to do the deed properly?"

She looks away hoping that the ground could open and just swallow her rather than for this man to have his way with her. He stands up from the bed and slowly makes his way over to her. As soon as he gets to where she is and is about reaching for her, she grabs his d**k with her hands and squeezes it hard making him scream out in pain. If this is the only thing she can do to keep this man from her, then she would do it over and over again.

Suddenly he manages to slap her hard on the face and she stumbles backwards almost falling. As he bends down holding on to his d**k in pain, she uses the opportunity to run over to the door. She reaches for the handle and opens the door. To her surprise, it opens and she runs out with all the strength she has.As she runs out of the house, she freezes in her track when she sees one of Alhaji Bawa's men pointing a gun at her.

"Stop right there." He says as he moves close to her still pointing the gun at her.

Kemi panics. How could she think it would be so easy to escape from this place? She raises her hand up and the man reaches to her and grabs her by the wrist. Fear grips her as she thinks of what Alhaji Bawa would do to her she's taken back inside.

Then she starts struggling with the man trying to drag her hand off but he's too strong. She then kicks him hard on his d**k thinking it would make him release her but the man only wince hard with his grip still on her wrist. As he drags her inside, she reaches for the gun in his hand and starts to struggle with him trying to take the gun from him but couldn't.

Just as he's about to hold her hand to her back to restrict her struggle, she holds the tip of the gun with her both hands.

He sighs, "I will pull the trigger if you don't let go."

Kemi didn't listen because she knows clearly that he wouldn't do that. As he tries to pull the gun away from her, she pulls the trigger by mistake and the next thing that takes her by surprise is the loud scream from the man. He's holding his right arm which is bleeding profusely.

Kemi's hands tremble as she holds the gun in her hand wondering what just happened. She quickly recalls when she's trying to take the gun from him, she had turned the end of the pistol in the process to his direction and mistakenly pulled the trigger.

"...I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Her voice shakes as her hands tremble and then, she sees Alhaji Bawa walking out of the house and alongside two guards who are both holding a huge dog each by the leach as they growls hungrily at her.

The one she had hurt by a mistake manages to stand up and bows his head to him.

"You don't want this hard way angel." He says with a sigh . "If you run, these cute guys..." He points to the dogs." Will have you for breakfast."

Kemi panics as she stares at the two hungry dogs that keeps growling at her. She starts moving backwards slowly and then, she starts running. She panics as she continues to run with all the strength she can muster.

As she turns around, her eyes widen she sees the men along with the dogs chasing already chasing after her. She didn't stop. She knows very well that she will not be able to run far before they get to her but she's not going to wait until they did, so she keeps running. She could hear the footsteps of the men and could hear the dogs growling from nearby. She keel running between the tall trees hoping to see a way out.

After a while, she didn't hear the footsteps nor the dogs, so she thought they have probably stopped. She keeps running into she comes out to the coal tar. There is no car coming either side of the road so she starts to run on the side of the road. And as she runs on the side of the coal tar not caring where she's going, she starts to hear the dogs barking again.

Fear and panic runs through her as she attempts to cross the road to the other. She didn't think that there would be any car on the road since she has checked earlier so she enters into the road and just as she turns to the left, she sees a car coming towards her with full speed.

Her eyes widen and she stands there with her eyes closed,the car tries to dodge but it still hits her by the side before stopping at a corner. Kemi is lying on the ground as blood gushes out from her head. She tries to keep her eyes open but couldn't. The last thing she sees before she goes completely blank are strange people who are standing before her saying things that she cannot hear.

As the men who were chasing her sees her in a pool of her own blood,they turn around and goes back. Meanwhile the people who had hit her are William's men.

Scared that they might have killed her, they lifts her up from the ground and carries her into the car.They had been looking for the place he took her and didn't even know it's here.

"I can believe we just hit the same person we have been looking for." The first guy says as he places her head against the car seat.

"Let's take her to the hospital first before we inform the capo." The other partner suggests.

"Take her to the hospital, are you dumb? Just inform the capo first, so he would tell us what to do." He says.

The first guy's eyes widen, "Why don't you do it then? You don't get to do all the talking."

The other guy sighs before he calls George to report the current situation. After hearing from him,he hangs up and turns to his partner.

"He says we should meet him at the fourth junction... And I think we're in trouble." He says the last words with a long sigh.

"I guessed as much..." He looks at Kemi. "Luckily enough , Alhaji Bawa's men didn't bother about checking her body."He says.

"He will definitely have their heads..." He laughs lightly. She looks so pale man." He says to his partner as he stares at kemi's unconcious body.

"Of course she would look pale you dummy, we just hit her with a car..." He hit their third partner who is driving on the head. "You're dead if anything happens to her, l clearly told you to drive slowly."

*AT WILLIAM'S OTHER HOUSE*

They did as they were instructed and brings Kemi to George who takes her into his car. George drives down to William's other house.

William has instructed him to bring her here instead of his main home or the hospital. He has called for his personal doctor who has brought everything needed and is already waiting at the house.

He stares at Kemi's body on the bed and anger sweeps through him.

"I f**king asked those idiots do a simple task and they almost brought her lifeless body back to me. F**king idiots!" He curses loudly as he stands close to the bed.

"Could you wait outside for a while?" The doctors asks holding a syringe.

William nods before walking out of the room slowly. Never in his life has he been so sick worried about anyone. When his men told him they had hit her, he felt so scared and worried. And then seeing the state at which she was brought to him, he couldn't hold the anger that he feels, mostly towards Lexis.

After waiting for a while, the doctor, Harry, comes out of the room.

"So?" He urges the doctor to start talking.

Harry sighs, "She is sleeping. The injuries are not too deep except the ones she got internally but they don't look like they were caused by accident, it's as if she was beaten."

William furrows his brows, "Beaten? Are they recent?"

Harry nods, "Yes, they are."

William sighs. He knows that it must be Alhaji Bawa's doing.

"Motherf**ker." He curses as he clenches his fist.

"But who is she though? I have never seen her before."

"It's none of your business Harry, you just treat her."

Harry sighs and nods, "She needs all the rest she can get, I will be back. There are same things I need to get from the hospital." Harry says before he starts walking away.

William sighs before he moves close to the bed. He moves the chair closer and sits down before reaching for her hand. He takes her hand gently in his hand careful not to obstruct the cannula fixed on her hand.

He moves her hand close to his lips and kisses her knuckles gently.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault." He whispers as he stares at her.
