Chapter 2: Chapter 2
SPLIT IMAGE
Jason berated himself for his unwholesome interest in romance and horror movies. 'Filmmakers have a crazy way of tampering with one's sanity!' He turned to his side and noticed that there was a duvet. Someone seemed to be under it. He didn't remember covering himself with one. "How did this get here?" He sat upright.
It seemed like the entire night just vanished. He looked really unrested. There was a throbbing sound in his head. But he had become curious. Jason stretched his hand towards the duvet and pulled it away from the person it was covering, only to discover a naked petite woman! "Holy cow! Who are you and how did you get here?"
The sleeping beauty was woken up by his voice. She rubbed her eyes with her palm. "Good morning, handsome!"
"Who are you?"
"What do you mean by that?" She sat down. "Arrgh!" The strange lady placed her hand on her forehead. An alarm clock began to ring. It made both of them so uncomfortable. This made her shout. "Turn that piece of trash off! It's drilling my skull!"
Jason hurried as fast as he could to the drawer on which the clock was vibrating. He smashed it to the ground without thinking.
"What is wrong with you?" She complained while holding her head tightly. "Didn't it occur to you that it would make a disturbing sound if you smashed it?"
She was right. The sound also echoed in Jason's head. But he couldn't care less about her. There was a note on the drawer. It was from his agent. He reminded him about the events of the previous day.
The athlete wanted to celebrate the sealing of a potential deal after a series of negotiations. But he had too much to drink. He was already drunk before getting home. Surprisingly, after a very long time, Jason asked for a woman to warm his bed. He also said that he didn't want to be disturbed afterwards.
His agent made the necessary arrangements for him. He also set the alarm and left the note for Jason in order to remind him of his appointment for the day.
"Woman, take your things and leave now!" He turned around and looked at her. Jason could remember having a drink the previous day.
"Baby, don't…"
"Don't make me call security on you!" He didn't let her finish talking.
While she was packing her things, he went to his monster of a wardrobe! Jason opened it with a unique combination, brought out a wad of cash and gave it to her. A couple of minutes later, she exited his room.
After barely managing to get his normal morning workout done, he went to the bathroom. While having his bath, Jason couldn't help but cast his mind back to the dream he had and the feeling that came with it. Everything was so real. He was still drying himself with a towel when it dawned on him that he was supposed to fly halfway across the country that same morning.
Immediately he heard the sound of his helicopter, Jason knew he was already late! He tripped a few times before finally getting ready and hurrying out of the building. So they took off from his mansion. He hadn't even eaten breakfast. And there was nothing edible on board! But on the bright side, outdoor activities were taking place everywhere.
The aerial view of different towns and cities was particularly captivating and soothing. At least, it changed his mood for the better. He was privileged to see Lordham's famed river from a bird's point of view. Like bitter enemies ready to fight to the death, the two main stadia of the region stood just kilometers apart. The game of football was a religion here and the people were devout followers. In less than half an hour after that, they landed at the center of a pitch. A few members of staff came to welcome them.
There was a teeming crowd of supporters outside the stadium. Apparently, they were not allowed to go in. He saw them from the air only minutes ago. Jason Sam had not been officially introduced yet, but the rumor was already widespread. Word had it that he would eventually become the ladies' favorite.
Two serious looking men soon walked up to them. They looked a lot like penguins in their black suits and white shirts. He tried to refrain himself from laughing. However, a lady walked hurriedly just behind the gentlemen. She obviously preferred a red scarf to ties and stiletto heels to Oxford shoes. Jason lost control! He had never been so enthralled by anything in his life. In front of him were the most benign yet bewildering eyes ever! Even with her glasses on. They literally caused images to flash through his mind.
But there was another reason for his reaction. The young woman that had just come to join the funny looking men happened to be the split image of the one in his dream!
