~Third person POV ~

The table in the room is turned upside down, many papers are flying around the room while the others are already on the ground. He is squeezing a document in his hand as his face is ugly from the deep frown he is wearing.

“F**king hell!" He yells in anger as he throws the document on the ground. He runs his hand over his head in frustration as he leans against the table. He had gone over to Alhaji Bawa's house to get him on his side with the document Kemi had gotten for him. The document contains all right to the family company and shares but after taking it over to Alhaji Bawa,he found out that it wasn't the original. It is only the photocopied document and so he couldn't use it. It angers him so much that he was so close but still wasn't.

His phone rings on the table and he sighs before picking it up to answer the call. He glances at the caller name before placing the phone on his ear.

“Hello." He says to the phone.

After listening to the person on the other end, he sighs and nods. “Good, I'll handle it " He says before placing the phone on the table.

His takes up his other phone and dials on it before placing it on his ear.

“The document is photocopied Kemi, I need the original."'

“The...The original? How do I get that?” Her voice comes out low from the other end of the call.

"I don't know how you'll get it Kemi, if you're smart enough to get the photocopied, then get me the original.”

“Like...Like when do you need it?”

"Make sure you have it whenever next I call you." He hangs up placing the phone on the table.

He walks over to the window and stares through it. For now, he only wants Kemi to be his spy but later, he would ask her to seduce Lexis into trusting her. Ever since the day he saw Lexis looking at Kemi back at Ajegunle, he had found interest in her. And now, he would make Kemi get back Lexis's interest, and he would use her against him. He smirks at the thought and folds his arms across his chest.

He walks out of the office room and climbs downstairs where he sees Ella standing with her hands across her chest glaring at him.

William sighs and walks over to her. "It's 9 am in the morning Ella, please don't start.”

Ella bends her back giving him a surprised look. "Start? Start what? I haven't said anything."

He sighs and shrugs, “Well you're going to say something any moment from now,wouldn't you?”

“Do I smell?” She asks with a serious expression.

William looks at her in puzzle,“What?”

“Do I irritate you? Does my body look like faeces to you?”

William sighs and dips his hands into his pockets. “What in the world are you saying Ella?”

Ella bit her lower lip as her eyes clouds with tears.She walks over to him and grips his shirt. “Then why don't ever get close to me? I'm always the one forcing things!"

William rolls his eyes and holds her hands which are still on his shirt. “What the f**k do you mean Ella? It's not like we don't have sex." He shrugs as he pulls her hands off his shirt.

“This isn't about sex William! It's the fact that you don't care about me, I am nothing but a business tool to you!"

William licks his lips, “Don't you get tired of having the same conversation over and over again Ella? What else do you want from me?”

Ella grips his wrist and places it on her chest. "You..."She swallows."-You can just try to love me William, all I need from you...all I crave is your attention, please..." She reaches for his face and places her hands on his cheeks. "For once, just...just look at me."

William stares at her blinking.He reaches for her hands takes them away from his face.

“Love... isn't my thing Ella. You're asking for too much."

He moves pass her to walk away but she grabs his wrist reaching his face again before pulling him into a sudden kiss. William's eyes widen as he's taken by surprise. He pulls away and holds her shoulders.

“We can do this later if you want, I'm not in the mood right now." She lets go of her shoulders and walk pass her.

AT LEXIS'S MANSION

8:30 am

Lexis is on the phone standing by the window in his room with his eyebrows knitted together.

"How is he now?" He asks the caller and after listening to what the person says, he adds on. “How long will it take for him to recover?"

“Oh, I see,alright then." He hangs up and place the phone into his pocket. He takes his jacket from the edge of the couch and exits the room. As he steps out of the room and pauses when he sees Kemi standing in front of him.

He tilts his head at her, "Do you have something to say?”

Kemi gulps and breathes out. “Uh...I...I can be your new...IcanbeyournewPA." She says the words so rapid that Lexis couldn't grab what she said.

He narrows his brows. “You can be what?”

She breathes out again trying to muster up the courage to talk. William had instructed her to do everything possible to get the document and to do that, she has to get very close to him and earn his trust but she can't do that as a maid. For some days now she has been eavesdropping Lexis and has overheard his conversations with whoever. It seems like his PA, Ron had gotten into an accident and wouldn't be able to work for a while.

“I...I said I can be your new PA." She finally says looking down.

Lexis stares at her without saying and then, he suddenly laughs. Kemi stares at him wondering why he's Laughing.

Lexis moves closer to her, "Have you been eavesdropping on me scaredy cat?"

She moves her eyeballs from side to side pursing her lips.

He leans close to her ear, “I asked you a question."

She moves away from him quickly fidgeting with her fingers. He grins at her before walking pass her. She turns around and runs after him.

“I...I didn't mean to eavesdro.." She trails off as he gives her a serious expression.

“Why should I make you my PA? You can't even do your job properly as a maid.” He shrugs. “I should probably take you back,the auction is tomorrow anyways.”

Kemi's eyes widen as she hears him say that. She has totally forgotten about the auction. It's been more than two weeks and the auction was supposed to take place earlier. She cannot go back to that place, she doesn't want to be auctioned.

"Auc...Auctioned?I thought I can just work..." She pauses and takes a deep breath. She is already panicking and all Lexis is doing is stare at her as if enjoying it.

“I'm sorry I was evesdropping. I...l just thought I..."

Lexis cuts her off, “Do you know how to do the work of a PA? Do you have the credentials?”

Kemi blinks looking away from him. What was she thinking? Becoming a PA is just not something she can ask for. It has it's own process.

She shakes her head, “I don't.”

Lexis nods, "Great, now that you know it, you should do your job properly and stop thinking about stupid things..." He leans closer to her. “I hate it when people poke nose, especially evesdropping." His face turns serious. "Teju!"

He calls out and madam Teju comes running to him.

He turns to her. “Ensure she cleans the entire house alone."

Madam Teju smiles and nods, “Of course sir." She gives grins at Kemi knowingly and Kemi sighs lowering her head.

Lexis turns to Kemi and smiles at her, “Enjoy your day.”

Then he walks away alongside Robert.

Kemi just stares at him leave in disbelief. She didn't only fail to get the PA jobs but also got herself work overload

THE NEXT DAY.

5pm

~Kemi's POV.~

It's the day of the auction and if not for the fact that the underboss took me in, I would be there right now. Probably dancing on the stage in front of many men. Yesterday, madam Teju made sure I cleaned the whole house alone and she even timed me to finish in a short time. My entire body paid the sacrifice before they're still aching since yesterday.

Rose is in the kitchen cleaning her remaining part and since I'm done with mine, I'm taking a rest in the room. As I lay my back against the bed, I hear a knock on the door and I turn to it. I know it isn't Rose because she wouldn't knock and it isn't madam Teju either because that one would just barge in like it's her room. Just before I climb out if the bed,the door opens and Robert walks in.

“Hi." He smiles at me.

I smile back climbing out of the bed. “Hi Robert.”

Robert stretches out a wrapped package to me and l stare at it in puzzle. “What's that?”

“It's uh, it's from the underboss. He said you should wear it because you going with him to the auction."

My eyes widen as fear grips me.

“The...The auction? I'm going?”

He shrugs. “You should be ready in 30 minutes, that's what he said." He gives me the package before turning around to walk away.

I open the bag and brings out the dress. It's a long gown and it isn't like one of those exposed dresses I'm forced to wear at the other mansion.

I place the dress on the bed before going to take my bath. After I finished, I put on the red gown which has a long slit on the right side and a small opening at the left side of my stomach. The top exposes part of my cleavage and also my bag is exposed. Despite how revealing the dress is, it's way better than what I wore at the other mansion. I sit opposite the mirror and combs my hair side ways. Just as I am about to stand up, Rose enters into the room.

Her eyes widen as she sees my dress. “Oh my wow! You look amazing Kemi."

I smile slightly, “Thank you love."

She walks over to me scanning the dress with her eyes. “My goodness Kemi, this dress would cost a fortune!"

I sigh,“I know right.”

The fact that I'm wearing such an expensive dress and not happy about it is just so...

“Where are you going all dressed up like this Kemi?"

“Uh?Me?”

She nods.

“I'm uh, I don't know. The underboss just said I should come along.”

Rose pouts her lips and nods, "Oh I see."

She smiles, “Okay, sit let me help you do your makeup."

“I...uh I don't have a makeup kit.”

She grins at me,“Well, I do."

She walks over to her wardrobe and brings out a makeup box kit over to where l am.

“You...You know I'm dark skinned and you're fair skinned..." I started to say as she brings out the items. "-Would you have my shade?”

She pats my shoulder, "Trust me Kemi." And then she brings out my skin shades of makeup. I look at her in surprise, "How do you have my shade?"

She shrugs, “I used to do minor makeup for some prostitutes back at the ghetto, so l do have a few.”

I nod,“Oh,I see.”

After a while, she finishes with the makeup and I stare at myself in the mirror. The makeup isn't too heavy and it comes out natural.

Just as I stand up smiling at Rose,Robert opens the door and walks in carrying a small box.

"Here you go, put them on and let's go. He doesn't like to wait."

I stare at the box wondering what it is this time.I take the box from him and opens it. My eyes widen when l see a pair of heels. They are looking so exquisite and beautiful that I can't help but run my fingers over them.

“Wear them and let's go." He says and I nod. I put on the shoes and seeing how Rose's eye balls are almost popping out of her eyes, I know they look nice.

“Oh you look lovely Kemi.”

I smile, "Thank you." It's not like I'm even wearing these for a good purpose.

“Let's go." Robert says to me and I nod before following him outside. I climb down the stairs with him where l see the underboss standing in the foyer. Withthe sound of my heels making contact with the stairs, he turns to me.

I see him staring at me as I stride down the stairs. Reaching where he stands, I lower my head. He didn't say anything for a while and I am already getting nervous. Please tell me he's going to tell me to stay back. Suddenly, he starts walking away and I quickly walk after him. At the garage, I see the other guard who is always standing with Robert around the underboss. He opens the back seat and Lexis enters. I stand there wondering what to do as I fidget with my dress.

The underboss sticks out his head, “Do you need me to bring you inside with in bridal style?”

I gape before quickly entering the car sitting beside him.

I hold my hands together breathing out. "What...What am I going to be doing there? Will...Will l be...be...”

“You wanna know if you'd be auctioned?" He asks cutting me off.

I nod slowly.

“Well, not really. I'm bringing you with me because l need you to do something for me."

"And...And what's that thing?”

"Well you'll find out."

I sigh and looks out through the car tinted glass. This is how my life is going to be forever. These people only sees me as an object the get to use when they want and it's... it's really frustrating. I blink hard to prevent the tear in my eyes from falling.

Soon we arrive at the mansion. I could see more cars than the ones I saw last time.I guess there are lots of guests today. As I step out of the car with the underboss, I walk into the mansion following beside him.

We go over to the hall at the 2nd floor where I see people all seated chattering among themselves.I could see a stage which beside it is a pole and some other things which I know would be used for dancing. My body trembles as I stare at the scenery before me.

"What if...What if... " My voice trails off when I feel a hand suddenly starts pulling me away. I look up to the person and see it's the underboss.

Confused and surprised, I asked.“Where...Where are you taking me?"

“Shut your tramp and follow me."

I keep my mouth shut and quietly follows him. He leads me to an empty room and forces me on a chair before leaning close to my face.

“Now listen to me scaredy cat. There's a man coming to this auction. You will come out and they will bid for you..."

I panic, "Bid? Like place a price on me?”

He bit his lower lip and turns to me with a deep frown. “Don't f**king cut me off.”

I swallow and look away. "I'm sorry."

He sighs, "But before the bidding starts, I want you to get his attention first.”

“How do you mean?”

He narrows his brows, “What do mean? Do I have to explain how you're gonna seduce a man to you? Dosen't all sluts know that?”

I bit my lips as tears gathers in my eyes. I wanted to that I'm not a slut but what comes out is...

"I..I don't know how to.”

He looks at me in disbelief before sighing, “You could just let him notice you, you don't have to kiss or have sex with him."

I look away fidgeting with my hands.

He tilts his head, “Why are you acting like you're one innocent being?"

I nod my head,“I'll do it."

“Of course you will." He takes out his phone and shows it to me. I stare at the picture of a man wearing a native attire with a cap.

“This is Alhaji Bawa,the man you need to entice."

"If...If I get his attention, and he bids for me, would he take me away?” I ask in fear of the unknown.

He chuckles mockingly, "Take you away? That would depend on how much he bids."

Wait,what?! I look at him with widen eyes trying to process what he just said. Does he mean that old man would take me away if he bids enough money? Oh dear Jesus.
