Quinnel's POV

I looked down at Heaven sleeping peacefully on the bed. I looked up at the IVF connected to her arm as she slept.

The Nurse said nothing was wrong with her that she just needed rest and having lost her energy, she placed her on a dose of IVF. Zaire, Ashley and Connie left some minutes ago and I was still here.

I insisted on staying with her till she was awake and ready to go home. I already took her phone and had her fingerprint unlock it.

I scrolled through her contacts until my eyes landed on Koa. I checked through her call logs and found out it was Koa that called her that afternoon due to my calculations of the date and time.

I called him and he didn't pick at first ring. I tried again and then he picked up talking in hushed voice.

"Hey baby." He said and I frowned. Baby? Who the heck is this guy? I thought they were just work partners.

"This isn't Heaven." I said.

"Heaven? Who is Heaven? Isn't this Navaeh's phone? Dude, where is Navaeh?! You had better not even think of doing anything to her or else..." He paused.

"Wow. That was quite protective. This is Quinnel and yes, this is Navaeh's phone." I said and then I heard a gasp.

"The Quinnel?" He asked and I crunched up my brows.

"What do you mean by "The Quinnel?"" I asked and he laughed.

"Did I say The Quinnel? I meant, Quinnel. Who is Quinnel?"

"You obviously know me. And I don't know you." I said instead.

"I've heard so much about you from Navaeh. Happy? Now where is she?" He grunted.

"And I've heard nothing about you." I muttered and he didn't say anything.

"Navaeh can't come to work today actually, that's why I called you. I believe you guys have some boss or so. Tell him she can't come."

"Wait, what's wrong with her?" He asked his voice latched with worry.

"Umm she's... She's fine. Just can't move around that. The doctor said she needs to rest." I replied.

"She's obviously not fine." He muttered with a sigh.

"How much time should I tell our boss?" He asked and I thought for some seconds.

I looked down at Heaven's pale face and pulled the duvet more up so it was covering her body up to her chin.

"One week." I said and then he yelled into my ears.

"One week?! How bad is her illness?" He asked again.

"Like I said earlier, the doctor said she needs her rest and so she won't be coming to work her ass off at your workplace." I said and he sighed.

"Fine, I'll tell that big man. My regards to her. Tell her her one and only sugar plum is going to miss her so badly much." He said and I cringed at the name.

"In your dreams." I replied and cut off the call before he could say anything more.

"Dickhead." I muttered dropping the phone to the bed.

I looked back at Heaven whose eyes was now moving. I immediately stood up and I saw her eyes open moving to the IVF connected to her arm and then she looked back to the ceiling.

She sat up with a wince and I immediately rushed to her holding her waist.

"Easy there." I said helping her up. Once she was sitting, I pulled the pillow up and made her rest her back on it.

Once she was comfortable, I sat down in the bed beside her.

"Hey." I greeted and her eyes flickered to mine looking duller.

"Hi." She greeted back with a weak smile.

"What happened?" She asked raising her hand where the drip was connected up.

"Umm, the nurse said you couldn't move around that much and that you lost your energy and so she gave you IVF and she also said when you're done with this bag, you need go rest for at lease two days." I finished.

I know, two days... One week... Quite the difference. I just wanted her to fully rest up and have a few days to herself.

"Oh, okay." She replied looking up at the bag.

"How long was I out?" She asked returning her eyes to me.

"Just a few hours." I replied shrugging.

"Just great. I have notes to write now, assignments... Oh God!" She groaned and I chuckled.

"Umm the next few classes you had after the first period was with either Zaire, me, Ashley and Connie, thankfully. So they each took notes for you." I replied and she beamed at me making my heart flutter.

"For reals?" She asked and I nodded a smile blooming on my face as well.

"Aw! I should definitely buy then a gift! I love those guys so much." She said and I nodded my head.

"Hold on, even Zaire?" She asked.

"Even Zaire." I confirmed.

"Damn, those guys love me" She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Who wouldn't? You need to see how Ashley and Zaire were crying." I said and chuckled remembering their faces.

No surprise they're...

"Crying? Damn!" She said laughing.

"You're awake." We heard behind us.

I turned around to see the Nurse coming in with a smile on her lips.

"Hi." She greeted and I bowed my head a little bit. I looked back to Heaven who was now looking at the Nurse.

"How are you feeling?" She asked and Heaven nodded her head.

"Very well. Thank you." Heaven replied.

"Great. Is he your boyfriend?" She asked and I blushed.

"No, no no. At all." She replied and I laughed. I felt my heart sink at the at all but I paid it no mind. She wasn't my girlfriend so why feel bad?

"Oh? But he stayed by your side till you woke up. He even brought you here on his back so I naturally thought he was your boyfriend. Sorry if I made things awkward." She apologized and I waved at her.

"It's fine." Heaven said.

"You're feeling better right?" She asked and Heaven nodded her head.

"Have you eaten anything this morning?" She asked and I saw Heaven look at me and then back at the Nurse before she shook her head negative.

"You haven't eaten?" She asked and Heaven talked this time around.

"I had one bar of Snickers." She said timidly and I sighed.

That was the only thing she had since? The nurse turned her head to me and I looked up at her in full alert.

"Please go to the cafeteria and get her something to eat. Tell them Nurse Kiki sent you." She said to me and I nodded my head walking out of the Nurse's office.

"I'll put her in your care please." I said pushing my head back in.

"Of course. She is in safe hands, don't worry." She replied me and I smiled looking at Heaven who looked back at me and then down at her hand.

I walked out of the office and pushed my hand into my pocket walking to the Cafeteria.
