Chapter 82: Chapter 82

"So this is the house where the IP address was tracked to?" Navaeh asked turning to Quinnel who gave me a nod.

They were all standing in front of a house that was constructed with wood that had almost fallen unto the house.

The woods had been eaten by woodpeckers yet it seemed someone was living in it since there was light in what they presumed to be the kitchen.

"Ready to find out who it is?" Zaire questioned Navaeh and she nodded her head.

"We need a plan first. Whoever is in there won't just say they indeed did it, you know?" Ashley asked and Navaeh nodded her head slowly.

"Okay, Jake and Zaire... You guys should go maybe into the person's room, get the person's phone or a laptop of a sort... Any device the person might have used to post it."

"Why?" Jake asked Ashley.

"We're going to need evidence you know? You can't just barge into the school and say so so is the person that framed our baby. No one would believe you without an evidence. People would think you're desperate to clear your friend's name." Ashley explained slowly while the four other persons watched her demonstrate.

"You should be a detective or a police. You're explaining it like it's your job." Jake complimented and Ashley's cheeks turned into a deep shade of pink.

"I don't know." She said slowly turning her body to and fro.

"Should I?" She asked suddenly her eyes wide with a grin.

Zaire shook his head at his helpless sister. She seemed like a dummy now and then Jake wouldn't like her anymore!

"Stop acting like a fool." He muttered which Ashley heard clearly since she was right by him with Jake to her left.

"When was I acting like a fool?" She asked with a low voice and a glare.

"Just now."

"I did not."

"You did."

"I did not."

"You did."

"Not."

"Did."

"Not."

"Did."

"Not!" Ashley yelled out finally and Zaire jumped back in shock.

"Woman, calm your voice! We're here to do something else not just go up there and greet them like we're on a vacation! Or we're visiting!" Zaire yelled back and Navaeh smirked.

"That's exactly what we're going to do." She said mysteriously and all eyes turned to her with raised brows.

"Look." She said pointing at the students that were leaving the house. They were dressed in their school uniform which was Silva High.

"Our school mates?" Ashley asked and when the person wanted to turn their head to their side, they immediately scrambled off and his theirselves.

Jake landed behind a tree with his body pressed firmly against something but he didn't know what it was.

Quinnel was holding on to Navaeh pressing her body unto his while they hid behind a tree and finally the loner, a happy one, Zaire who solely hid behind a car.

The guys got on their bicycles and rode away.

"Are they gone?" Ashley squeaked and everyone frowned.

Why was she sounding like that? All eyes turned to Jake and they saw someone behind him sandwiched between the tree and his broad back.

"Hey! Get the fuck off her! Are you trying to kill her?!" Navaeh yelled running towards them.

Jake immediately pushed himself off whatever he was resting on and turned around to see a dazed Ashley.

"Oh Lord! Are you okay? I didn't mean to. Sorry. Can you move? Do I have to carry you home? Cause I will... I would carry you home. Oh God, please talk. Say something. Anything. At all." Jake rambled on in worry.

"I'm fine." She squeaked again and Jake pulled her against his chest hugging her tightly.

"Oomph!" She yelled in surprise her hand resting on his chest while his wrapped around her torso tightly.

Maybe too tight.

"Dude, let go of my sister. You haven't even asked for my permission to date her... You're already out to kill her." Zaire said instead pulling the two hugging people apart much to their discomfort.

Jake looked to Ashley whose face was red and then to Zaire who was checking her body for any damage before he took a deep breath.

He didn't ask for his permission? He would now.

When Quinnel saw what he was about to do according to the determination in his face, he spoke up.

"Alright. Couples. We've got something to do you know. We can come back to this... Later."

"Right. Right. Okay, Jake you're with me." Zaire said letting of his sister hand.

"You're sure you're okay?" He asked again before he let her go.

"It wasn't even for that long." Ashley replied.

"Still. You were like the corn dog in the hotdog. The hotdog is both his back and the tree. You seem pretty squished up back there."

"Well... I'm fine. Okay? Just remember to take pictures."

"Pictures of you?"

"No! Get your mind off me. The person's room. We might find some evidence or something in there."

"Oh right. Right. Come on Jake, let's see if we can find a way in apart from this one." Zaire said crossing the street.

"Just take care of yourselves guys. And be careful." Navaeh yelled and they gave a thumbs up.

"Let's go."

"Hold on, we don't even know the name of the owner of the house." Quinnel whispered but none of the girls heard him.

He groaned cursing his luck. Why didn't Ashley choose him and Zaire instead?!

The trio stood on the doorstep and took a deep breath before they rang the doorbell.

"Coming!" An older voice yelled from the house and they sighed.

The door opened a few seconds later revealing an older woman wiping her hand on her apron.

"Yes, can I help you?"

"Umm, yeah. We're from Silva High. She didn't turn up in school so we came to check up on her to see if she's fine." Navaeh lied pointing into the house.

"Oh how sweet! Mel sure has a lot of friends. Come in, please." The woman said smiling and they grinned at her stepping into the house.

The floorboards creaked under their foot and they stepped lightly before one of them landed in the floor.

"Mel! Your friends are here! Again!" The woman yelled holding the rails of the stairs.

"God! I'm coming!" A voice replied groaning and Navaeh tilted her head.

Why did that voice sound familiar?

"She's being cranky cause something she did didn't go as planned or so. Silly her. What can I get you guys to drink?"

"No–" Navaeh was quick to reject.

"Just water please. I'm parched. Thank you ma'am." Ashley cut off with a smile.

"Alright. Three cups of water coming right up." The woman replied and she turned around to walk back to the kitchen.

Navaeh raised a brow at Ashley once the woman was gone and out of earshot.

"Why would you request for water?" She whispered and Ashley rolled her eyes at her naive friend.

"Of course, we won't drink it. How would you call yourselves her friend and you won't drink as much as a cup of water in your "friend's" house? That's dumb." She explained and Navaeh nodded.

That made sense.

"Who is it?" Someone asked jumping down the creaky stairs.

All eyes turned to the stairs in anticipation of who was coming down even though the voice sounded familiar.

It was like it was happening in Slow Motion.

Her white leg was the first thing to be revealed followed by her thigh which was covered halfway by a jacket and a shorts.

Each held their breath as the brown hair revealed first and followed by pink lips and then a small nose with a splatter of freckles and then the full face.

"Amelia?" Navaeh asked in shock and Amelia paused on the stairs.

Her pink pouched phone was clutched in her right hand as her eyes roamed the three faces.

"What are you doing here?" She asked in confusion.

Had they possibly found out it was her? That was impossible. She even created a new account for it!

"Do you know her?" Quinnel asked and Amelia scoffed.

"She does. At least she remembers people unlike you." She said with a shrug.

"Me?" Quinnel asked and Ashley sluggishly and discreetly brought her phone out to open her voice recorder app.

Once it had been set up. She pressed play and pushed the phone into the side of her bag pocket.

"Here is your water. Oh, Mel. You're here already?"

"It's okay... They're leaving already." Amelia said and turned around.

Thinking they had to get her to admit it and also they didn't know it Zaire and Jake already got the whatever device they found, Ashley spoke up.

"But, Amelia. We came to see you. Won't you at least invite us in?"

"You're already in, Ashley." Amelia pointed out gesturing at the room.

"No, I meant talk to us or something. You're just turning us away so coldly. What did we do to you?" Ashley asked with a sweet tone.

"Yeah, Mel. This young girl here was parched when she got here that she had to ask for a cup of water." Mrs Dean supported pointing at Ashley who nodded her head.

"Fine. I guess you guys could stay for a bit." Amelia mumbled.

"With you?" Navaeh chimed in and her eyes turned to her.

"Sure." Amelia asked and took a seat on the chair.

Ashley nodded her head at Navaeh and they took their seats.

Mrs Dean placed the cup of water on the table and turned around to walk away to continue what she was doing.

"Now, Amelia. Why did you do it?" Ashley asked her eyes thin as she noticed each and every move Amelia made.

"Do what?"

"Oh please don't lie... It disgusts me. I don't want to puke all over your... house. I didn't even know you were not in school today. We know you posted that shit about Navaeh."

"What shit? What's up with Navaeh?"

"Cut off the acting... Just talk." Quinnel said glaring.

"That's all you ever do isn't it? Navaeh this... Navaeh that. God, are you that dumb?" Amelia snapped turning her head to Quinnel.

"What?"

"Do you even remember me? Freshman year? The entrance to the hallway?" She spat and Quinnel raised a brow at her.

"See? He doesn't even remember me! Someone that I have been in love with for fucking 6 years, doesn't even fucking remember me! Aren't I just pathetic?"

"And you ask why I did that to Navaeh?" She echoed in disbelief before she pushed herself up.

Ashley hand went to her bag pocket and touched it making sure her phone was still recording.

"Yes. I did it. I opened a new account under the name anonymous and I wrote that post. I could have easily sent it to Peeker Parker but I did not want to do it through someone. I wanted to do it solely by myself. Navaeh, dear... I have nothing against you. Quinnel implicated you. That's what he did."

"Are you crazy?" Quinnel asked standing up.

"Yeah! Maybe I'm crazy! Maybe I'm not! Everyday, you're the one invading my thoughts and then what do you do. You flock around Navaeh like she's some god!"

"Well, news flash... Amelia. That's what you do when you love someone! Alright? That is exactly what you do! You flock around them like a fucking bird waiting and wishing for them to love you back. Feel the same thing you feel about them! Not fucking hide in the shadows and talk about some petty fucking shit about 6 years ago that the other person doesn't even remember! You don't go around ruining the lives of every girl that your so called Crush likes all because you fucking like him! Jesus! Why is that so hard to do?!" Quinnel yelled and without another word or waiting for an answer, he walked past her pulling Navaeh with him as they walked to the door pulling it open.

He slammed the door close after him and continued walking in anger before Navaeh pulled his hand.

"Ashley." She mumbled and Quinnel ran a hand on his face.

"Right here. Well, that was quite eventful." Ashley chimed in with a wave.

"Now, we don't know if Zaire and Jake's mission went through."

As soon as she said that word, a scream pierced the air and then someone sighed in content.

"Heard that scream?" Jake asked and they turned to him to see him standing beside Zaire.

"Yeah. It was pretty loud." Navaeh mumbled.

"That was the sound of victory. We got her laptop." Zaire said waving a pink laptop that had BTS and BlackPink stickers all over it.

"And I got a recording of her admitting it. And well, Quinnel's confession if you would call it that."

"Fuck. That went abnormally well."
